    Any & everything has it's pros & cons. It's always good to be well informed about important things in life. This was very informative and exceptionally well explained. Ty.

    Jamaica definitely need these types of regulations! The general population needs to be educated about these things

    Good night, is there a maximum number of MRI, X-rays, CTC scans as well as Dental XRAYS in a year?

    What a coincidence, last night I added an emf radiation meter to my cart & this morning this gentleman confirmed my suspicions...Yet still it would be nice to have known this before I discovered it myself

    The sad part is if you don’t see the authorized certificate and you leave you probably can’t find one within 30 to 40 miles because a so Jamaica roll

    What about the cell sites?

    • @Dr88Keyz
      @Dr88Keyz 12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      No. Cell sites (and TV, radio broadcast antennas) transmit using non-ionizing radiation, so they don’t pose the radiation risks/issues being discussed.
      That being said, cell sites and high-power transmitters for radio, TV, etc can cause heating of body tissue if one gets within a couple meters while they’re transmitting which is one of the reasons (besides security) those antennas often have fences/barriers to keep the general public away from the antennas (the high elevation of the antennas is to increase the transmission range, but it also helps with safety).

      @Dr88Keyz how do you think it would affect someone who lives basically at the foot of the cell tower?

      @@Dr88Keyz Thank you very much for your explanation.

      @@staceynemwilson It really would depend on what the actual distance is and the transmit power, but I wouldn’t expect it to be an issue since transmitter power is regulated and cell towers are meant for relatively short distance communication. I don’t know about the regulations in JA (but they do have regulations), but here in the USA power levels are regulated by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and providers are required to ensure power levels are safe at the closest distance the general public would be relative to the antennas/towers… providers are required to do the necessary periodic testing for public safety and compliance with applicable regulations -> it’s part of what’s required to get a license to transmit.
      Cell towers only need to be able to transmit with enough power to cover a few miles or less: cell sites are usually less than 1/2 - 1 mile apart in the city/urban areas and use lower power, but in rural areas they may use higher power since the cell towers may be up to 3 miles apart. In either case, the providers would need to ensure that the power levels are safe for the public at the closest proximity to the cell tower. If cell towers transmitted much beyond the range of the next closet tower there would be interference which would also reduce the number of active calls happening (providers wouldn’t want that since they’re trying to maximize the number of active calls)… as one drives around, their call is handed off from one cell tower to another when the caller is within a certain range of the next tower.

    The users of these machines are mostly about 10ft away in another room, so they are rarely concerned. The authority should go to these places and make their checks, didn't sit and wait on individuals to make a call, these businesses are registered.

    They need to visit and investigate public hospitals that have nurses, nurse aids and some doctors having to hold babies and young children during these Xray procedures without proper protection guard. Many of these medical personnels have as much as 8 babies to hold per day during these procedures, all while improperly protected.

    What of the x-ray machines at the security check points in the airports. Are the security officers at risk working there on a regular basis without any protection.

      I remember while on training, whenever they had to do X-ray on the babies and we had to assist we were given lead jackets to wear.

    And yey there are talks about nuclear facilities coming soon to portmore..ever since always heard that radiation in all forms is detrimental to human health, all forms if cancers..people should voice here concerns and if needs be to stop go further..at the end of the day each man's health most valuable to him/ her no matter wealth or pursuit of selfish ambitions

    Ignorance is not something to dwell in . This so called learned person is filled with ignorance. The x-ray in dental offices is not at the level to cause harm. Fact! I am sure there are areas in Jamaica that give more radiation than an ordinary dental x-ray.
