I always love the “basically Captain Toad and the toad brigade out of uniform” appearances, they’re pretty rare, especially post-Galaxy.
The only other ones I can think of are:
Super Mario Sunshine
Mario vs Donkey Kong
and Super Mario 3D Land
There’s probably more than that, though.

I don’t think super Mario sunshine is accurate since the manual says that is the main toad

@@Toadloveschicken it just says “Toad, Peach’s attendant” which is pretty non-specific, that pretty much describes every Toad in the castle.
In Mario RPG Peach has many Toad attendants, and in the remake *the* Toad is the only one with a blue vest.
The Toads that make up the brigade are kind of a carryover from Sunshine as it’s technically the follow up to that game. If it wasn’t for Sunshine, Captain Toad probably would’ve had a blue vest.

@@VaniRoyal interesting, I never thought of it that way. Also, do you think the the blue and yellow toad in Mario vs donkey Kong, and mario 3d land are the same toads in the nsmb series?

@@Toadloveschicken it’s pretty likely that they are I think.
I actually don’t think we’ve seen the glasses-wearing blue Toad outside the context of the Toad brigade, but Mario Odyssey does also have an extra regular Blue Toad as a part of the brigade that appears alongside him, that’s probably the blue Toad we see in other games.
Also, I know you didn’t bring it up, but the fast running Blue Toad from 3D World is actually “the” Toad, just with blue spots somehow (can Toads change their spots on command?)
His true identity is revealed when he obtains a fire flower and become regular red fire Toad rather than blue fire Toad, unlike in games like Mario Maker 2, where even in the 3D World style, the blue Toad turns into blue fire Toad (and doesn’t have Toad’s unique speed ability)

Also, Captain Toad doesn’t recognize blue or yellow Toad in SMB Wonder, but I think it’s just a weird continuity mistake, as he doesn’t recognize Toadette either (when he definitely should), he just introduces himself the exact same way, no matter who you’re playing as.
His dialogue was probably written with the assumption that you’d be playing as Mario (and maybe Captain Toad thinks so highly of himself that he doesn’t even recognize someone as well renowned as Mario?)
