this is absolutley true, its described on icy veins since day 1 cata release. he also missedt he important mecanic with deep insight. i mean i dont want to overthink WHY, but most of the guides this dude makes are on the rotation part FALSE.
@@Farfarawai from my understanding you have an extra chance with your SS to get an extra combo point with the SS glyph so if your using RS after 3 combo points you can overcap them accidentally. During adrenaline rush should be RS>SS>SS>SS>SS>Ev then snapshot killing spree just as adrenaline rush is about to drop off. Normal rotation is RS>SS>SS>SS>Gouge then Ev. We use gouge if Improved as it’s a cheap energy spender and basically a free combo point. When you snapshot KS with adrenaline rush if you need to spend slightly earlier if deep insight is about to drop off then do that as well.
@@BH-jl3cb gouge is less dmg per energy, but its more combo point efficient and as combat u want the most combo points. Gouge should be almost always just used on cd. Revealing depends on fight lenght, shorter fights show a small dps increase if used at 4 cp, the reasoning of using in on 0-3 on longer fights is u always have the bufff in case ur ss generates 2 cp at 4 cp.
when youre leveling + Gearing just use wound on both especially if the fights dont last that long. You will almost hit wound poison damage for every single hit but once fights start lasting longer cause of heroic scaling the insta + deadly combo is extremely good also wound poison benefits from savage combat since its still technically a poison that applys a debuff
Wowhead has good ones listed. However general rule of thumb is you want a slow main hand weapon (2.6/2.7) for the higher damage per hit, and then a fast off hand for applying poisons faster
Nice Guide Thanks. Is it possible to make a macro where it is checking for 4 or 5 cp and if 4 using skill x and if 6 using skill y? Also i thought from other guides using sad on 1 cp und for higher dmg output because using 5 cp on ev is more power. Also i saw everywhere using first 5 cp on bleed and then ev. I have to test it but i will try this now because i feel like have some huge dmg loss in some situation. Greetings
Revealing strike should almost always be your first CP generator. The only exception is when you plan to refresh SnD. If you're at 4 CP, you should use Gouge. That's how the combat rotation is. Very rarely will you ever use bleed as evis is much stronger in Cata.
Realistically, one slow in OH and one fast in MH. Axe’s, Swords,Mace’s in OH generally and something fast in MH. Should look up Best in slot on wowhead for a good idea of weapon speeds
Your slowest weap on ur MH, idealy 2.60 or higher if u can find one ( 2.70 rare Mace in Deadmines HC ), can be any weapon u like so long its a slow weap. and a 1.40 dagger ( only type of weapon able to reach 1.40 speed in the game ) on ur OH for fast poison application.
@@victorchairez7356 cheers makes sense for the poison's that its higher for that spec i should have realised thank you tho saved racking my brain to figure it out
You still want 17% as combat too. You can achieve that by having a 15% melee hit rating. I noticed having this under made my deadly poison not apply to skull raid bosses as often which made my 4% damage buff not proc. It’s not just assassination.
Should always be using revealing strike at 0-3 and gouge as a filler for that last combo point unless adrenaline rush is up then you skip gouge
Why would you gouge? it cost more energy than sinister strike
@@Zerone_1 you put 2 points into improved gouge instead of reinforced leather to make it 15 energy.

i was doing SS,SS,SS,SS, RS and Eviscerate. Is that wrong? Should it be SS,SS,SS,RS, Gouge and Eviscerate?

glyph of Blade flurry?
BRAVO!!! So comprehensive and easy to digest!
Having not played my rogue since tbc classic, this was sooooo useful. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Tip for rotation you can use revealing strike at 1 combo point to avoid missing out on the extra dmg eviserate
Thanks. This was exactly what i needed.
Glad to hear it!
Revealing strike should be used between 0-3 CP and not at 4. You should use Gouge at 4 CP.
why
Then what glyph do you drop?

Great guides ... lots of good advice!
You kinda lost me on the insta poison vs wound poison u never got the a clear point on if it’s better with wound or at what point it becomes better.

Dont forget to put a poison on your throwing weapon as well.
So I didn't see a section on weapons.. Not sure if it was mentioned but what weapon type is best for MH and OH?

2.60-2.70 speed MH, 1.40 OH dagger. Swords/Maces for humans for extra exp. Deadly on MH, Instant on OH. Hope this helps
dont you need 17% spell hit cap also?
You need 17% spell hit for any rogue spec.

Might be a noob question but should rogues always use two daggers or one dagger/one sword?
