I got one of these before I saw your review and test of it and I am pretty pleased with it. It does have a low noise threshold but once you get it dialed in it's good bang for the buck if you need to go super budget.
The amp on my boat running my 8" Kicker tower speakers kicked the bucket this weekend. I ran to Walmart and bought this little amp to get me out on the water......Damn!! This little amp with the Bluetooth features rocks for sure.
That would be a good little ampnto wire up my subs in the house! Nice to see a cheap amp have real numbers listed. Thanks for the video man! Keep em comin!
I just finished the install of this amp on my StreetGlide. I'm using it to push two 6.5" Kicker Co-axial speakers in the front fairing. I'm very happy with the sound.
Great vid. I have this amp pushing a 10” kicker under my back seat in a Nissan Frontier. Very impressed, got it all at Wamalart. Dual head unit, I also have this amp in the 4 channel pushing kickers in the doors. For the money it is a great system that flat out rocks Joe Bonamassa, black label society, clutch. I put both amps behind receiver in the dash. There is that much room after thin head unit. They get plenty of air. I crank Tool up everyday and still going.
Thank you big D for testing this amp I'm currently running the four channel in my motorcycle and this thing really handles I'm running for TX 69 skar audio and this amp is doing everything it's supposed to sounding good clear I love it thank you for the dino I wouldn't have known about it if you didn't show it here on your channel thank you again Big D
People talk a lot of shit on the name but I honestly can’t recall a Jensen amp that didn’t deliver rated power reliably in all my years. I use to bridge the old blue 100x4 models into 2 ohms. We’d ride around with a bag of ice on top of it to keep it from shutting down. Never did manage to kill it. They deserve a little respect.
I was looking for an inexpensive amp to power some bass shakers on my sim race rig. Paired with an existing power this amp fits the bill nicely. Thanks for the review. Picked up 2 before the inevitable price hike. This isn't the first time your content has helped me out. Thank you
I used Jensen when I was younger because it was in my budget. I had 4 amps at one time and never had any issues with any of them. I have nothing bad to say about them. I feel they make better products than many other cheap brands.
sold my Dual XPR82D with a little Power Bass PS10 sub in a simple sealed enclosure to a friend of mine. Told him to go buy a cheap schoshe wiring kit from walmart and he asked which one I told him to just get the 8 guage kit. wired it up for him and even installed his stereo and some cheap soney speakers in his doors and I must say I've never really set the amp up in my own personal vehicle for sub use and that little shit BANGS. He was impressed by the little thing and he is quite happy with it. got him a little rattle outside now .
Awesome! Thank you! It just goes to show that you can't judge an amplifier's output based on the fuse on the side. According to the "rule of thumb" that amplifier should only be able to put out 250 Watts. There's no doubt it's efficiency helped a lot with that.
An amp’s fuse size multiplied by 10 will still get you in the ball park so it is still a good way to judge amps. As amps get more efficient with technology increases then we might have to change that.
@@91CavGT5 I know. I get just tired of arguing with people all of the time that see these videos and say "There's no way that amplifier makes XXX watts. The fuse is only XXX amps." That's all. I mean technically at 14.4 volts and 303 watts @ 75% efficiency this amp will pull about 28 amps which is slightly more but you're right. It's still within the ballpark.
The older dual amp he mentions in the intro has great sound quality and its basically the same guts as this amp. Its 60 worth of stuff in there. You are getting what you pay for, for once, with this amp. Were not used to not getting fucked over when it comes to consumer electronic pricing.
Just got one of these to put in my old 97 dodge ram. First time I've ever done anything with amps, but it was really easy to install and its compact enough its easily out of the way. For the price, noob friendly, and definitely increased the volume and quantity. Definitely was NOT going for competition quality in an old work truck with over 200k miles and a cheap 10" android head unit, but it was a lot better than I was expecting. Also put a 10" powered sub under the back seat that turned out pretty good.
I have always been a fan of the older Jensen amps. Particularly the blue ones with the sliding plexi window on top. Also liked the old Jensen subs with the blue mirror cones.
Hi big D. Years ago when I was scraping by for my work truck sound system I recycled what I had. In my 81 GMC Heavy Half I put Jensen 6 x 9 3ways in the corners behind the seat facing forward & 6 x 9 2ways aimed under the seat from behind & connected to the Infinity 3001's in the dash. The tuner was a Technics unamped head unit that came with front & rear dedicated power amps. (Both with built in eq's). At 1st I was really disappointed until I was able to dial it in after playing with it. Damn it sounded good. Sometimes certain things just work out unexpectedly. Don't be too worried to experiment. Take care my big bud!
Nice to see and old name like Jensen putting rated down! I put Jensen Special speakers in my guitar cabinet back in the day, even ran Jet Lightning in my combo amplifier. My first 6x9’s in car audio was Jensen
I've been following you since the "Big D Wiz" days early on in your channel. I love your reviews. I think we are around the same age. I was around in the late 80's and all through the 90's when bass was king. LOL. I'm still around now. You and I also dig the old school Phoenix Gold and Punch amps etc.
I bought the mono block and the 4 channel of the line up. I had to return due to no gain adjustments or crossover adjustments. Glad to see they would have done rated power but I need that adjustability as the speakers I had were rated for less power. I just couldn't trust an app to keep it in line. Great video as always. Keep up the great work. Always love watching the amp dyno videos.
@@RobertDickens2002 I had seen that but the issue with that was the gain has to be very finally adjusted just can’t be you know set to certain dial so speak but I did like the crossover features being able to just keep it at a solid number as opposed to having to adjust it but when it comes to gains it has to be finely tuned in order for not to be distorting. If it would have just left a gain adjustment I would have been all in. I had even bought the 4 channel for my mids. I returned both and bought a ds18 candy series 5 channel.
While Jensen car audio has always been a budget brand, even bordering on being flea market gear, people forget that they have quite a long heritage dating back to the 1920s and they make some really stellar guitar speakers and pro audio gear. Good to see they are releasing something compelling these days in the car audio game.
Yes but like other big names still showing what they are today and yesteryear are hardly a resemblance of one another! ;-) As for the 600W, if they printed 300W it would be correct as it was revealed the amp is capable of 300W dynamic power output. Which in a nutshell is a meaningless spec. ;-)
@@cpufrost The amp dyno dynamic test is still an RMS (root mean squared) value, which inherently is an average. There is also a measurement of PMPO, which is certainly not a meaningless spec as an amplifier can have huge instantaneous power and low RMS power, which generally related to the power supply section being able to sustain the necessary voltage over some given duration. At the end of the day, RMS is kind of universally understood but the PMPO numbers which I'm sure are realistic in most cases (2x - 3x the RMS) are the more attractive ones that sell.
That’s actually quite a great deal comparing to other amps. It’s like a big game to see how long companies can drag out Stone Age tech in car audio, home audio , pro audio have been leaps and bounds ahead of car audio for eons and there honestly is no excuse . Think I’ll go buy that Jensen 1200 monoblock at Wally World now.
I like you can specifically enter numbers like cross over etc that’s like so much easier. Whether they are ttrue to their numbers is another question. But it did it’s rated numbers! Awesome!
I just traded with a friend, that had this amp, new in the box. He bought it awhile ago, and got out of audio, when he and his wife had their first child. I swapped him a very nice, baby stroller we had. I wanted a decent 4ch for my wife's budget build, to run her 6.5" components, but this 2ch came at no money, and it'll run her front stage just fine. Plus, mounting under the seat, will add a lil glow..she'll like that lol.
I have a jensen 4 channel 400 watt amp from Walmart for 20 years and still going strong. Paid $135 back then, well worth it, pushing Jbl 6x9s and a 10 inch Polk Audio sub.
@@bigassfordsd I don't know what it was but those subs in a sealed box and a lanzar vibe amp would actually pound. Impressive back then but that was the beginning of car audio for me. I now just have a American bass xr15" which I'm content with. For now...
I'm impressed, being that Jensen is no longer made in america nearby me in Shiller Park Il. Like most other American companies selling out to China, it's a shame to say there least but at least Jensen here is selling what your buying and then some, thumbs up
I'm building an off road rig and would like some extra bump in the 6x9 door speakers and this will work PERFECT. cheap enough I dont gotta worry about a whole lot. thanks for the review!
Most R/L channels are little bit off on most amps, just nature of the beast, gets worse with higher outputs. This amp seems pretty solid for a really compact deal. You could protentially use 2 of these on a stereo board for a Shop radio or whatever with a cheapish bluetooth only HU. Would sound better than any of the pre-made stereo junk they have out on the market today.
Jensen used to be great back in the 80"s. I had 2 Jensen 6x9's and they were very clear sounding. They were so loud you could hear me coming down the street, 2 blocks away (as per my GF's mom).
And I'm still running the two channel and four channel Dual amps that Ryan dyno'd. I mean I've hammered them. Can't kill these things. And they sound good!
I had a Jensen mono block and it was CEA2006 certified. I currently have this variation mono amp and believe it's also certified. It's just running a single 10" dvc power acoustic mofo sub at 2ohms happily in a labyrinth box. Believe the amp is 1ohm stable also.
The "v pattern" in the pro audio world that's known as the "disco smile" the reason for the "disco smile" is Equal Loudness Contours or the "Fletcher Munson Curve" awesome video as usual!
I've been running this little thing pretty damn hard, wired down at 2 ohms bridged. It's not rated for it, but it handles it no problem if your gain is set properly.
I bought one, it’s junk! I’m running all JL in my truck and needed a 4 ch to get me by till my amp comes in from JL seen one for $99 so picked it up. It blew one of my tweeters on the 2nd day, thought it was a fluke so decided just to run my back speakers rated at 250 RMS and at less than 1/2 vol they are popping and squawking! I shut the amp down & plan on disconnecting it to return it! Maybe I got a bad one cuz I did notice that the LED lights that you control through the app don’t light at all but everything else seemed to power up.
@@DamonG2017 when you push any amp to clip you will get distortion , these amp put out clean power up to clip if you are blowing jl speakers maybe there is something miss wired re check everything got 3 old ass w6 12 still running off a zapco 1000 have been for 17years now and still play just fine got to say these jensen amps have the same clear sound as my zapco amps i was surprised
@@ArkansasChainsaw definitely not a wiring issue, had the all settings turned way down as well & gain set @ 2 on the DSP so wasn’t anywhere near clipping, hate to say it, I think I just got a junk amp man, if there are 100 amps in a pile I’ll grab the one that’s a dud, just my luck. Shitty part about it is the tweeter that blew cost almost twice the cost I paid for the amp 🙄
The old school blue Jensen’s still are in demand it appears. I tried to get a new one off eBay but the guy wanted and arm and a leg and I was only offering the arm 😜
I used Jensen amps as back ups, never let me down, outlasted punch, kicker, lanzar, pioneer, only amp that was longer lasting was alpine, and Sony xplode. The xplode was pretty good, i always got the biggest i could get, way more than I needed for 2 12s and 2 10s and another for my mids and highs, 3 amps total.
I was just waiting for the end to see if he would blast it at half ohm mono 😂😂 big D we want to see what these little cheap amps can really do at the "not recommended" loads it will get u more views
wow!!!... thats impressive. the channels are really well balanced too. Never thought I'd see the day when Jensen smokes PPI and Hifonics... 8^O. I like that dsp function too.
@@alluhatorrrez3724 between the alpine monoblock doing its power then, and the power acoustik razor doing its power, for $100, totally worth it for either then. You get a lil more out the razor, but you dont have the app like the alpine. I was considering these for a single 15" in my jeep. The razor isnt 1 ohm stable, but will still pump power all day at 1 ohm lol. I wonder if the alpine will do the same?
I had a jenson. Was my first amp and that darn thing is still going. Currently used as a sub amp running at 2ohms, which we all know we are not supposed to do on these bridgable 2 channel amps 😂. But hey it hasn't killed it yet after all this time
Yet another great video Big D!! A huge thumbs up for the zoomed in display on the amp dump. For those of us that watch on our phones it makes it a LOT easier to see. Hmm, I might get 2 of these for my shed audio system. One for miss/highs and the other for a single small sub. I wonder if power output at 1khz is about the same as 40hz? Hmmm......
Thanks for the feedback. I for some reason forgot to show the Dyno sheet (Big Dummy). I did some 1kHz tests and although the power was more it was not enough percentage wise to make a big difference
My Jensen DUBA2100 died after way too much abuse for 4 years, running 2x12" at 2ohms and overheated it many times. Got another amp for that setup and when adding woofers to my other car used the DUB, after about a month it kept making the speakeres hav an aweful rattle noise for some reason. Changed it out with this jensen cause it was similar power and the rattle went away. So far its working great, my current woofer is a DVC 2ohm, not sure if this amp can handle 1 ohm if i parrell it but in series at 4ohm its kicking just fine. Hell might buy a second one and 2ohm power both coils with this amp cause its cheap enough.
Wow, Jensen staying with the times. I've never really preferred Jensen speakers, stereos, or amps, but they've never given me any particular issues and always performed as advertised. Like I always say, it's hard to argue with results. This would be a really nice amp to buy on a budget and bridge it down to power a single 10 or even a low power 12 for those who are just looking for some slight bump or more depth to their particular style of music. Good on ya Jensen!
Picked this up yesterday before looking at reviews. Found it aline for 59$ on Walmart they rang it up at 109 and they obviously price matched the website but I've gotta say this Amp is pretty killer for the deal and quality seems amazing. And the Bluetooth setup I think Is a killer touch. Highly recommend to anyone running a smaller sub setup or in a budget
Have you had any issues with it not remembering settings or does it not do that? Do I have to connect through the app every time I turn the truck on? Dealing with a 2012 GMC Sierra that the guy repinned the stock wiring harness so it's been a fun time lol

Right? I wish I had a way to search through his videos by amp name or number that way if I want to purchase a new amp I see and I want to know if it's any good I can just search for it and get educated by the big D
Congrats on hitting 200k! Keep the great content coming. What you do is much appreciated.
Thanks Bid D. I've been waiting on this one. Color me impressed. Big D has "led" me to buy a new amp
😝👍
I got one of these before I saw your review and test of it and I am pretty pleased with it. It does have a low noise threshold but once you get it dialed in it's good bang for the buck if you need to go super budget.
Just bought this amp after watching your video!!! 👍👍👍. Used it to replace a factory amp in my FJ Cruiser! What a beast for the price
Awesome 👏
This channel is great helped me understand the amp ratings dont mean a thing and tune by ear for best affect!
The amp on my boat running my 8" Kicker tower speakers kicked the bucket this weekend. I ran to Walmart and bought this little amp to get me out on the water......Damn!! This little amp with the Bluetooth features rocks for sure.
Pretty cool little amp. Jensen has always been a good budget choice all the way back to the 90s.
I was on the fence about buying this but after seeing your video, I got it! Your opinion helped out immensely. Thanks buddy!
I like the cheap dual amps. I love stuff that is mostly overlooked by others.
Especially when you make that cheap gear sound good.
How did you have the amp set up for the kicker I been trying to find out all day long I have the tc10 300 watt peak power 150 watt rms
i was very skeptical about buying this amp thanks for reviewing it
Thank you big D for testing this amp I'm currently running the four channel in my motorcycle and this thing really handles I'm running for TX 69 skar audio and this amp is doing everything it's supposed to sounding good clear I love it thank you for the dino I wouldn't have known about it if you didn't show it here on your channel thank you again Big D
Congrats on the 200K subs BigD! That amp is at least fun anyway. It stepped up! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
Thanks brother 👍
I was looking for an inexpensive amp to power some bass shakers on my sim race rig. Paired with an existing power this amp fits the bill nicely. Thanks for the review. Picked up 2 before the inevitable price hike. This isn't the first time your content has helped me out. Thank you
I used Jensen when I was younger because it was in my budget. I had 4 amps at one time and never had any issues with any of them. I have nothing bad to say about them. I feel they make better products than many other cheap brands.
Same here. Jensen was my to go to Brand when in a budget and hungry for Sound. Never failed on me.
The V pattern, or what I call the smiley face. Makes everyone smile.
I’ve already had people say that isn’t the best sound but they never used an old school booster EQ 😂
sold my Dual XPR82D with a little Power Bass PS10 sub in a simple sealed enclosure to a friend of mine.
The fuse is only XXX amps."
That's all.
I mean technically at 14.4 volts and 303 watts @ 75% efficiency this amp will pull about 28 amps which is slightly more but you're right. It's still within the ballpark.
Doesn't seem like a terrible deal, good for rear speakers. For these ultra cheap amps it might be worth adding a test to measure hiss level
Just bought two of these based on this video. I have always bought big names. Thanks for the video BigD!
Who would of thought a Jensen Amp would out perform a big name amp .
Great for Jensen. Thanks for another great video Big D your still my favorite.
Thanks brother 👌
Nice to see and old name like Jensen putting rated down! I put Jensen Special speakers in my guitar cabinet back in the day, even ran Jet Lightning in my combo amplifier. My first 6x9’s in car audio was Jensen
I'm an old school Jensen person. Remember the old (circa 1990-2000)? Nice to see they still sell good stuff.
80's Jensen Triax 6x9's, legendary budget speakers.
I bought the ne and I must say a lot easier to control because it’s Bluetooth and it’s awesome looking and it runs my 12” kicker really good
I have to say what ever company owns duel/jensen is impressing me lately.
Namsung is the parent company. They acquired Jensen from Audiovox in 2014. Their other brands include Dual and Naxa.
@@thomaspepera2711 namsung lol sounds like Samsung
I've been following you since the "Big D Wiz" days early on in your channel. I love your reviews. I think we are around the same age. I was around in the late 80's and all through the 90's when bass was king. LOL. I'm still around now. You and I also dig the old school Phoenix Gold and Punch amps etc.
Same here. Class of 1996.
They do have adjustments on the app
Great point!
Yes but like other big names still showing what they are today and yesteryear are hardly a resemblance of one another! ;-)
As for the 600W, if they printed 300W it would be correct as it was revealed the amp is capable of 300W dynamic power output. Which in a nutshell is a meaningless spec. ;-)
Their guitar speaker are fantastic!!!
I just re-coned a vintage 15" jensen from a 1960 fender brownface pro amplifier..
Great videos, I watch them ALL. I even watch some many times over.👍 like this one.
I have bought a few Jensen products and I have not been let down at all, very good bang for your buck
Great feedback
I like you can specifically enter numbers like cross over etc that’s like so much easier. Whether they are ttrue to their numbers is another question.
But it did it’s rated numbers! Awesome!
Loving the extra edits, with the expanded screen
I have to admit I'm impressed. Definitely would recommend over that Boss amp that's always the Amazon best seller!
Just bought one of these for my underseat subs. Perfect power and price.
I just bought the four channel version XDA94RB thanks Big D for the two channel review
Nice!
Thanx man!
I bought this for my work truck to power cheap components but having trouble with tuning it.. I'll dig into some more of your content.
Jensin xs 12" subs were my first subwoofers! We all have to start somewhere! Thanks for everything you do Big D!!
I had a a pair of the "bass" 12's from the mid 90's at one point. Used them for a while after my JL audio 12W3 blew up powered by my crossfire vr302.
@@bigassfordsd I don't know what it was but those subs in a sealed box and a lanzar vibe amp would actually pound. Impressive back then but that was the beginning of car audio for me. I now just have a American bass xr15" which I'm content with. For now...
Who remembers those metallic blue Jensen XS 10s you could get at walmart??? Damn decent for the price!!!
This bit of kit is just as strong as it needs to be seems pretty solid. The channels are remarkably even too.
Tnx 4 all ur time and hard work, letting us know what to buy and what not to buy.
Don’t forget what CEA2006 certified means…that it does it’s rated 4 ohm power at 14.4VDC! Doesn’t have to mean anything else
The "v pattern" in the pro audio world that's known as the "disco smile" the reason for the "disco smile" is Equal Loudness Contours or the "Fletcher Munson Curve" awesome video as usual!
Try bridging at 2ohms mono and you might get the 600w Max output the box claims.
I've been running this little thing pretty damn hard, wired down at 2 ohms bridged. It's not rated for it, but it handles it no problem if your gain is set properly.
Can u test the 1000 watt Jenson 4 channel from Walmart
buy it they are awesome

The old school blue Jensen’s still are in demand it appears. I tried to get a new one off eBay but the guy wanted and arm and a leg and I was only offering the arm 😜

Just bought this a couple days ago, very pleased with this little amp, just wish it could do 2 ohms bridged.
Have always had respect for Jensen stuff. Old and new.
Go Jensen doing rated power! Thanks Big D, you da man!!
What kind of sound quality did it have? Any noticeable things that stood out. Too bright or pitchy highs?
When your walmart amp does better than kicker products lol
Nice review thanks much. Anyone has a dyno test on the JENSEN XDA94RB?
Yeeeeeeeeeah V pattern for the win! Daaam this thing is pretty rad
For the price for this amp that comes with a dsp...its a steal. ...this amp shouldn't have any cons just all pros
Plenty of cons
Thank you for enlarging that!
just got 1 for $35 used its working great as a highs amp for my doors love it so far
Awesome 👏
Thanks, Big D. Was wondering about this amp. Perfect for my component speakers.
A review of the 1200 watt 91rb version would be awesome!
I was secretly hoping at the end you’d do a 2ohm bridged test.
I have this. Just to push my tweeters. The app on the phone via Bluetooth is a pretty clever feature.
I was just waiting for the end to see if he would blast it at half ohm mono 😂😂 big D we want to see what these little cheap amps can really do at the "not recommended" loads it will get u more views

I've had good results from some Jensen products over the last couple decades.
For $60, with high level inputs and decently rated power, this is one of those gems for cheaply adding a sub to a stock system.
wow!!!... thats impressive. the channels are really well balanced too. Never thought I'd see the day when Jensen smokes PPI and Hifonics... 8^O. I like that dsp function too.
Looks like they added the Dynamic numbers from 2-4ohm and bridged for that 600 watts.
So that's how this works, marketing asks for specs, engineer ask which, they respond, YES.
I was literally just looking at these today at walmart lol. I'd like to see the "1,200" monoblock Jensen they have also.
It will probably do the 600 watt that this little one is rated lol
@@chadcurrent1645 I'm actually pretty sure it does🤣
The 1200 does it's rated power of 600 watts RMS & MORE!
I have it hooked up to a pair of Pioneer A Series 12's and it pushes them great!!!!
I just bought this today for a rockford 10' I got
Didn't try running it at 1 ohm with a bigger fuse .?
I had a jenson. Was my first amp and that darn thing is still going. Currently used as a sub amp running at 2ohms, which we all know we are not supposed to do on these bridgable 2 channel amps 😂. But hey it hasn't killed it yet after all this time

Really good amp for the money, im happy with mins, im pushing two 6inch w3's and they sounds good
Yet another great video Big D!!
Yes!! *** (Didn't want to give it away) plus watts dynamic bridged! I LOVE THE EXTRA BIG SCREEN TO SEE!!! Thank you, Big D!
Zoom in’ in fo da older folks (like me!)
I had a 2 channel jensen 75x75 rms amp back in early 2000s was a good amp for my mids:) loved the led jensen logo.
Kick it J
