      My parish growing up in the suburbs of Chicago was one of the first parishes in the US to have a Perpetual Adoration Chapel. I remember the police department would comment on relative to the other towns in the area ours had significantly less crime, not that the others were terrible, but there was some gang activity, theft, and the like.

      Self-hatred is using the truths about a person's sin in their life to make a person hate themselves, to the point of believing they aren't worth saving. By this one, someone hearing of Christ's love while suffering in self loathing they will say, "Too bad, I've gone too far." Rather than accepting the gift freely offered.

    Formation of children: pray with them. I've been going through a divorce which I have faith won't last. But we have four children. I pray with them all the time when they're with me. In the car. Morning, noon, and night. Pray with your kids. Not bragging, but my 8 year old asked me to pray the rosary in the car on the way home from basketball. I'll take that as a sign I'm doing something right. When your kids see you prioritize prayer, they will prioritize prayer. And that's what keeps the door open to God and a holy life.

    Meekness is a great word. It's also an equestrian term, which helps us understand its meaning. They call it "meeking the horse". Which is to say, you're bringing the horse under control. When you think about the great power that is brought under control in a horse, then we begin to understand what it is to be meek. It's not that we aren't full of passion, or strength and power, but that in meekness, we bring that male virility under control, and we keep it in control even when it wants to run wild. We direct that passion, that strength, is such as way as to bring about the good. That's meekness.

    • @jamesengesser1054

      @christophernaith6987 I understand your comparison to some extent, but tbvh bring a horse to meekness to control it is not a great analogy. The horse submits via fear!!! We humans make it submit by destroying its soul. It's actually rather horrid. But, because humans have done it for centuries, we see it as "normal." Terrible, really. Ww humans can't leave animals alone. Our cruelty is quite outstanding.

    • @christophersnaith6987
      @christophersnaith6987 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@panes840 This is fanfic. Real equestrians love their horses, and take really great care of them. If meeking a horse is evil, as you suggest, then so is training any animal to do anything. Heck, so is disciplining children. It's pure nonsense.

      Not a study Bible, but Robert Alter’s translation of the Hebrew Bible has tons of footnotes that are great if you want to understand the nuances of Hebrew that get lost in translation, which also helps to understand the stories better. Almost every line has a footnote discussing why it could be translated one way versus another. Also helps bring a lot of appreciation for the literary quality the original.
      It’s in three heavy volumes. If you don’t want to buy all three and aren’t familiar with how the Jews organized their cannon, just be aware it’s a little hard to guess which books would be in The Prophets versus The Writings. (For example, Kings is in Prophets, but Chronicles is in Writings.)
      I mostly use it for reference

    I realize we all have referred to music of Jesus to Jesus as praise AND worship. Actually, it's ONLY praise. Worship is Sacrifice of the Mass of Jesus, the Lamb. Worship referring to singing and music is a Protestant reference, NOT a Catholic referrence. Music in the Catholic should not and cannot be referenced as worship, because it diminishes the importance of true worship od God though the sacrifice on the altar. Praise music does not at all equal Worship. The Israelites worshipped with sacrifice and we, Catholic Christians, worship with the Holy Sacrifice of Jesus :) Another one of those Protestant characteristics that infiltrated the Church.

    Why did he just throw up a huge Marian road block between sinners and the ONLY mediator, Christ Jesus, who can reconcile sinners back to the Father? Sinners don't need to be found in Mary or her womb to be saved, they have to be found in Christ. Lord, Please prick the hearts of those watching this content to pick up their bibles and read it daily. Please place your children in their paths to share your gospel that is your power unto salvation. In Jesus name, Amen. ❤

    I am so sorry... I putted up with the whole joke while praying, then I had to leave when he called Roncalli a saint...

      @hamie7624 no he is not. All canonizations in the new process of canonization are questionable. How could a friend of the communists be called a saint? I don't know.

    I don’t like this guy. His interpretation of our lady is borderline idolatrous. It truly diminishes Christ.

      @@Catticombs Then don't be squeamish about honoring Mary. If you think Fr Boniface is going to far, you would be utterly scandalized by what men like St Maximilian Kolbe or St Louis De Montfort have said.
