    No BMS, no balancing, over charging and the charger set to Lead Acid....What are we looking at here ?

    Why are you not using a BMS with active balancing?

  • @lnxpro
    @lnxpro ปีที่แล้ว +7

    You need a BMS. charging cells such as LiFePo4 without a BMS will get you exactly what you see now, out of balance cells.
    Alternatively active balancers while charging are also suitable if you watch the voltages closely and not go over 3.65v per cell.

      100% agree,I don't get how you not have a BMS.

    You should use the JKBMS. They have a decent active balancer. I use these on every battery I build, no problems

      This video is more about the cells themself rather then anything else. Thanks.

    I purchased 16 of these cells and i capacity tested EACH cell and they all tested in the 310-315ah range with charge and discharge at 40amps. These are well worth the money. Even if they were at 280ah it’s still with the money like you stated.

    Offtopic.. can you test that TBD Shunt accuracy? Like you did with victron. Also does it have uart? Thank you

    Have you looked at the eg4 280ah 48v battery, I think it is 14.3kw for about $3900? Just a thought and you have a warranty.

    Is it an invisible BMS i can see here ?

  • @rv10flyer84

    Try cleaning all connections. Apply MG Chemicals 847 Carbon Conductive Assembly Paste. Parallel them, top balance again, install JK BMS 2A balance…they’ll be like new again. I have 160 280ah’s running great almost 1yr.

  • @davidniquot6423
    @davidniquot6423 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    You need to put them in parralel, charge them at 3.6V then let them settle for .. 2 days .. check the voltage ... this last voltage multiply by 4 .. this is the voltage you should charge your pack .... maybe a little higher to acelerate charging ..but not by much.
    AND you need a BMS, some of your cells are overcharged, they are charged OVER the specifications !

  • @ricardomarcelino8388
    @ricardomarcelino8388 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You cannot do a correct review without paralleling them and do a top-balancing.
    Sorry, but your review is not accurate even by a long shot. And just the fact that you charge them over 3,65V seems that you are not doing the correct thing.
    We can't make any assumptions without a full charge and discharge capacity test. I think you are assuming a lot of things without the correct way of setting up.
    First thing on a LiFePO4 is top-balancing, and then everything else.

    I've just accepted that they are what they are.
    I only charge to 3.40V and discharge to 3.125V per cell.
    I got rid of my LV6548s and now have a 15k Sol-Ark.
    42 panels made 65.6 kWh of power today. I had a peak production of 10200w. It is so relaxing to not have to do one thing at all to the system except drool over the charts and graphs.

    No shit. You don't have matched cells. If you haven't capacity and IR tested them then you could have anywhere from 319Ah to 324Ah. 5Ah is enough of a difference to have a cell at 3.40 and another at 3.70 I think
    304Ah is the nominal/typical rating...might be the minimum rating.

    Why not just get the eg4 server rack batteries? US Distribution and warranty

    • @onthelake9554

      Still double the price of DIY and you don't know what you have.

    • @randybobandy9828
      @randybobandy9828 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wayyyy more expensive. Server rack batteries are about $300 a kwh. Raw cells from China are $130-$140 a kwh. When you're talking a large system(25kw- 80kwh), that makes all the difference in the world.

  • @dangoras9152

    I would go thru signature solar and get there diy packs for 400 or just get there eg4 that what I have and u can't beat that price they are awesome.... Keep it up brother...

    I hear that. Ya if you compare em to a mach e 100kwh, prob so. lol. I'd prob. use them for a 30-50kwh off grid system if i do it. Its the home battery in my van and so far has done great. About 11 months old now, 280ah with the radio b tech BMS. Have'nt had a ton of hard use yet, but has done pretty good.

    I don't doubt you are correct they must have 1000's that don't make the standard, I know every manufacturer has seconds to sell would be nice to know what they are but like you said we work with what we can afford. On the foundation we always dig a low spot on the outside and fill it with stone and a pail with no bottom for the pump to sit in and it keeps the work area dry. Nice garage and take care.

  • @vb9528
    @vb9528 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    so you show us that you have unbalanced cells. lol. That os perfectly normal. If you look on the lifepo4 voltage chart you will see that it goes up very quickly from 3.4 to 3.6V. That is phisics law, perfectly normal. I charge them to 3.45V and use a balancer 2A. o have them for 2 years, 600 cycles until now, no problems. capacity as stated.
