Not really. It's The Who, so they're always good.... but Keith was having a really hard time and I read somewhere that they overdubbed some bits as he was going in and out of time and overall lacking stamina and precision.
If I remember, this was one show The Who didn’t really want to do, as they didn’t feel like they had enough rehearsal time for the show…hence Roger’s remark at the beginning of the clip. And, at one point later in the show, Pete’s amps start acting up and he physically (and rather violently) shoves the top head off the stage, and the sound suddenly straightens out.
@@cm8312 The Who was a rare band that sounded MUCH better live than it did with all of the studio gimmicks. That might be due to the fact that they had been playing live in various clubs for several years before they recorded their first album
I know many thought that this wasn't Keith at his best and while I do agree to a point (I mean, this certainly wasn't Isle of Wight or Live at Leeds level of virtuosity we know and love), he still has that lovely, rich sound that I really love from him, and plenty of vibrant humor and pyrotechnics too!!! Still got it in my opinion, if only he found a better doctor to help him kick the drugs (maybe someone who could watch him instead of the fool who leaves an addict to manage the pill regimen on his own).
The drug was an absolutely last-ditch effort to keep him from dying from alcohol withdrawal - he wasn’t going to last much longer either way. Sadly, most everyone seems to agree on that.
It's clear to me now really, where Cedric B-Z gets it from. Totally channeling Daltry the whole while. But props. Ya learn from the best and take it forward.
Surement pas led zeub ( zep ) ils n'ont pas cette puissante les who les surpasse sur scène les who sont les meilleurs et pas que sur scène ( Guy platteau Marseille)
Brilliant, wasn't it? Like, cars had no safety, planes got hijacked, adult literacy was low, corporal punishment in schools... Take your rose-tinted glasses off for a bit. Music and rock still are just that, but they've changed with the times. Maybe you need to as well.
"We don't know how this is gonna be right ? Cause we ain't played most these songs about a year"
*Plays beautifully*
Keith Moon is an absolute gem. He turns any Who song into thunder showcase.
Roger Says: "We don't know what it's gonna be like, cuz we aint played some of these songs in about a year." Band: Slays the shit out of it!

@@elsamoon6930 Well, I can only go by the video I'm watching. If they overdubbed it to cover mistakes then fair enough.
I thought this was a GREAT show. BEST energy of the entire band I remember......
THE WHO at 90% is STILL a better LIVE rock and roll band that ANY other band at their absolute peak....period.....FULL STOP...

The studio version is a catchy pop track but the live versions like this are just golden!
2 completely different vibes, just like some of the tommy songs live

Gotta love it when Pete shows off. Brings.out the best of the bloody Who!!
Yes Oh que oui 🤩
I dont care how bad quality it is, I'm just happy to watch Keith Moon sing while his chaotic playing.
Me too, it's enough
One of the best ever. Buddy Rich 2.0
@gregv79 on ne peut pas mieux dire très bien parlé ( Guy platteau Marseille France)
Greatest band ever great live
That bass tone
I thought this was a GREAT show. BEST energy of the entire band I remember......
Entwistle's bass performance is just so cardiac...
He’s still taking it all in
Best live performance of "My Wife" John ever sang.
Very good choice words lmao cardiac
Keith remembered his hollering parts perfectly.
Go on Moony!!!!
moonie, I want that shirt your wearing
I know Pete was pissed but MAN they were way better here than in 78.
What a band, what a song, what a fucking show !
what a way to open the show!
Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols was in the crowd of this show.
Probably trying to nick a couple of amps :)
Keith, Roger, and Pete looks like they enjoying the party until the house is burned down. John looks like whose house been burned.
Moon on vocals! :D
A.Brickman7 that’s the best he’s ever sounded on vocals, usually the band wouldn’t even let him sing cause he wasn’t the best singer lol
Very few have this energy charisma and talent
Best love band ever
The fucking rock gods in full effect
Great performance. At their best. Keith just kicks ass on drums..primo,..and Pete pulls out all the moves.
Too much energy.I love it.

This is such a great performance
The Ivy League, who had a number of chart hits, and also providing backing vocals on The Who's "I Can't Explain
2:01 i love that bass fill ❤

Pete was on fire but ...him and Keith weren't clean...lots of approximative stuffs. I love the Who and their raw sound...but sometimes ...

Pop song that morphed into a rocker. Kieth chimes in when nobody sings background verses😇

ピートタウンゼントかっこ良すぎ
That's Rock and Roll!
R I P John 🎸💋
Fabulous. But I preferred Pete's sound with the SG Specials.
ひたすらカッケー😂
Ni 40 segundos y ya vi a pete saltando haciendo el remolino y a roger girando el microfono....conciertaso!!!
Y si
No fue el molino de viento no el remolino. Pete Townsend's famous windmill hombre!
The Who's "I Can't Explain" released December 3, 1965. Earliest "punk" record? I certainly think so.
Try again..
Why would you call it a Punk Song?
High ⚡
John Entwhistle?? what a bass player?
And a helluva singer on "My Wife".
Davvviiiidddddd ✌✌
Still think this is the first punk song. Just a bit more vocal melody put the intensity is there.
Did Bon Scott nick Roger's moves?

Oh yeah of course, silly me, I have the DVD, DOH!
Top ten world band
World's GREATEST Rock and Roll Band Ever!!
Vue la même année a Colmar France
Not their best performance, but even at their worse The Who are still great.

It’s ridiculously slow

Daltrey in his Robert Plant phase .......
Wrong Plant was copying Daltry from 1969 on...
Plant always said he wanted to be Daltrey....
@@jaysantos536 Yep..personally, I prefer Daltrey's raw power and grittiness; such a classic Rock & Roll voice...
There may have been just some drug use going on I’m not sure. 😹
Pete’s jumping around like a fool. He just forgot to play his guitar. What a mess this show was. 🤮👎
