As a Portlander, I take MAX for granted sometimes. But I miss it when I visit a city that doesn't have a good way to get to and from the airport. One correction, that's Pioneer Courthouse near the end, not city hall. It is still in use as a courthouse.

Hello Conor Gilles, Thanks for your comments on using the Max to get to and from the airport. I agree, in other cities it is hard to find such a great way to travel. The whole network of the max and street car system is an excellent way to get around downtown and other areas. Thanks for the info on the courthouse.

Hello Nikki, I hope you are able to take the light rail or already have taken it. Yes, this is a great option. It will get you where you want to go and save you money.

I live in Portland, I flew out of Portland 1st time in 38 years in October. The Max was so easy, you don't have to arrange for someone to meet and pick you up if you are independent person like i am. It was great

Thanks for your comment. I was amazed at the whole system once I tried it out. From Max to the streetcar.

I've taken it a few times when visiting Portland for work. It's the best way from the airport to downtown.

5:57 The population of downtown is definitely not 650,000. The entire metro area has roughly that many people. Maybe that's what you meant.

The best time is July and August. The weather is the best in those months.

Great Vid! Just a heads up - you crossed over the Steel Bridge - the Broadway just carries Streetcar on 4 shared surface lanes.

Hi, great tip!! Please, I'll be in Portland for 11 hours in a connection next Friday. Is there anywhere in the airport or downtown near the train stop where I can leave my baggage? So I can walk around free? Thanks in advance.

Did you ever find a place to leave your baggage?

That Bridge is the Steel Bridge it is Black, and NOT the broadway bridge. The steel Bridge is where the max crosses the river, its got rails for freight trains and amtrak under it. the broadway bridge is for cars and the portland street cars only. Three Bridges look the same Broadway bridge, Steel Bridge, and the Hawthorne Bridge. If ur going to be doing videos in cities try and get facts right. Im 13 and know more about my city and other citys then you do.
