U said that it reminded you of the “US” movie, It’s because it’s actually based from that movie
The hanja for “BE” means sad/sadness which is why the title of the song is BEcause bc of the double meaning. so when sua says “I don’t wanna BE” I think she’s saying that she doesn’t want to be sad or have this sadness anymore

the mv has some references to the movie "us" i believe and it was a special album so it doesnt tie in w any of the other storylines. so u were right LOL i just got to that part of the vid
the BE in the title is capitalized because it is also the Chinese character for "sadness"

I would definitely recommend going back even if it's just on your own because their last couple projects have some of their best songs on them.
the song is about love turning into obsession, it was inspired by US & the doppelgangers in the MV - one that is normal & the other one is the obsessed one

The lyrics saying ' your face turns blue like ocean view', I think that they have given them poison as " something sweeter". 😅
There's something about DC's mix in general, that always sounds DC no matter what concept or genre they try. 👍

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that.
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even include the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

You need to listen to their Tree of Language album because it is incredible!!!! You should definitely do a reaction video to it because it is just soo good and it has soo many amazing songs, it really shows their versatility, what they can really do with their music.
yes I definitely recommend going back to listening to their old albums especially dystopia: tree of language. The b-sides in their album are extremely diverse and nothing like any other album. Though, the other albums hit different aswell

You need to listen to at least Dystopia: The Tree Of Language (but i recommend all albums 😁), its a true masterpiece of an album.
But all Dreamcatcher songs are fire, so i would really appreciate your reactions to at least their MVs that you missed (Deja vu, Scream, Boca, Odd Eye)
