No, Ruth did not change Sam. He changed himself, because he was miserable and wanted to be a better person, wanted to be a good dad and become a happier person. Ruth was his motivation. He wanted to be loveabel for her. Ruth on the other hand has still a long way to go. Right now she is the toxic one.
Sam driving Ruth to her abortion, Sam telling her she's not replacable = me: good to see a non romantic but friendly evolving platonic relationship between protagonists of opposite sexes! Winter Ball, sparkles, Sam trying to kiss Ruth = me: WHAT?! Where the hell does that come from?!? Sam's hot tub-speech = me: aaaawkay, I just might as well ship this!
The first Ruth x Sam video I've seen with S3 clips. After watching all 3 seasons again, and seeing all the things that went between them condensed like this, I feel like Ruth and Sam have one of the best love stories ever portrayed on the screen, and so much chemistry between Marc and Alison, in spite of Alison and others saying Ruth and Debbie were the main relationship in the series. But to have them "ride into the sunset" together would have been too Hollywood, and perhaps out of the arc of GLOW, so I knew Ruth wasn't going to get the movie part, and they weren't going to get together at the end. And sometimes in life, that's what happens to great love stories.
This was beautifully said, thank you for this. I think the trifecta of Ruth, Debbie and Sam make for an amazing lineup of main characters. There's so many dynamics between all of them. Ruth and Sam is one of the most unique love stories on screen and I think you summed it up perfectly
@@elisamaza8909 They did canceled the fourth season that was supposed to happen yes :( A few actors and executives said they wanted to try to make a TV movie to end it but it's been month since they talked about it, so I think it's over
When I first heard Running Up the Hill on Stranger Things 4 I was like "hmm this song sounds familiar... I think I heard it on an another Netflix show before" The thing is... I can't remember what show that was so I just did a little bit of research and aha! GLOW! Season 3 Episode 9 ending to be exact. It was only then I remember I discovered this song via GLOW and not Stranger Things lol. But anyways, both shows are really good!
Still sad to this day about the cancellation it just isnt fair. We need season 4 we need conclusion. I mean they could at least make a movie if they dont feel like finishing the rest of the season. Or they could even just release the first 2 episodes that they filmed of season 4. @netflix finish season 4 for us all we want to see the ending of GLOW and the love story between these two.
