It has been far too long since I've watched this. Dunno what reminded me of it. I adore JoCo - his talent, his random humor, his lilting voice. All of it is awesome.
Unbelievable. The video makes no sense without the song. The song makes no sense without the video. Both together have still a sense of randomness. And yet it makes me want to cry and smile at the same time. Only a true genius can make 1+1 equal so much more than 2. Truely impressive!
Its almost like a commentary of how all the little things in the world make such a huge an interesting place to live. Yeah, I know its just lyrics to random pictures, but still... that's why it makes me happy :)
I have been struggling for days to remember this song. All I could remember was the last line, and searching "it turns out the eyepatch is a-ok" gives you nothing.
this song seems to signify the strange insucnifince of human, in a lot of ways, it helps you get over a loss very well because it shows that, no matter what, life goes on.
I'll admit, it took me the longest time to figure out this song. then I remembered what Filtr was, and made a nice lil dent in the wall to celbrate my own stupidity. :p And yes, epic thumbs up for Slurpees. :3
@MegaAstroFan18 Yep. Coulton wrote this song about pictures that he found in flickr. That's why the song is under the Creative Commons (CC) license; because so were the pictures he used.
+ratholin First off, I said that over a year ago, what the flip are you doing responding to it XD. Additionally, I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say. I like music that sounds good to me (which is very hard to describe to someone who doesn't live in my head) as I'm assuming, everyone does. if it has interesting lyrics I like it even better.
Warren Beatty! Dear sleeping giant panda, pleasant dreams. Warren Beatty was Clyde in the '50s movie "Bonnie and Clyde". Pretty sure Johnathan Coulton just found random pictures and made a song to them.
@MegaAstroFan18 All images used were found on Flicker and were under a Creative Commons (CC) license, so he made a random song about a bunch of random pics.
For anyone wondering what the point of this video is. From what I remember all these images are creative commons, meaning they can be used freely without worrying about copyright. It looks like this song is too. It's basically a joke of finding free imaged and putting them together in a song.
I just watched the video :-) In retrospect I know I've heard of this guy at some point though I've never seen his videos. Maybe I'll give him a try. Thanks
John Green, of Crashcourse, Mental_floss, Vlogbrothers, and the author of many books such as "Looking for Alaska" and "Paper Towns", made a video of how Viacom made $37 dollars off of this song without permission.
There's a small town in the mountains where the streets are wide and still There are children making angels in the snow A sunset paints the sky at night An old man works by candlelight A tiny baby smiles and waves hello In the cold grey light of dawn, an eagle flies And the men are happy wearing matching ties A pair of poodles Broken finger will not bend, soup with noodles Female klignon's drunk boyfriend A sexy lady, this party's better than it seems Warren Beatty, dear sleeping giant panda: pleasant dreams A visit to the dentist, a place to get some pie A rainbow floats above a waterfall A ferris wheel, a carousel, the landlord never learned to spell Someone put graffiti on the wall Atop the Christmas tree, a shining star Dwyer's rocking out on air guitar A freight train passes, someone's grandma owns a gun A dog with glasses, strange balloon man has too much fun Thumbs up for slurpees If you're receiving then you're not gay A case of herpes, as it turns out the eye patch is a-okay
@awbrynes John Green's Viacom video! :) He's a young adult author, but also a successful video maker on TH-cam along with his brother Hank. The video in question is watch?v=-1PIICmNlH0 . The two of them head a very enthusiastic community of people who call themselves nerdfighters. Their primary YT channel is vlogbrothers. Have fun!
It's been the information age for quite a while. It woul've taken very little time and effort for Sha1dov to have employed a search engine and figured out what was going on here. I appreciate that he or she thinks that this video is "awesome", and applaud he or she for checking it out and commenting on it...I just disapprove of Internet laziness. ;)

Love it. Only Jonathan could sing a song about random images and win.
The song itself is actually quite beautiful. I really love the way how you don't know what is going on at first :)
This song makes so much more sense now.
Some say Dwyer is still rocking out to this day
It's Dwyer, and his air band; the Dwyer Straits.
JoCo's voice is so damn soothing.
The Greatest artist from his generation, JoCo, you rule
This is a glorious song. A beautiful tune and incredibly well strung-together lyrics.
JoCo rules.
judging by the credits and his username, he's the "if you're receiving, you're not gay" guy
a very honorable position to hold, sir
Wow, I never understood this song until now. Thank you!

Here we go again
Oh shit
been a long long time since the last time I listened to this song
@MegaAstroFan18 Yep. Coulton wrote this song about pictures that he found in flickr. That's why the song is under the Creative Commons (CC) license; because so were the pictures he used.
I liked this song better before I saw this video, I thought he was singing about the random shit that he dreams about XD
+Mereoth you also like other songs about things that exist when you think they're imaginary?
+ratholin First off, I said that over a year ago, what the flip are you doing responding to it XD. Additionally, I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say. I like music that sounds good to me (which is very hard to describe to someone who doesn't live in my head) as I'm assuming, everyone does. if it has interesting lyrics I like it even better.
+Mereoth the lyrics got less interesting because you saw the video? They didn't change you know.
the music didn't either.
+vurtualboy The meaning changed to him. Before, he thought it was funnier/whatever.
Warren Beatty! Dear sleeping giant panda, pleasant dreams.
Warren Beatty was Clyde in the '50s movie "Bonnie and Clyde".
Pretty sure Johnathan Coulton just found random pictures and made a song to them.
GENIUS!!
This is brilliant
Thank you for uploading this, .mov sucks unless you're running a Mac, and I refuse to download iTunes just to watch a video.
lol when I first heard this song without the pictures I was like wtf?
@MegaAstroFan18 All images used were found on Flicker and were under a Creative Commons (CC) license, so he made a random song about a bunch of random pics.

Very nice! :)
JoCo is my hero.
Lovely
Man i wish i had matching ties
I am shocked to see 480p from this era
John Green, of Crashcourse, Mental_floss, Vlogbrothers, and the author of many books such as "Looking for Alaska" and "Paper Towns", made a video of how Viacom made $37 dollars off of this song without permission.
JoCo is Awesome!!!!!!
As it turns out, the eyepatch is A-OK.
Nerdfighter virtual high-five*
There's a small town in the mountains where the streets are wide and still
There are children making angels in the snow
A sunset paints the sky at night
An old man works by candlelight
A tiny baby smiles and waves hello
In the cold grey light of dawn, an eagle flies
And the men are happy wearing matching ties
A pair of poodles
Broken finger will not bend, soup with noodles
Female klignon's drunk boyfriend
A sexy lady, this party's better than it seems
Warren Beatty, dear sleeping giant panda: pleasant dreams
A visit to the dentist, a place to get some pie
A rainbow floats above a waterfall
A ferris wheel, a carousel, the landlord never learned to spell
Someone put graffiti on the wall
Atop the Christmas tree, a shining star
Dwyer's rocking out on air guitar
A freight train passes, someone's grandma owns a gun
A dog with glasses, strange balloon man has too much fun
Thumbs up for slurpees
If you're receiving then you're not gay
A case of herpes, as it turns out the eye patch is a-okay
awesome
He's singing about random images seen on the image site, Flickr.
I found out I was in it from a friend who saw it on ebaums... crazyness.
@MegaAstroFan18 These are all pictures found on Flickr.

YES!
What does he say after "this party is better then it seems"
Does the song have anything to do with the picture hosting site owned by Yahoo?
This is the song i can't download in UltraStar Deluxe Karaoke :'( It says "error"
This is like NicePeter's picture songs
Thumbs up if you're watching this because of John Green's Viacom video!
Seriously.
This man is a fucking genious!
good but my computer stops occainally and i have to restart the video. is this just my computer?
Alcohol and giant teddy bears... what would you do?!
Is there sheet music for this?
Sexy has not always meant hot or attractive, it used to be used as a term for someone that could be described as horny.
lol. When he said eye patch I thought he was saying iPatch :P
@BronyMike Thanks. :D
I watched this before I watched your version.
Otherwise, I might've been first to comment there...
Thumbs up if you're watching because of the ponified version! ;D
Whoo! Dwyer xD
@CCNezin1 I thought of that too... Damn Apple! :D
Everybody's A-Ok!
Thumbs up for Slurpees!

JoCo kicks so much ass.

I'd challenge any other musician to do the same as JoCo did with this.
