I've had more mouse slips than I am comfortable admitting. They never leave you with a super wholesome feeling. Love this series... thanks for the content!
After two gifts a mouseslip... life always balances😅... but that doesn't delete your competence professionality and humility. Thanks for this very instructive serie!
For me the most interesting part was actually missing that mate in 2, which is something Eric probably never misses. This happens to me too - losing just leads to further mistakes and ruins the usual calm thinking process with blunder checks.
Thank you once again Eric for your instructional videos. Even in defeat with a mouse slip you are still humble, and you took it well. All the best and please keep smashing out these videos. They are fantastic and have helped me a lot.👍
Very instructive to hear the thought processes and choices but also to realize how important it is to try and consider what your opponent might move (threats are).
That really stinks for the first loss to come as a result of a mouse slip. If it's any consolation it looked like you were going to win. And I really like your use of arrows during the game. It's so helpful. So despite the mouse slip I still learned as much as always and still LOVE THE SPEEDRUN!
"As long as I don't get mated in some freak accident ...." First time I have ever heard "freak accident" in connection with a chess game. Late in game 2, black played Nd2, and Eric quickly said, "It's a free knight" and took it. Looking at the engine, I noticed that it preferred for white to play the intermediate move hxg6, and it looks very good. If black plays fxg6, white captures the knight on the next move, having in the meantime weakened the protection for the black king. Black has no better play, though. If he tries to save the knight with Nxe4, then Qh7+, Kf8 (forced), Qh8+, skewering the rook. The engine rates the position after hxg6 a full point better than the immediate capture of the knight. It was definitely sad to see his streak of no losses end on a mouse slip, but he also blundered the mate, which does give the loss a bit more legitimacy.
On rare occasions, mouse slips are a good thing. My cat stepped on my mouse blundering my queen, but it set up a mating net that I never would have seen otherwise. Definitely not a good strategy though LOL
My cat also helped winning a game by walking over the mouse which moved my queen. II didn´t think this move was that good, but finally we could win it together, GM Lilly and I xD
If I was White I think I would recognize that I was playing you from your ohnomyrosen player name, which would make me nervous to take your mouse slip Bishop since I would be thinking it was a "Oh no my Bishop" trap.
These things happen, don't take it too bad.. :) After the mouse slip, you were kind of deconcentrated, or you'd never allow a backrank check mate. You are still a great chess player. The first loss after 10 months of speedrun means something.. :)
This mistake in the last game is very annoying, but it wont rune the hole lovely siries, its not really a lost, its a mouse lost hahaha. Keep rolling, we are with you dear arikkkkkk
Does a player lose more points when a game is abandoned vs fighting on and eventually losing? I recognize that this speed run the opponent will not lose any points, but it is my understanding they do not know it is a speed run until after the game, correct? Thanks for sharing.
You’re a good sport Eric you lose with grace which is not something all GM’s/ IM’s do. Seems like a lot of gms immediately accuse the opponent of cheating - I won’t name names
After hitting the 'Stop recording' button: Levi's raging fit scene for 5 minutes ("how could I possibly got this stupid backrank mate for God's sake") 😀
194 games without a mouse slip is impressive on its own, honestly
i was hoping that the mouse slip was just going to be a happy little accident, but alas...
it's also possible this is just the first mouse slip that has led to a loss 🙃
you're still undefeated in our hearts

1 rating refund, and new category: 1 mouse slip loss. :)
I don’t think he can even claim it was the mouse slip when he blundered a backrank mate…
@@moocowpong1His position went from promising to hopeless after the mouse slip. He was already completely lost before the mate.
If we do this, add a category for "X mouse slip wins".
@@moocowpong1 That's not where he claimed he mouse-slipped.
Still a loss though
So kind of you to give us insight into your internal monologue while you play... immensely instructive. Thanks Eric!
+1 !
title is misleading. it was oh d'oh d'oh d'oh d'oh 40:41
edit: to be clear, just some fun. It's a great series. Very interesting and entertaining.

The Eric Rosen gambit. Oh no, my Bishop!
For me the most interesting part was actually missing that mate in 2, which is something Eric probably never misses. This happens to me too - losing just leads to further mistakes and ruins the usual calm thinking process with blunder checks.
That's a great lesson about not letting yourself being overwhelmed by emotions when you do a mistake, so to avoid a worse one.
Thank you once again Eric for your instructional videos. Even in defeat with a mouse slip you are still humble, and you took it well. All the best and please keep smashing out these videos. They are fantastic and have helped me a lot.👍
Great lessons as always and sorry about your oh no my mouse slip
you took it like a man, unfortunate but it prooves that you can be humble wether you win or losse... thanx!
Oh no your mouse slip! Chin up, we all learned something even from that. Looking forward to more great content.
Draw arrows afterwards?
Oh no! No! No! No!
Oh yes!
Thank you Mr. Rosen for all the amazing content

Loving the series so far, it keeps getting better!
haven't watched you in a while Eric I got into chess a few years ago and watching your videos really helped I'm 1900 now
Very instructive to hear the thought processes and choices but also to realize how important it is to try and consider what your opponent might move (threats are).
I laughed at the last move 😂. I love your videos. Mouse slips suck. They are so instructive.

Eric I admire how you never resigned and you always take the mate like a man. Kudos to you sir.
It has only happened once :D
I enjoy these games and hearing your thinking for play.
Mouse Slips happens to me on a regular basis ;) I really enjoy these series.

Don't feel bad, Eric: Today is Taco Tuesday, if you make it so. And tomorrow is Taco Wednesday!
(see how everything is going to be alright)
I shall be using the phrase "Oh no my mouse slip" with my numerous 900 ELO blunders.
On rare occasions, mouse slips are a good thing. My cat stepped on my mouse blundering my queen, but it set up a mating net that I never would have seen otherwise. Definitely not a good strategy though LOL
You were playing a different kind of cat and mouse game than Eric was in this video lol
Rename it Mittens
My cat also helped winning a game by walking over the mouse which moved my queen. II didn´t think this move was that good, but finally we could win it together, GM Lilly and I xD
Sad to see a great win streak ends by a misclick. Never mind, keep up the good & instructive streams 👍
It's ok Eric, even after the mouse slip, you played with so much calm❤ love your attitude and gameplay ❤

wow! first loss! by a damn mouse slip! This is hands-down the best chess speedrun (followed by Danya one and couple from chessbrah!)
Finally caught up on the speed run. Man, 2 years without a speed run video and 17 videos back to back, took me a while to catch up. :)
Love your channel Eric. Keep going.
Very informative series Eric! Keep it up!
Winning by abandonment, losing by mouse slip, I feel a bit less instructed, but still entertained.

That was a clear mouse slip, you were talking about the next moves. I would not add this as a loss. Mouse Slip category should be added.
Love this series!
You are awesoum man. Your explanations era great and you are very humble. ❤
Lol knew it was gonna happen at some point, I'll still be back to watch tomorrow
Amazing video as always Eric thankkkk youuu!
we've all done it LMAO eric still enjoying the content and instructive chess
Lmao, out of all the ways to get your first loss 🤣🤣 great games this episode Eric!
These are so fun to watch, thank you!
You're a really good player. That guy was lucky!
I wish we could get one of these every day
I love Speedrun Episodes!
Loving these videos
Thanks Eric! Tough, these things happen
Love this series
Mouse slip loses are part of every speedrun. Happens to Hikaru as well.
As a 1200-ish player it is reassuring to see back rank mate at the 2100 level, ha!
Just finished watching episode 64 and the new one releases❤
episode title got me nervous
Dont mess with the Hess 💪
Nice timing. Just having lunch at work :-)

This was a great video. I watched the whole thing.
I like white's snake-like pawn chain in the first game.
Do you recommend playing the grand prix or alapin? for like a 1600 level
This mistake in the last game is very annoying, but it wont rune the hole lovely siries, its not really a lost, its a mouse lost hahaha. Keep rolling, we are with you dear arikkkkkk
Given the other games, it would have been hilarious if Eric abandoned the last one. 😂😂😂
At 2nd game as soon as Eric said 'opponent didn't crack, and handle the situation well' he did lose his pawn and knight in 5 moves :D
There are no mouse slips or blunders, only bad gambits! lol!
Such a sad way to break the streak. I almost shed a tear.
Thank you
Thanks!
Thank you!!❤
There seems to be more tilted players at these higher ratings than lower lol.
how many puzzles do you do on a weekly or monthly basis? Could you show your Puzzle Dashboard in Lichess?

Oh no my mouse slip! Sad way to get your first loss but your reaction _was_ pretty funny, not gonna lie 😂

mouse slips sink bish'ps
pls forgive for how forced this was lol
mouse slips sink b'ships?
yeah this is a hard one.
I completely removed click to move, only drag pieces now. Too many mouse-clicking errors started to annoy me
yes but then I've dragged the piece and let go on the wrong square for some mouse-slip-type reason...there's no way to avoid it.
You started by saying you hoped to “break 2100”.
You ended broken on 2100.
Mission accomplished?
This is devastating!
In Gm 3 perhaps ... Bc5 was an error?
Nice of Eric to play with a piece down.
Eric doesn’t deserve this loss 😢
1 web engine features not disabled, one ban of opponent. How many games would you play until your opponent would totally outplay you?
More speedruns please

I see why Ra5 is good, but isn't Ra6 better? Fork plus gains tempo on other rook?
Mouse slip was weird - pointer looks like it's on the square above

You’re a good sport Eric you lose with grace which is not something all GM’s/ IM’s do. Seems like a lot of gms immediately accuse the opponent of cheating - I won’t name names
In Gm 1 perhaps ... Nc4 was a mistake

How did the slip happen? To me the cursor looks to be on c4 which wouldn’t be a legal move
