I built several houses and cabins, furniture and all, myself with the thing. I just got a 20V Max but bought the battery adapter for my 988.It lives again.Nicad batteries sucked but I kept buying them anyway. Get an adapter for yours and keep it going as an XRP20.
Sweet old 18v ni-cd hammer drill I've used that before its a beast it's got balls I own a dewalt dw990 xrp drill/driver and a dewalt dw991 drill and a dw054 impact driver as well as a DeWalt DW 9:35 trim saw all 14.4 volt my co-workers about to give me his whole entire set of 18 volt tools he got two drills what is a hammer drill a impact driver a cutaway tool + a jigsaw & Sawzall trim / saw work light had a contract mag charger and a battery for each tool they just need to be refurbished new carbon brushes I think from some of them he said the batteries will need to be replaced I can get drop in kits real cheap like 50% cheaper then new I think for me it's a win-win I can't turn this app down and nobody gets a set like this for free he just got out went out and got Milwaukee set everything they make in the construction business he has no use for DeWalt anymore is your hammer drill still working wave purchase new or moved on to a different brand ?
