The deer lucked out with this one! You can almost see the smiles. 🦌
We couldn’t believe how much they enjoyed it! Such a hit this video was! Thanks for watching!
Just would love to see more!:These deer were so lucky! ❤
@jaykb6587 They sure were! Don't forget to subscribe if you'd like to see more!
A full belly in winter is something few animals are lucky enough to have, thank you for helping these fawns along.
The deer normally eat acorns, if available, grass, and browse. Browse consists of small branches and bark of saplings and bushes. They do get full bellies from that and that is usually enough to sustain them.
Yes having a full belly means the the digestive process also warms their core temperature,
@byrn I think you might want to do some research and learn something about wildlife before making statements like this. Deer are very capable at surviving in the winter months. Unless if the deer population is too high, there should be plenty of forage available for them. Deer do not normally starve in the winter, and the deer in this video certainly were not starving. And they certainly did not need the hay. The best case is that it was a treat for them. The worst case is the hay may have caused digestive problems.
dont be so expansive....you tube will reimburse him...his original intent
That is pretty fancy hay! Four out of four deer thank you for it. 🙂
A full tummy keeps them warm. ❤ Thank you!
It sure does! Which they certainly need to be this time of the year in Northern MN!
I love nature/animal videos like this with no music, no noise…it is so peaceful. Thank you for putting out this tasty alfalfa snack for our forest friends. ❤😊
Thank you for giving us viewing peace in this insane world! ❤
It's our pleasure! We're glad you enjoyed this video and thank you for watching!
I'm used to feeding horses, so as far as I am concerned, it's amazing this lasted so long. It's surprising how little deer eat at a feeding. But these deer, I'm sure, thought Christmas was still bringing gifts. Much appreciated ones! ❤
Deer metabolic system changes in the winter and they survive on woody browse and acorns and grasses or alfalfa/corn/ soybeans they can dig out of the snow. They are built for winter!
Hello from Vancouver, Washington! It's relaxing just sitting in my recliner on a cold Saturday morning nibbling on my own lunch while watching wildlife enjoying their special treat! Thank you!!
Hello to you in Vancouver, WA! Thank you for sharing and for watching! We hope you enjoy nibbling on your tasty lunch as much as the wildlife enjoyed the Hay Pile!
Hello to you just an hour north of Vancouver, WA. 😃
I imagine that the deer would appreciate a few more piles of alfalfa hay during the winter. It’s lovely to have a secret, front row seat to watching wildlife. Thank you! 😊
Love the videos. I am sure this area is now a "got to swing by" location for all of the critters.
Thank you! We’re so glad you enjoy the videos! This was definitely a hit and we sure will be doing it again in the future! Thanks for watching!
😊 when i read alfalfa...i said, yeah, deer loooove alfalfa! Have a good! 😊
Not only are we interested and amused, but all kinds of wildlife benefit.
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed! That is ultimately our goal! To benefit and help the wildlife while also entertaining many, so we’re happy it’s working! Thanks for watching!
I love the smell of alfalfa. So fresh and earthy. These deer definitely enjoyed this treat. Thanks for sharing with us.
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching! Isn’t it great?! We love it too! Whenever we cut into the bag the initial waves of smell are so nice! Thanks again for watching!
I absolutely love your videos. Theyre so addictive to watch. Greetings from the UK.
I love this channel!
Thank you for your support! We love that you love the channel! It is greatly appreciated!
So do I 🐾
I do too. So peaceful...glad the animals are getting fed!
Another excellent video! I was just saying to myself, these deer all get along pretty well, and the one deer took a swipe at the other one! They were all sharing when the pile was big, but got a little food aggressive as they whittled it down. Thanks for feeding the deer!
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed! We thought that too! Haha! All fun and games until one has to get testy!
Beautiful video. I live on a housing estate in the UK, I put a camera out each night and I get hedgehogs, foxes, mice and the odd rat. I do feed the hedgehogs though.
I'm in the inner city in uk and I always have water,I put out raw chicken wings for foxes and cat food for anyone else.
I used to put out several bird feeders, nuts ,mixed seeds and Nigela ,but I had about 30 pigeons mulling around ,wrecking the feeders,so had to stop😢
Thank you OT for the great video! Not only do I watch the videos in awe of all the animals that show up to eat and how they interact with each other, but I also like to replay the videos for the nature sounds when it's homework time. Living in southern Cali, I don't get to see nature quite like this -- thanks!
With all the snow on the ground, this was a life saving treat!
Thank you for feeding the wildlife!
Another video you guys knocked out of the park!!! Thank you for listening to your viewers suggestions for videos! I’ve seen suggestion for this in past videos (myself included) so thank you for being video creators that listen and interact with your audience! Best channel I’ve followed on YT in a LONG time!!
Thank you so much for your very kind comment! We’re always happy to hear suggestions and take them to heart! Thank you for being part of our wildlife viewing community! We’re glad you enjoyed!
Have you done soybeans? Do the animals like those?
@@TheOutdoorTheater
Spring's just around the corner! Can't wait!!
We can’t wait! The wildlife too!
@TheOutdoorTheater Especially the wildlife. But, speaking from a very woodsy Ohio country area, even just seeing the first sprouts of green would be enough for me to breathe a sigh of relief! LOL
Keep up the great work! Look forward to all your posts.
Another fine video with I'm sure thankful animals for the food you provide. Here in Maryland we don't get as much snowfall as you do, but I recently bought some birdseed and scattered it on the snow so I can watch the wildlife feast. I can always tell when deer stop by because in the morning I see their tracks and they leave a gift of poop. Thanks 😆, I'm sure the lawn will appreciate that in the spring. Looking forward to the next video!
Hello to you in Maryland and thank you for sharing! Sounds like your local wildlife are enjoying their free treats! Thank you for watching!
I would have thought that the alfalfa would have attracted rabbits, but I didn't see any. Another great video, thanks.
Don't they hibernate?
@@FireHeart2829 No!
I was expecting bunnies, too!
What good men you are doing this for the animals ,we are to protect them,it’s a joy to see them enjoying the food.bless you for doing this.keep up the good work.live long.
I love when I see that a new video is posted. So nice to watch all the animals enjoying the food you leave out. Excellent work caring for the wildlife, and thank you for sharing.
Very grateful deer! 😊
Very! We’re very grateful for you and watching! It helps benefit the wildlife!
I love seeing the animals!!❤❤ Thanks so much 😊
Aren’t they great?! Thank you!
Danke! I like your videos 😍

@TheOutdoorTheater I already subscribed a while ago 😃🐞🍀🌻
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying!
A big thank you for a wonderful video. Those deer really went crazy for that alfalfa. The fawns sure are getting big. It reminded me of when my brother-in-law would give his dairy cows some silage. They went crazy over it. I used to love the way it smelled. Kind of a sweet fermented smell.
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching! They sure have grown haven’t they? It’s so cool to see how they have gotten so much bigger!
Funny you mention the smell! We thought the same! We didn’t know what to expect but once the bag was opened the smell was quite pleasant! Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your experiences!
They’re such delicate diners!
Thanks!
You are so kind, thank you so much for your support and generosity! The wildlife thank you as well ☺️
@@TheOutdoorTheater😊
They did a very good job of cleaning up that alfalfa, when I was farming I grew alfalfa as a cash crop
They sure did! Even when it was covered up with snow, they picked it clean! It sure is a great crop! Thanks for watching!
So relaxing and great to watch, great video as always.
Thank you! We’re so glad you enjoyed it!
This channel has my favorite reality TV shows on it! 💕
Wonderful! We're so happy you're enjoying the channel! We look forward to continuing to provide enjoyable videos for you to watch in the future!
Great video, they sure are hungry didn’t take ‘em long to demolish that hay pile. Thanks for sharing Enjoyed! 👍
They sure were! They took the pile down very quickly! It’s our pleasure, thank you for watching!
@ very welcome 👍
Those deer look so healthy with nice coats. Great to see you providing some food for them. Thanks for sharing!
This is so beneficial for the animals inthe cold weather beautiful idlike to see different fruits in a pile obviously once a suitable for all animals
It sure is! We always love to give the wildlife a nice nutritional boost during the harsh winter months that they have to endure here! We actually did a past video where we left a pile of fruit in the woods! We linked it here in case you missed it and would like to check it out! The Fruit Pile: th-cam.com/video/PQCtzhysUBQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5RO_SgP0R3i5wXOU
I wonder if the deer worry about carbs as much as we do...I admit my carb diet may not let me watch this ...hay looks really good. Thanks for sharing and wonder where the birds are
Beautiful! Animals and nature are the good things in this world.
They sure are! So wonderful to see! Thanks for watching!
When I hear people eat, it drives me crazy. But for some reason, I love to hear all the animals munching away!
Same here! I'm so glad there is sound. ❤
@vwbeep O-H! I'm from Columbus. Yeah Buckeyes!!!
No smacking sounds just crunching.
Oh my god me too, I thought I was just weird.
Love your videos!
Thank you! We appreciate you watching and love that you love our videos!
I turn your videos on after a hard day and it is instant relaxation.
Thank you! ❤🦌❤️🦌❤️🦌❤️🦌🙂
This hay was a real treat for the deer - it sure didn't last long!
The hay was a hit 🎉🎉🎉
It sure was! Thanks for watching!
I love all your videos
Thank you! We appreciate you continuing to watch!
I live in alfalfa farming country (southern Utah) and I've seen round bales, square bales (large & small) and a lot of cubes but never a bag.
This probiotic hay will help any wildlife with bellyaches 😊
Yes, and there’s some protein too !
Have you ever putout critter mixes? I leaves my squirrels a mix of that, mixed nuts, and nuts in the shell. In warm weather i add some avocado. What about watermelon?
Animals in your area must love you
Looks like some healthy coats on all these animals!
Good warm winter coats to help them through the cold winter! Thanks for watching!
Thank you OT. Another awesome video ❤ I've often wondered what a pile of oranges or tangerines would be like. If the animals would even like them. They definitely don't see them in the wild😂
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed this video! That’s interesting! We might have to give that a try in the future! Stay tuned and thank you for your suggestion!
Squirrels love both! I feed mine the little Cuties. They won't eat the rinds though.
@@vwbeep What about deer? And thank you. I'm going to put some out for my squirrels tomorrow and watch mine 🥰
@@brianthomas3465 I haven't seen any deer eat them but they might if they are hungry enough 😋
@@brianthomas3465 also, I cut them into quarters for easy access
Love hearing them eat!❤
Isn’t it awesome! Oddly relaxing too! Thanks for watching!
fun to watch. thanks

Deers: Hmmm...Now this some good eating 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌
You probably extended the life of these deer by giving them a better diet in this cold weather. Thank you.
Our pleasure! With the harsh winter months the deer and other wildlife have to endure this time of the year, we always like to give them a nutritional boost! If you haven’t already, please consider subscribing to our channel! It helps us greatly and in turn helps the wildlife! Thank you!
Squirrel was a little disappointed!
It sure wasn’t a fan of the alfalfa! Maybe the next one!
I love this. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
We're so happy to hear that! Thank you!
Yes they like it, hope they don't get colic, sensitive stomachs when not use to it!
Hello from Montreal. Are you always dropping in the same spot ? I wondered, because the animals in the area would know to return there because goodies are always located there.
Or are you dropping in different locations in the forest?
Hello to you in Montreal and thank you for watching! We change spots from video to video to give various wildlife located throughout our large property an opportunity at the feed piles! However, we have repeated spots from time to time. We usually wait a while before returning to a location though! Thanks again!
That's what I was wondering!
Glad we could help answer the question! @linda10989
I wondered the same thing and came here to ask the same question!
@@TheOutdoorTheaterThank you so much for putting food out for our animal friends! Best regards from Seattle, WA. 😊👏
This must of been delicious 😋
you can see the deer really liked this one.
You have to do the Alfalfa again, soon! Their enjoyment was fun to watch.
I felt bad for the squirrels and mice, they're probably not interested in alfalfa, so maybe put some nuts/seeds in a pile next to alfalfa. See which goes first. And who goes for which pile.
Let's do it! I wanna watch it.
Also, I'm a city girl, Alfalfa is the barber of Seville. (Little Rascals). What is alfalfa, hay? Do only deer eat it?
We sure will! With how big of a hit it was we will have to try it again once it warms up in the summer! Alfalfa is used to feed lots of different livestock on a regular bases and deer as well! Rabbits too! Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed it!
Good video, good job bud.
More food please!!!
They have their Winter coat on :)
Hay buffet!
Oh, now that he ate over half the bail, he decided to tell his buddies.
Ever think about doing a pile of mixed foods? Or how about a 100 pounds of sunflower bird seed?
Are there different species of deer that come to eat? It looks like the deer at the hay pile have shorter heads than the deer at the deer at the fruit pile (I think that’s the video) that have longer faces.
Timber goats made short work of that hay! Lol!
Don't stop feeding them❤
We sure won’t! Thanks for watching!
There must have been a cover charge earlier!
What kind of deer are those? Love watching videos like this!
Aren't they splended? Many thanks for feeding them!
They sure are! It’s our pleasure! Thank you for watching! If you’d like to help us out and support our channel, please consider subscribing! Thank you!
Love your videos. It seems there is missing footage of the bale going from a perfect block down to spread out. 3:41- 3:48 Also the temp went from 20* down to 2*!
Thank you! We’re glad to hear you enjoy our videos! Due to the deer staying and feeding in front of the pile for many hours at a time we were forced to skip around time line clips to keep the video from being too long! That’s why it changed so drastically because the few deer sat and ate at it for most of the night! Great observation!
The squirrel isn’t too impressed with the alfalfa offering!
It didn’t seem to be too interested in it! We were surprised!
We never gave our horses that much alfalfa at once. It's very rich and can make them sick. I know that you have the best intentions, but please be careful with what you are putting out for these guys.
This can potentially make them sick if they are not accustomed to it.
Love the channel and love your kindness ❤️ 💜 💕.
I've heard that feeding deer fresh hay or any readily digestible food in the winter is not great for their digestive system, which is geared to process tree bark and the usual types of winter forage. Any chance this lovely hay will give them a tummy ache?
Plastic-wrapped hay? That has to be expensive
The viral influencers of the Minnesota forrest. I’m pretty sure that one of the deer is sponsored by square space
Cool!
The video of the row of deer head eating was awesome!
Is alfalfa healthy for deer . In New Hampshire we're told not to feed hay to thre deer as it disturbs their digestive system . Is A.H. different from plain hay ?
Did you bring more bags to get them through the Winter?
Awesome
Are these the "regular" deer or a new set?
I love animals ❤😂🎉 with salt and pepper.😮
Everybody loves alfalfa hay.
They sure do! Not to mention very nutritious for them all! Thanks for watching!
I love this demanding deer 10:00
Will they be getting another bale ?
They sure will! Thanks for watching!
So, it took approximately three days to finish the 50 lbs? Can you estimate the herd size?
Seems that deer are the only ones loving your alphalfa
I’m surprised that for a big animal they take such dainty little mouthfuls.
They sure are very meticulous in all of their movements! Eating, walking etc! We sure do enjoy watching them! Thanks for watching the videos!
Nasty looking alfalfa. I guess if you're hungry in the winter...
The deer like hay as much as cows do. Eat up, babes.
They sure do! A tasty treat!
