Medea is also noted to be extremely strong even among casters, and that’s not even really accounting for Rule Breaker and how it’s anti-almost anything that is even vaguely based on magecraft and rituals.
She’s cracked. Unfortunately the story requires her to job all the time, so she dies before she really gets to show off.
She didn't job. It makes total sense how she was beaten in each route.
Honestly, Medea is one of the servants I've slept on. She's supposed to be top 5 among the Casters from the Age of Gods, yet doesn't really measure up to the busted likes of Solomon or Merlin.
And she gets clapped in every route. It wasn't particularly close either.
Suffered most unkindly from "Early Lore Syndrome".
In Medea's defence, during the UBW route she had almost more than half the Servant power in the war and an empowered Master who could swap hands with a Servant. If Archer wasn't such a Sussy Baka and she wasn't such a fool for love, everyone else in the war would have had a real problem. That includes Gil.

@@eonnexus It's probably with the fact that Gilgamesh wasn't PART of The Holy Grail War is why she won it, and then she immediately got jobbed by Gilgamesh.
There's a reason why Shirou was the one who had to fight Gil and not EMIYA. Shirou's a normal human, which caused Gilgamesh to underestimate him and hold back even more than normal. If Medea starts slinging space warping shit around, Gilgamesh won't take her seriously, but he ain't gonna be holding back nearly as much as he did with Shirou as well.
Man would probably just use that one blade he had to freeze space, or have the dimensions of his scythe teleport and cut her head off or something.
Medea is in the same vain as Cu. She's an absolute unit, and she shows it. But she also jobs in every route, and unlikely Cu, she doesn't have Battle Continuiation, so when she jobs, she stays jobbed. Add in that the bulk of her showing are FSN or played for laugh in HA or CP, she doesn't come across as particularly powerful even though she was easily top 5 Caster for the longest time.
Looking at it from that angle. This really describe her situation. Granted it’s possible she and Cu aren’t the only Servents like this. If we take into the account all the new ones that been introduce from Grand Order, Fate Extra and shows such as Apocrypha.
@@sleepylmguy9968 oh, there are definitely others. Even setting aside the spin offs, FGO has enough comedic events to create that scenario. Like Nobunaga as an example. She doesn't come off as all that powerful, but she could probably 1v3 Karna, Glgamesh, and Arjuna Alter. Demon King just straight up one shots them.

As we've seen in fgo adding to the throne isn't really that hard, and given the fact that we can summon Kojiro in fgo it seems like she succeed in one timeline unless there is an interlude or event that suggests otherwise that i have forgotten

It's a shame we never got to see Medea at least try to fight Heracles in any of the routes. These two have history and you're not going to have them interact? What's the point of them both being summoned to fight in the same war?
Maybe that was purposeful though. Medea didn't want to go after a friend.

That doesn’t seem like Medea’s character. Wasn’t she planning to fight Heracles after she gained full control over Saber? Besides if she wants the grail she’ll need to kill all the other servants anyway.

Finally, I've waited for the video on Medea.
She is the most underrated servant in the Grail War.
As you said, she is one of the most powerful servants (and mages) ever to exist, with magic impossible to make in modern times. She has almost unlimited mana and can control all servants with her Rule Breaker.
I feel like she was played dirty in the FSN timeline, like Cú Chulainn.
If she didn't have an almost useless master, wasn't battling 1v3 with Archer, Saber and Rin and had more luck to not be countered at every steep. She might have the biggest chances to win the Grail War. Gilgamesh is a menace to fight, but if she's got all other servants under her control she might beat him, possibly.
I love the original Medea in FGO. For a long time, she was my highest ranked Servant, and she got me through a lot of early content. She was even the one to strike the final blow against Solomon in my team.
Sadly, she has received no love and no buffs from FGO, even as other Servants, like Emiya, Cu, Heracles, Medusa, etc, received multiple buffs and upgrades. It makes me sad, but she's still one of my favorite Servants; maybe someday, she'll be raised to the power levels she deserves.

Oh this is gonna be an easy comment on my end.
Medea: With her face covered, she is very very mysterious and pretty much an alluring character but then the minute you see her full face it's like oh my God she's cute like really cute. Not to mention thanks to the Dub of unlimited blade works I have so many jokes I can make oh so this is what happened to Mai from the first half of yugioh or Makoto from Devil survivor 2 you look different somehow. Finally her back story really did make me feel for her at least in the unlimited Blade works timeline so yep definitely can't sleep on her even if I wanted to.
She isn't particularly strong physically but she makes up for it with her magecraft and utility. Other servants are really good at just fighting but that's like the only thing they do, they aren't capable of other things like item construction, creating bounded fields, teleportation, possession, and transferring mana. This is the perk of most casters as they tend to lack physical prowess but make up for it with versatility and utility.

Her being three star servant dosen't help.

I think the thing with Medea is that fighting isn't her specialty. She is incredibly powerful so she is a top fighter regardless, but when you re fighting élites who both have extraordinary abilities and extraordinary battle insight she can be taken advantage of. That and she is not the most stable person in the world
It's brought up in fgo for example. We fight her lily form and although she is still cracked, as a fighter she wasn't all that
However though realistically the shit Chaldea should pull with a loyal Medea as support should be cracked. Hell lb3 entire scenario wouldn't work if we had her cuz she would just neg the poison easily

Wouldn’t dream of it. There’s a REASON she’s one of my three favorite Casters.
The Fact she is Top Five Caster is Insane, the two first are obviously Solomon and Merlin, the third and fourth could be : Morgan, Circe, Taikoubou, Abe no Seimei...
They are all monster and Medea is terrifying she will probably not win in a direct fight but she doesn't need, all she need is one hit with rule breaker on an other servant and buffed him. She could easily kill any master who make a little mistake, take the Graal without finish the war. She is a Rule Breaker after all and anybody know of hard is it to play against someone who use is own rule. That's why I think she should be EX rank her dangerosity can't be measured

Honestly, for the sake of my sanity I would force myself to justify that she let Rin get the upper hand on Purpose ever since. She's packing heat yet never backs it up when its time for a cook-out, which leads most viewers believe she is one of the weakest servants... a shame. Though its understandable when all Servants keep spamming that damn Magic Resistance skill, that's the one flaw in Nasu's world-building!
Rin got the upper hand due to her ego. Medea didn't expect modern mages to use hand to hand combat. So she was caught off guard and she seems to havevthe classic wizard weakness of behavior glass canon.

I think the main problem with her is that, while she has the magic, she doesn't really have the experience to use that magic and is very over confident to the point where she spent most of her pre war prep time preparing for the future instead of making mystic codes to use for the grail war
