    Steph has been to the finals 5 straight times. He has won 3. He lost last years finals to the Toronto raptors but mainly due to their team being injured that series. If the 2019 warriors were healthy they would have easily won against the raptors and they would have completed a three peat. One of the biggest criticisms on Stephen curry was that he was overshadowed by his teammate Kevin Durant who joined the team after the warriors lost the 2016 title. The 2019 playoffs however mostly had Kevin Durant injured and the warriors even went 4-0 in the Western conference finals without Kevin Durant and with Steph being clearly the best player. Steph is such a great team player that he deferred to Kevin Durant for most of their 3 years together but most warriors fans who really watched the games saw that Steph was the engine that made the warriors offense so dangerous and Kevin Durant was just the cherry on top.

      Yeah, the Warriors' record when KD didn't play, but Steph did was 30-1, or something ridiculous like that. When KD played but Steph didn't the Warriors won only slightly more than 50% of those games. KD left because he wanted to be Steph Curry or at least be as loved as Curry is in the Bay Area. That wasn't going to happen with those repeated one and done contracts where he always had one foot out the door. What kind of teammate is that?

    Must watch highlights of Steph Curry "look away" shots. He shoots the ball, turns away before it goes into the basket. Other great highlights like his longest 3s, handles & crossovers, and when he scores over 20 points in a quarter.

      @Josh derpI too think that Jordan is the goat, but it terms of LeBrons finals it was not fair at all, he was going against a dynasty, it was basically impossible for him to win by himself, even Jordan needed some help. Basketball is a team sport and when it comes to winning championships you will see the best come out of teams, that's right teams, not just singular players. These teams will literally build strategies to destroy/beat 1 player if they are by themselves with no help. So unless you are so dominant that you can fill for an entire team I don't see anyone ever consistently winning a championship by themselves. LeBron is a beast, I personally always put him in my top 3 alongside Wilt.

    • @michaele.918

      Josh derp Use some context. He took a Cleveland team with unknown players and would’ve have inevitably been in the lottery to the finals at 23 in 07 and his meetings vs pre KD warriors were always him carrying without his two other counterparts due to injury. Jordan had a 90’s superteam with a guy that was a top 3 player in the league. When Jordan went to play baseball, that bulls team had great chance of winning the chip due to Scottie being the best player in the league and finishing top 3 in MVP voting. That’s literally like Bron having a prime Kawhi. How many times did Jordan get bounced out the first round before Scottie came around? Not to mention look at the era Russell played the in. Put Fred Vanvleet in the 50’s and 60’s and we’d be calling him a top 3 player of all time.

    Thanks for doing this. Steph is a beloved player in the league and is the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen. He is also self-less, moves incredibly without the ball, and makes everyone around him so much better because he draws the defense out 30 feet from the rim, thus creating large gaps for his teammates to move and create great offensive opportunities. He is not known for his defense, though he is a willing defender, but his lack of size and foot speed put him at a disadvantage. Total class act, leader, family man, and very few plays in NBA history have ignited a crowd consistently like a barrage of Curry Threes. So many more plays than this video shows, but I am glad you at least got exposed to him.

      Kennedy Allen changed the game in different ways but they both did yes lol. If you disagree with that statement, tell me why. AI was the one of the people to inspire style in the league, his dribbling, accessories, off court fashion. Curry revolutionized the three point shot.

    • @williamssong9817
      @williamssong9817 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YunginYu Inspiring NBA players to incorporate style into their play is not equivalent to changing the *way* the game was played. Sure, people started adding some of Iverson's signature moves to their repertoire, but Curry actually fundamentally changed the way basketball is played. There's a reason why bigs like Dwight Howard fell off so hard after Curry came into the league. The composition of teams, the types of players drafted into the league, and coaching have all evolved as a result of Stephen Curry. Spacing has changed entirely, shot selection has evolved to virtually eliminate the midrange, and more and more teams are running motion offenses in lieu of iso-ball and classic pnr. This is true in all levels of basketball, not just the NBA. So no, Iverson did not change the game like Curry has, he just embellished it. And there's nothing wrong with that. I'm a big Iverson fan myself.

    As a baller myself,I can say Steph and alot of new age era Ballers are being taught the release of the ball a lil different then what I was taught from the late 80s and 90s streetball era I grew up in. You're always taught (in my era)to gather,set and release at the peak of your vert while releasing with the tips and no middle palm touching (while in motion IE coming off a pick). Now and days ,its not that hes shooting from the hip,the new way it is taught and used now is that while you're gathering, you're in motion to shoot or triple threat way faster mentally now and days because ballers are prone to more shooting in this time than to drive and meet contact, So in turn its taught while in the motion of gathering the ball for a shot,you pull up almost like a piston (instead of setiing, aligning and shooting at peak) and in one smooth motion pulling the ball up woth you while you're jumping and releasing at peak all in one smooth flow...hard to explain but some folks should know what I'm taking about. From eye sight,it looks like a slight pause in the air that's the difference in the 2 styles of shooting. This edge helps with faster release,maximum rotation and supposedly helps wiith more accuracy at higher rate of speed also giving more chance the defender not reaching it. A good example of my era shooting and the difference of this era and what I'm talking about : Look at Ray Allen's shot And look at Stephs Shot,both great but they're good examples of how the Now and is compared to the Then in shooting styles. 👍🏿

  • @jacobdrum
    @jacobdrum 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    9:20 There's a great article somewhere that talks about his release. Because he was so relatively short he had to create his own style of shooting to get the ball off in time to avoid blocks. So yeah, shooting from the hip, but practiced as hell.

    Still early in this video so I'm not sure if they're gonna mention it or not, but Steph Curry's father is one Dell Curry, who himself was an NBA player in the league, and was on the early Toronto Raptors team alongside Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter. The guy they show at 3:25 is Dell. So even though he wasn't in a big name D1 school, that's why celebrities and NBA players showed up to his games in college.
    Steph is testament to the current era of NBA basketball. There are still slashers and high flyers, and there have always been pure shooters and sharp shooters. Steph Curry is a sniper. Full-on marksman. Just hearing about what he could do on the hardwood made me watch the GSW playoff run for ring #2. And Steph made me a believer. I've seen highlights of this guy shoot a 3, turn to his bench and start high fiving them before the ball goes in. Because he knows he's that good.

    Doesn't look like anyone has commented about your question, "did curry play D1 basketball in college?"
    Yes he did. He played for Davidson which is a small D1 college. At the end of every college basketball season they have a 64 team, single elimination tournament (March Madness) to decide the champion of college basketball. Although its not the best 64 teams. A lot of the smaller schools, like davidson, earn their way into the tournament by winning their regular season. Davidson made it all the way to the elite 8, upsetting a few powerhouses along the way. This is when Curry became known to the public. I remember being in high school at the time and had a curry wallpaper on my cell phone lol.

    Thank You for posting this fantastic video... Dan Marino, the former Quarterback of the Miami Dolphins Football team, was known for having the quickest release of the football in the league at that time. Steph Curry has the fastest basketball release-time I've ever witnessed. He's able to focus and fire the ball sooo fast no defender can set to block the shot. ... Incredible! ... Thank You again for posting this video.

    👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Remarkable stat about Steph Curry. He signed an historic shoe deal with Under Armour instead of Nike in which he received an equity stake in the Under Armour that will easily make him a billionaire. Currently he is earning 37.5 million annually from his NBA contract and another 50 to 55 million on a number of company and product endorsements. Not bad for a skinny sharpshooter that didn't even get recruited by a Division 1 college basketball program. A legend among legends. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    There's only a three year age difference between Lebron and Steph. Keep in mind though, that Lebron went straight from high school to the NBA. Steph played college basketball for three years before joining the NBA. So while they are only three years apart in age, Lebron had played six seasons in the NBA by the time Steph was drafted.

      Pierre Aoun He is a PG tf are you on? 🤦🏻‍♂️ not a bronsexual but he came into the league based on his athleticism and playmaking skills, and he's literally playing PG on the Lakers right now.

    • @pierreaoun9600
      @pierreaoun9600 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Smite Default Voice Pack LeBron is probably the most flexible player in the league, but at his core, he is a 6 foot 9 inch beast of a forward. The only reason Lakers are playing him on PG is because he can fit any role, and he probably does it far better than any of their other players. If he was put on a team with Stephen fucking Curry, why tf would you play LeBron as PG. He is ball dominant though, that I’m not trying to deny.

    Steph has won 3 championships. He's 3-2 in the finals. Lebron has also won 3, he's 3-6. Jordan has won 6, he's 6-0 in the finals. Bill Russell won 11, but he played in the 60's when there was hardly any teams, and the basketball skill level wasn't very good either. I know you did a Jordan reaction already. But can you react to his HISTORIC Mixtape from the NBA youtube channel? It's the best highlight.
