    Honestly, the skill! First five seconds, we have the gaze off camera, then duped by the BBC2 voice, then blindsided by the emphasis on the word "onto", the payoff "bus" shoots past so then on we can't predict the laughs in advance.

    I was fortunate be experience his growth .He drove the morning bus . I remember how he experimented with his voice in those days , from a suprano to to tenor on any given day . He once greeted an oriental couple with such a soft timbre that I openly wept at work for the whole day.

    As someone who regularly takes the GWR from Plymouth to Exeter St Davids I can confirm that is exactly how the conductor sounds, every time. Kopacheski's legacy will forever live on!

    Lockdown's made me really miss my normal commute between Plymouth and Exeter St Davids. Odd emotional undercurrent to watching a funny sketch, lol. Always loved trains. Not in a collecting information sort of way, probably couldn't tell one from another... just more in a lifestyle sense. Ups and downs with delays or cancellations, sparking up conversations with strangers, feeling proud to go out of your way to get to do something you love in another place. Things to miss in current times.

      In the UK trains being late is normally caused by other trains being in the way (one train a minute late can cause 6 hours of disruption in an area), thanks to how overloaded the UK railway network is. And it often happens... (partially because safely is always prioritised over timeliness)

    I had the great honour of meeting Kopacheski whilst aboard the train from London to Manchester shortly after his unsuccessful stint with British Leyland. He asked to check my tickets then shortly after announced that we were just arriving at Coventry. Dearly missed after that rabbit incident. A true conducting legend

      He's actually Ross Noble's funnier twin, and as bairns in their pram, their mam left them outside Greggs in Gosforth in the rain while she was waiting to have a stottie filled and his hair went rusty as Ross wouldn't let him under the hood of the pram where he preferred to sit, twiddling his hair in the dry.

    I was on a train just outside Exeter and it stopped for a potracted period and the guard came on and was awfully well spoken. Like Royal Shakespeare Company well spoken. After he finished I mimiced his voice and did an impromptu breakdown of his life and how, after the divorce, this was the only work he could get. People where laughing their arses off and said they'd been thinking exactly the same thing! LOL
    Edit: Maybe I should start a TH-cam channel? Hmmm...

    I still believe his infamous "mind the gap", [performed underground in london] , to be his greatest work.
    opening to acclaim and ahead of it's time on the northern line's angel platform, it is still considered by many to be shocking, a tour de force on the circle line.
