From Xena Warrior Princess Season 6 Episode 22, “A Friend in Need Part Two”: Xena asks a samurai, Morimoto, to kill her in battle, as she must be dead to fight Yodoshi. Gabrielle learns of a way to revive her after the battle, but unbeknownst to her, Xena must stay dead to keep the 40,000 souls safe from Yodoshi's spirit. I hate how painful the two final episodes are but this scene is everything 😭
I loved everything about this scene in the final episode! I loved the kiss between Xena and Gabrielle, Xena beheading Yodoshi and Gabrielle throwing and catching the chakram!

In the commentary for this episode, Rob said he didnt want to shoot the kiss scene, but Lucy and Renee did so he agrees. And, Lucy makes it clear that his direction to this scene was "KISS HER! KISS HER! KISS HER" 😂
What was his reason for not wanting to film the scene?
For me Gabrielle using and catching the Chakram was just perfect. I wish they had done another series showing Gabrielle's adventures after Xena.
They were, but they ended up canceling that too!

I never finished watching all the Xena episodes so watched this clip with great interest. So, series 6 episode 22 is the finale. Fabulous, magical, supernatural stuff!

How dare you make cry on a Tuesday morning! Man, I was so unreasonably unhappy with Akimi when this first aired (I probably should’ve been getting out more) but, now, after all these years I simply enjoy these last couple of episodes for what they were - a crazy, heartfelt wrap of TF(!)Xena!
For me that was the kiss we were all waiting for the whole series!!

I still cant forget xena leaving gabby. After everything we've been through as fans together. I still cant watch it. Its still too painful. I pray we getting the happy ending we all deserve especially xena and gab
I know. When gabs brought her back to life they could of kept her alive. I don't watch this episode because of how sad it is
I don't mind it per se. The finale shows that Xena's spirit is very much still there.
Plus with everything going on in that series there's like no reason in my mind that Xena can't come back to Gabrielle XD.
There's a side viewing order from fans that place the finale as a mid season finale and Manny happy returns as the last episode which I'm all for too.
Either way there's a sunset romance ending

Sadly, this finale doesn't show much of the real true love of Xena's to Gabrielle. Xena's decision let me disappointed.
in the finale to the tv series, Xena decided to stay dead and continue fighting from the afterlife
in the comics that follow, Gabriel made a deal with Chulthu, one of the forgotten Ancients that came before the Titans, to bring Xena back to life
Chulthu ended up rewriting reality so that Xena never turned good and never met Gabriel
Dark Xena was still a warlord with a love for violence, Gabriel had to make Xena remember her goodness to fix reality

Great scene but absolutely hated that the producers decided to keep her dead. Heartbreaking, shortsighted and stupid ending. Gabrielle was a great warrior but nothing like Xena yet she is supposed to go it alone? Xena had Gabrielle helping her, who did Gabrielle have, a ghost?
I agree. In season 6 several episodes showed Gabrielle was not a warrior of the same level as Xena. She had different skills and a different mindset that she could have exploited other than by becoming a warrior.
The "Sacred Katana" .....there is one for sale on eBay. Very hard to find!

I'm upset that I never got to see Season Six. I feel like Yodoshi was a clown of a character who was way below an adversary for Xena. Sure, the story of Akemi was a nice and sad touch, but to end her character arc this way? Bringing back old characters or having Xena fight some legendary Demigod would have made a better impact.
Oh well. We get what we get. I'm still glad that Xena and Gabrielle existed at all. They are an inspiration for both men and women. Gabrielle throwing the Chakrum was awesome. Love these two forever. ❤

I actually didn't like when they started adding all these mythical beings for her to face. It was much better when she was fighting just bad guys.

Hated the last fight 😅 Very obvious use of stunt doubles and green screen plus weird editing like in 4:15 where Lucy's lips are moving but we don't hear anything.

If he was alive yea as a ghost I don't think so I know she can kill the dead (She did it in Sin Trade) but I think she needs the person's body and he was probably cremated so she's kinda out of luck

I thought the kiss was more for the fans and forced than an natural thing. It just was unnecessary that's like oh Hercules and Ioalous were close friends too have many lives and destiny together sooo they lovers too. It just didn't make sense e
I remember reading online about "the kiss" when this aired in the US and hadn't arrived to my country yet. Tbh I expected more. I too feel like it was a bit forced and could have been executed much more tenderly. I really like the scenes Gabby and Xena have on Ides of March. There we could feel the love. This was kinda meh.
In the Herc myth they were in fact lovers. The kiss was for us but I think it's natural it has a first kiss vibe (from Xena's reaction) which I don't buy for a second lol but they figured it's the last episode they can't cancel it again lol
@Lee Brown I watched the whole series but I've also seen real women interact grow with each and have blossoming friendships and women are more affectionate than men but that doesn't mean there has to be more especially when there was shows out before Xena that was doing it if they really wanted to do it they would've did it correctly. That was the problem of the last two seasons trying to retroactively add more and more to build up to a kiss for the fans and I believe that was it's Ultimate downfall.
