I've found that when you use thinner vellum in an embossing folder, it tends to crack in places. If the vellum I've got isn't thick enough to run through without cracking, I've found that it helps to put the vellum sheet between pieces of copy paper.
Good tip! Cardstock weight vellum is preferred, but this is a super idea when you just have the thinner stuff on hand or want to use it up effectively. Thanks so much for sharing
A good introduction or reminder in my case to use vellum. You are a good educator with inspiring your audience as well as delivering lots of good information.
Thanks for the tips and ideas for vellum. I have some and keep forgetting about using it into cards. Saving this video to remind me. Thanks again for sharing.
So much good information - thank you! I would just add that it works well to use Stampin' Up!'s Tombow mono multi (wet) adhesive if you use a sponge to apply it in a very thin layer over the entire surface of the vellum. It is not visible and there won't be any warping. I wouldn't recommend this for pieces that have been colored on the back, though!
Wow - thanks for these tips! I have the vellum basics pack and have only used it once for a layer. I had no idea you could emboss vellum! I have the vellum cardstock ordered, so I will try that technique for sure!
You did a great tutorial with all the different ways to use vellum. I do really like using it but the problem was always how to adhere it. There is a product that Gina k sells in sheets. It’s two sided sticky back and works great. There is another kind that is so sticky it was wrapping around my hand as I tried to negotiate it. Forgot the name but is a common product. Obviously I don’t use that much. Lol On your one card I did not notice any way you adhered the top portion and am curious as it couldn’t stay without flopping around. What did you use? The tape runners show as do two sided tape. Thanks again for a very interesting video!
Years ago I bought vellum tape that you couldn't see under the velum. Not sure if it is still available. I will try your velum embossing because it's beautiful.
WOW! These cards are stunning. This is the first time I've seen any of your videos and lucky me what a great start! I'll subscribe and follow closely (lol) as I'm anxious to see what else you design! I love the little box with the bee on top! Did you post a video demonstrating the "bee box"? I would love to make one like it as it would make a perfect gift for my daughter! TFS
@@StampHappyNZ It's me again!!! Yes; the "bee box" is shown at approx. 9:42. You're showing how you put vellum on top of a small box you made. The vellum made a "landing" for the little bee to sit on! I hope this helps.
I was fascinated by the variety! ❤
Glad to hear it! :)
Beautiful cards and techniques! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Your daughters fish card is super cute 🤩
thanks! I'll let her know you said that. That will make her day :)

Thank you! :)
Beautiful cards! ❤❤
Thank you so much :)
Thank you for these fabulous ideas. I love vellum, but didn't have many ways to use it. I never thought to use with alcohol inks.
I'm so glad this helped! :)

Just wantwd to add that tip, great you already did that 👍
Thank you so much! Great tip. :). Great use for that silicone sheet, too.

Most welcome! Thank you for watching. x
Thank you for sharing some great ideas x
Thanks so much!
Awesome cards! You have some talented team members. On that sunflower card, what is the purple strip piece from? Thx!!!
Thank you!~ :) I sure do. I can't recall the pack . . maybe one of the Halloween ones. It would be retired now; that was a card I was sent last year.
Fabulous ideas, Jacque! Do you recall what adhesive you used for the Sending Smiles Across the Miles card? There’s a lot of open space.
I used small dots of the tombow monoadhesive glue. You could also cut it out with the adhesive sheets. :)
@StampHappyNZ Thanks, Jacque! I do have adhesive sheets that I've never used. Good time to use them!
Wow - thanks for these tips! I have the vellum basics pack and have only used it once for a layer. I had no idea you could emboss vellum! I have the vellum cardstock ordered, so I will try that technique for sure!
Have fun! Thanks for watching :)
Very pretty 😍

Hi Dottie! I put glue dots under the flowers (a whiter area) and that seemed to hold it enough. :)
Years ago I bought vellum tape that you couldn't see under the velum. Not sure if it is still available. I will try your velum embossing because it's beautiful.
Thank you! I'm glad that helped. Yes I had some, too, ages ago. :)

Thanks so much! I apologize, but I really don't know to which box you are referring. Was it in this video? :)

@@gaylerobinson6224 oh yes. It was a ladybug. The box is a pre-made one by Stampin up. I believe they were called treat boxes. 🙂
Do you have a video on your card Sending smiles
No sorry. That one was an exclusive class taught at a papercrafting expo recently. :)
@@StampHappyNZ thank you
I put my vellum threw my xyron sticker maker
Great idea for an even coverage!
