KK6USY,...Thanks so much for demonstrating what happens when you decrease the angle on both legs of the inverted 'V'! WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN THE SWR! A 'Fan Antenna' is EXACTLY what I am going to put up, here in Carmel!! Your construction-tips were INVALUABLE!! Wishing you well, Chuck! K6PAM, 73's,.. Ron.... P.S. Chuck, I loved your idea about using heat shrink and weed-whacking string......(Another Ham used a glue stick material to provide a 'locking' medium for stabilizing the wire hangers of PVC piping),... and it seemed to not break-away in extended use!! Your weed-whacking line, (with a glue stick) is a LOT more compact, less tedious, and MUCH lighter!!
Nice job. Easier way to build is run the wires 90 degrees to each other. Can be fed with a common coax. Totally eliminate any interaction, you can feed each separately. I've run up to 3 bands, but 2 are preferred. The 4ft aluminum/fiberglass camo support military poles are awesome for a super heavy duty mast that can easily be set up in 10 mins. at 32 ft. self supported. See yeah out there P2P. K7CAR
NWHiker, Yes your right It is a good way to get rid of the interaction, I mentioned in the first part of the video I had done that but wanted to keep the possibility of someone tripping over the antenna at a Park to a minimum plus it takes up less space. When I did at 4 points it was also great as guys for the mast. I want to try the military post just haven't pulled the trigger on any yet. Thanks for the the comment and for watching the video and we will make some contacts!
The No Code Tech , hey thanks for the comment and watching, I will have to try it on a POTA activation soon it will be nice to just change bands on the radio. 73
Nice video Chuck. I’d like to use it on the show. Would that be okay? I’ll credit your channel and place a link to it in the description section of the show. Nice build. I like this video the best of those I’ve seen because it’s easy build and can give you multiple brands. Keep up the great work here and on coffee and ham radios! Larry
New sub here. New ham also. Licensed in January 2020 in Texas. I am building antennas and currently working on a fan dipole. Once I get my antennas setup at the qth I want to venture into activating parks. Looks interesting to me. Who knows, I may not like it as I see myself as a rag chewer mainly. But I can also be a hunter. Thanks foe the video and it looks like you do antenna videos. I will be back. 73 de KI5HXM Brent
Hi Brent, the fan Dipole was my first real HF antenna I built it's great for the new ham that may only have a radio so all the bands can be resonant no need for a external tuner. POTA can be a lot of fun the bands seem to be getting better and a lot more hunters these days and don't forget you can hunt also if you need contacts to get your 10. Thank you for the Sub and for the comment 73.

#MNHR Team replay for the win!
I dig this, always preferred resonate antennas. What a great way to get multi bands for SOTA/POTA.

Really enjoyed this video Chuck. I think I will build one. 73
Alan they work really well and not bad to make for 2 bands just make it 4 or 5" between and you will be able to get the swr better.
@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Chuck how did you cut the plastic for the center connection? (Tool Used). TX Again 👍🏻
@@ReedAB8AS , I used a 4.5" angle grinder with a cut off disc, but you can use pretty much anything that you would cur wood with.

Even a year late, nice build 👌
Turn off the IPO to get the SWR meter working correctly.
Hi. Nice one. A field strength meter helps. thanks. 73 de g0cdb.
