@@Uzumymw24g Better than the one Dark is showing us? :O. I've been using a pretty unconsistent Gengar EX deck, and I kind of hate it. I'm looking for something new, and this list looks fun to play :O
I find out recently that some meta decks are doing the registrike strategy where they use Thornton card to exchange one of their basic pokemon to the one you can choose in the discard for as long as it's a basic. Drago is one example that can pull this strategy. I can imagine if I made similar strategy on a Gengar ex deck, but I need to find out.
Thorton mostly is for when someone knocks out your evolved Pokémon and you don't have another basic so you can thorton something that was in play the turn before and evolve it right away. So it can give you a way to not lose when you stumble setting up. All the other uses of it like removing two prize liabilities or recovering Pokémon is better served by turo and super rod. It's a cool play but hard to pull off most games
Love this deck! I’ve been actually cooking up something similar, but offer an alternative energy turbo with Giovani’s charisma, which can in good conditions force them into using up that energy attachment which can ping some more damage with gengars ability
I've been thinking about this too 151 Persian can search Giovanni and turn Gengar Ex into a consistent energy choke deck Handheld-fan also offers some additional disruption Do you play paradox plusle & minun? I don't know if they are worth 2 bench slots but Buddy Buddy sets them up *fast*
@@rasendestroyer2701 i would say no, not because the extra damage isn't worth it, but I'd rather have an extra Gengar or have space for pecharunt and a draw/search engine for consistency
I played a Gengar-ex like this and had the best TCG moment. Played against a baby Blood Moon Ursaluna (type disadvantage). However, I had 3 Gengar ex in play and my opponent played down a Frozen Mountain. A turn later my opponent played down a baby bloodmoon with its ability ...instant knock out xD
First match was against the slowest player I've ever seen. They had to let the clock run on every action. They had used double the time you had and were still at 5 prizes
I feel like Handheld Fan is better for Gengar. Even with mochi, you're still 2-shotting most of the big guys out there, and fan just adds a little more energy disruption
Yeah, honestly, the difference is so small. This helps with hardly any break points (except against Pokemon like Rotom and Lumineon), as almost all EX Pokemon get two-shot by Gengar with or without Binding Mochi, and almost all single prizers get one-shot without it.
It’s funny I’ve read so much how Gengar decks suck & he’s one of my favorite always wanted to make his deck but I didn’t bother & now I’ve played against Gengar 5x and they whooped my ass all 5x 😂😂
Are you going to Baltimore next week? If so what deck are you going with. I’m playing regidrago since it’s finally good after 2 years. Still working on my list tho😢
I played against this same exact list with my Miraidon list and yea, it was very much keeping up with me. Won with just a single prize lead, was tough.
Gengar has been viable for a little bit now. These new cards just make it more viable, and easier to keep up. Gengar ex is the only deck I’ve been using for the past couple months. From before the expansion and now afterwards. I love it, it’s just a really fun deck. And he’s my favorite Pokémon lol but yeah, he’s completely viable. He does have some drawbacks at times, but overall really fun and mostly viable. My deck list is definitely a little different than this. He’s using double the amount of Pokémon I’m using. And my tech is slightly different as well.

You should look into Arbok EX and Gengar EX - Janine is cracked and it the hand control and energy punish is quite oppressive
Deluxe bomb with stellar Crown would be a sick Ace spec for gengar I reckon😊

Thank you!!! I opened its full art and ex on my bday. This deck is cracked tyvm. Definitely going to be my first irl deck.
Ooh I've been wanting to build Gengar ex

Handheld fan is cool too
Mis-played with the pech/gengar combo. Use a mon that doesn't have mocci on it then swap in gengar to poison him for the extra 40 damage
I felt that way too hard when your opponent got Vstar and Eswitch after your stamp (11:38) and you realize the Unfair Stamp is a lie. rip homes 🙏
I think I'll pair my Gengar Ex
with 151 Persian to search Giovanni
that way i can fully commit
to playing it like an energy choke deck
Holy fuck, that Regidrago ex player ran the clock down LOW.
Would it be worth playing Radiant Alakazam to move some of the ping damage about?
Its damage output is just so trash even with all the extra
Yeah, honestly, the difference is so small. This helps with hardly any break points (except against Pokemon like Rotom and Lumineon), as almost all EX Pokemon get two-shot by Gengar with or without Binding Mochi, and almost all single prizers get one-shot without it.
@@iliya1933 loyal three can hit 300 damage with half the steps
Depressing that a few years back anything less than an OHKO became pretty worthless outside of very niche scenarios.
Ive been playing Gengar EX with shady dealings and quick shooting in expanded. Helps with the damage a bit.
Yep

How do you consistently find the slowest and most incompetant opponents 😂
Chein pao dies like imediatly 😂😂😂
I play gengar almost exclusively, such good fun to play with!
What would you remove to make room for Radiant Alakazam?
Not sure tbh
Radiant Alakazam would be good in this
You should do a Tyranitar ex deck. Bulky 340 HP boss with a whopping 250 attack with 2 energy. WOULD BE MUCH COOL AND APPRECIATED
Been a while since ive played it!
Your openings getting better and better 👌
Thanks!
As always my man making sick decks...sending love from Mexico bro!!!
😃
Gengar would be good if his attack was 180 dmg instead of 160. Cool concept card fumbled by Pokemon company.
Even 170 to be able to 2 shot the big exs

Dang, it’s a bit late for bad deck Friday, isn’t it?
How come you don't use Munkidori to heal off the poison damage?
Eh idk no bench space
