Why only one platform?
@@Dino-yu4njso you don't get overwhelmed and give up after some time
This is exactly what i needed right now! Thank you Kesh❤
So true, working for yourself on a daily time period is a great way to achieve a goal. Being able to work on things you feel passionate and motivated to do will allow anyone to show there work!
You came back when i most needed you ! Thanks a lot !
Thank you for sharing this book!!
I’ve had this book for years. It’s a huge help for me. Thanks for sharing.
Exactly what I needed to hear today, thank you! Pulling out my copy of this book to read again.
Love these vids you bring out…you have become my creative guru ❤
Gratitude for this Kesh, the daily dispatch speaks so well with the points folks miss in Julia Cameron’s Morning Pages [Via the Artist’s Way series] & Kimon Nicolaïdes’ Daily Composition [The Natural Way to Draw: A Working Plan For Art Study]. It’s the Leonardo da Vinci problem: we get auto-gaslit (self-gaslit?) into thinking we need to generate a daily oil painting where we can thrive with daily output in our sketchbooks, collecting a reservoir of creative energy that serves as scaffolding for said final [larger consolidated] production.
That's an interesting observation!
what a great video man! This was exacctttllyyy what i needed right now!
Thanks for the tips!
Good stuff Kesh! Going to adopt this into my practice 🎨
Thank you for featuring this book. I purchased it to read. 😊
Yey! Thanks for the tips! 😊
Wow the algorithm ❤ was in need of this video. New subscriber Bro.
Thanks for sharing Brother!
Keep up the good work!
Something else I think people should talk about more when it comes to people considering posting their art online is getting past a lot of anxieties and fears of drama due to having a large unfiltered/un-vetted audience seeing your work. I always internally debate whether to follow through posting my art/sketches on social media or not due to hearing about a lot of the issues that can come up (from art theft, to dealing with the inevitable Internet/social media drama), and because I'm trying to limit my time online (I have TH-cam addiction issues, and purposefully minimalize the number of social media accounts I have).
It's like either choosing to have better mental health but loosing out on using my art skills for a side-hustle (especially when finding a job, online and IRL, has been hard for me lately), or posting online to have a small revenue and at the cost of my own health... 0_0
You can actually do both. I musefl don't use a lot of social media for consumption except posting. I post and I'm done :)
@@KeshArt
That is a good point! I usually do a lot of art and sketches, regardless of whether they could appear online and/or make a profit or not. ^^
This is fascinating, thank you for sharing ☺☺
Perfect timing! I was just thinking about hmm... what should i do to improve my art after i'm done with the drawing camp? Im on the last chapter... this is perfect! I dont know how this keeps happening again and again but i just get the right advice from ur emails n videos exactly when i need them
This is one of my favourite book. Simple and engaging. ❤❤
I've been meaning to get this book. Thanks for the summary and how you're using it. Great advice.
Glad it was helpful!
Okay! I'm getting the book
Thanks for sharing this amazing book with us☺

It is hard to stay on top of things but this framework makes a lot of sense (as you said!). I loved your authenticity and personality! Going to add myself to your newsletter. I'm interested to see what's in your weekly messaging :)

1:17 as someone who plans to start editing stocked video footage, this helps me frame my mind better. It lessens the pressure of making sure every video I edit and put out is top tier.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I will put this strategy to work right away. I love your drawings. I would love to learn to draw. I am visiting your website. Thanks.
my man keshav back to chill content, niice!
Love your work, and love your advice even more. I recently uploaded my first video on TH-cam after following your idea to make an animation movie. I started making my own movie as well and upload on TH-cam in parts.
Mega fan 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Awesome content
Thanks
Amazing thumbnail ❤🔥
I had read that book a long time ago and started doing it and stopped. I probably should take it back from my suitcase and read and apply again.
Fantastic Keshav. I am feeling very proud of you and your innovations. God bless you. This is Prabhu, your Hindustan College Faculty.
Thank you sir! Means a lot, appreciate it very much 🙏🙏🙌🙌
This video is actually accurate on what it aimed to address, i can confirm to some extent (although im not a testament to it) that most of the methods mentioned here work.
Also kesh i think your art style kinda resonates with mine. I was wondering if we could collab sometime on something related to ancient indian history, i was thinking cholas or hoysalas, whatchu say?
Just want to take a moment to appreciate the videography, color grading, editing and the artistry put into this video. Super awesome stuff.... Oh... and the content is great as well. (P.S new subscriber here)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that :D 🙏
Yuuuuuuuuup kesh I am back your big fan 😂😅

hey..kesh...when will put your MANGA on your website??
In a month buddy :)
Oh, bro, really bumming out by becoming a successful artist really made me want to blow my brains out. Thankfully, I’m still well I’m still really successful. As you know I don’t know what to do about it.
?
Can you make background tutorial?
The algorithm has destroyed social media for creatives since he wrote that. No one can build a following anymore, you can only pay for fake followers or be an aesthetically pleasing person for people to look at. That’s it.
I sense a lot of frustration in your viewpoint and its completely understandable. And It's true. but so is its opposing viewpoint. New creators who make good content with authenticity will form their following.
Some core principles of community, value and connection won't change. It's just the tools we use to gain those might.
Why do people always blame the algorithm, if you make good content people will watch. It may take time but if you are consistent it is possible
James, it’s clear some people will never understand what many people go through when they got it good. It depends on your content. If you new and trying to grow your channel and your speaking knowledge the algorithm will NOT ensure that your video reach people by the masses because your speaking your passion but TH-cam and Facebook definitely will block your numbers and who sees your video and even silence you if you mention certain things. I get you bro and you are correct, and I support your comment… 🫡
Kesh your illustration reminds me of indian mythology book arts which used to me in my school library ... panchatantra, vikram betal, singhasan chattisi. The illustrations there used to take me into those worlds of thier kingdoms.. maybe u should do 1 if u havent already for children's storybooks preferably indian mythology 😊
Oh yes! U r absolutely right !

If not every, but regular, like every Sunday?
That would be a "Weekly Dispatch" so no. But it's up to you.

Not at the moment, but soon :)
Bro your printer can be being merchandise and sell them
A daily dispatch is going to be an integral component of any future litigation involving AI whether it’s defending the creation’s originality or protecting its copyright… 😉
Thats an interesting thought! Would you like to elaborate more on that? I'm curious:)
@@KeshArt an AI can’t show it’s work, just the end product. Artists can show the steps they took to get to the end product. Photos of the subject, sketches, notes, etc. I expect we’ll reach a point where it will be a requirement to sell a creation certified to be human made.
❤ please make channel in hindi 😅
Why do you wear 2 watches ? 😅
And please make video on clothing 😊….. Please :)
This only works if the platforms actually support this strategy.
I disagree. I think you are confusing tactics with principles.
Tactics are how you do something specific, in a specifc platform(in a specofc context)
Principles are how you do everything, which informs the tactics and works with it
Each platform has a tactic. Principles are universal.
The framework here is a Principle. This is what I've been using to grow to over 850k combined audience over two platforms.
@@KeshArt Sharing something every day is not a universal. I'm glad it has worked for you, but that's because the platforms want people to upload content as regularly as possible, not because it is a universal principle. You are young, so I can imagine that social media platforms might seem like they follow some kind of universal principles, but social media has only existed for about 20 years and it has already changed significantly during that time. Social media follows the design of the people who control it, and they have incentives to reward certain types of behavior. That does not mean that the behaviors it rewards are good for art, good for artists or good for anyone.
Are they good for building a social media following? Maybe, for now.
Austin Kleon wrote his books in a very specific point in time. Show Your Work was written a decade ago. The social media landscape was different then, and it is changing rapidly.
Btw this doesn't work for everyone lol. I've been posting everyday and have barely grown. These books seems like they don't cover common social media issues like ever changing algorithms and being shadow ban for no apparent reason.
Most of the time, that's just an excuse. I've had multiple moments on this path where I though I was good but don't get any attention. But in reality, you are just no good enough. There's always multiple factors you need to get good at to get noticed.
Might sound harsh, but that's the reality. The alternative won't help much :)
@@KeshArt If that's what you believe. It's why I stated "doesn't work for everyone". It's the delusion that you need to pander to being a social media marketer rather than an artist on social media. I shouldn't have to post on specific days at specific times of day to be seen. I shouldn't have to only create reels or yt shorts to get seen in the algorithm, A person should be able to follow me and see the art I post on their feed.
It's the same with yt and their 3 notification setting just for subbing to a person. You are not guaranteed to see the person you sub to so it's a systematic issue not a self issue. I ain't a social media marketer, I'm an artist and I'm not going to learn to compete with an algorithm. Focusing on my craft will get me farther than wishing I had a large following. May sound harsh but that's how I feel.
btw. I am good enough. 🖕
First 🥇
I wish I had boyfriend like you 🥰😍 impress with intellectual person you're.
They look like baby books ngl. 😂My kinds books
Cant beleive I'm this early (pin me as if I said something funny)
Are you Indian
Yh
Yeah look at him it's obvious
Yes bro He is Namma thamil payya
Yes we both are from the same Country, named:- Bharat [India].
Yeah
Confused here. The title says 'how to build your social media following without making content' and then you detail how to ...make content?? And daily content, which is too 'hustle' to be a realistic goal and can even be damaging if you can't be consistently good. Algorithms will reward you based on your last post; IG and Tik Tok need you to perform, facebook wants you to be a community leader, twitter needs you to start a fight, blogs require you to educate... picking the platform is critical, and accept that until you find the thing that clicks, you will spend time shouting into the void. The biggest myth of social media is that you can just show up and people will see you. You have to put yourself out there in a way that platform wants. For introverts that hate being observed (most artists I've met 😆) Pinterest, Tumblr and a Patreon/newsletter is best.
Thanks for your viewpoint. I agree with some while I disagree with others.
1. The idea here is to not "make" content but rather 'make art' and 'document' the process of making art.
Ex - Making a comic/or some art project > Document the journey > turn that into content (past, present and future)
2. There's too much focus on the "algorithm" these days and chasing it is only futile. As an artist/educator, I find chasing 'people' like you and finding what some creators call "creator content fit " is much better as of now.
3. Indeed there are 'contextual ways' of showing up on the platform. I see them as best practices rather than rules. You do what you gotta do in a way that fits you, your audience and your personal practice. Plus, most of the ways you describe as to how to act on a platform are assumptions until they are proven wrong. As in, there are creators who are successful who don't act this way. The idea is tonfind your formula which may include ingredients others arnt using and some others are.
Thars my 2 cents :)
P.s agree on the newsletter front. That has always been my biggest focus.
@@KeshArt I mean we could 'argue' all day about the right/wrong away to use social; there isn't one really as so much depends on the creator/content/platform chosen. Definitely agree 'chasing' the algorithm is futile but like any machine you have to know how it works in order to get the results you want.
I don't mean to say your video was useless, I was just thrown - I assumed 'without making content' meant not making content. Maybe change the title to 'how to post daily when your art is slow'? The method of inspo-wip-finished is more useful I think, as well as posting imperfectly as part of a 100 day challenge. 👍
So. I started posting what i created wich ya...led to create to post it on Instagram wich led to losing the creative freedom and trying to fit in , rn i don't share on any social media, am trying to create works for myself and like make a good amount that I can , choose works to maybe share it on , but now im like back to being happy painting drawing, animating it's love .
This was very helpful, thanks! I've been wondering how to grow my social media
