Why? Between England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland (both Northern and Republic of) a huge slice of America shares that heritage. The only other ethnicity that comes close is probably Germany. Just because we don’t like to follow their orders does not mean they are boring.
During a time when we're seeing our so much of our history bastardised, rewritten and destroyed in many cases, I don't think it's so much the people of the royal family, it's the traditions as well as their willingness to not let that happen with their history; warts and all.
Excellent video, apart from the casual shade thrown at Edward VIII/The Duke of Windsor. He was a far more complex and sympathetic figure than he's given credit for being.
In regards to your question about other celebrities, wearing a kilt I can only think of one minor celebrity who is a TH-camr and goes by the name of Fandozzi Fabi? He is the one I would use as an example for a great kilt. my opinion is a great kilt can either be formal, semi formal or for leisure . I have only observed him wearing it for leisure, hiking, etc. in the original simplicity of the great kilt combined with its practical usage intrigues me.
I am 74 Years of age and i started wairing a Kilt at the age of 3 and i still do. I found the best thing you can do is use comon sense. It is not a fancy dress, it is a national dress dont disrespect it. Im not against change or fasion, i also have a Utility Kilt
My celebrity of sorts is my uncle. He's one of the greatest men I've ever had the honor of knowing! He's piped since forever. Seen him in Highland wear my whole life. Even took his pipes with him to Germany where he was stationed before requesting Viet Nam where he would eventually become a POW. He's one of about only 30 Americans to ever escape his captors. He had dinner with John Wayne, who asked my uncle if he could sit at the table. I could go on for hours, but in short, my uncle is my celebrity.
+USAKiltsOfficial *Thanks for the historian perspective.* Royal Stewart Modern is the favorite Tartan for certain o' the House of Mountbatten Windsor (GBR). His Current Majesty (viz., Charles III, by the Grace of God King of Great-Britain and Northern Ireland and of His Other Territories and Dominions, Defender of the Faith, &c.) wore several restricted Tartans (e.g. Balmoral, Rothesay, Prince of Wales) during his tenure as Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall and Rothesay.
Love this YT channel. I don't care if it's 105 degrees Fahrenheit outside, LIGHT THE FIRE. True SCOTSMAN were Cold all the time.!!! Turn on the fireplace.!!!😂❤ Better looking video. After Labor Day of course.!!!
An alternative for William (especially when in God's country... Scotland) would be trews/trousers with a bias cut matching vest. I think that would be very regal looking.
My kilt is my look from 1960 aged three....even until now. However, Big Tam wears it well. Also look at Billy Connelly and his famous friends when they went to his highland games.
I think he meant heir apparent in carrying on the wearing of the kilt. Not that he would be the successor. Certainly at this point, William doesn't seem too keen on ever putting on a kilt ever again.
Being a commoner never looked at royalty or celebrities, luckily there is a TH-cam channel with 4 better than good examples to take ideas/inspiration from. Kilts and Culture’s Rocky, Eric, Ian and Mac. There you can see from casual informal to casual elegant and more.
Keeping it post Victorian because nobody wants to talk about George IV and kilts. Not the guy to look to for inspiration for your highland wear outfit.
I really don't look to celebrities to follow fashion in Highland Wear, but King Charles does wear it nicely. There are also a lot of others who are not celebrities whom I've seen that do it just as nice. Mostly from America, but I've seen a couple of Canadians and one from Mexico.
I can't say I look to any celebrity, simply because no matter if they are in highland or Saxon dress, so many are all about bucking tradition and doing it wrong for effect.
Sam Heugan has some cool modern kilted outfits.
It never ceases to amaze me that America is a republic, but so many of Americans are fascinated with the Royal Family

I mean, theyre also obsessed with the Kardashians, Hilltons, and other families/persons of questionable character so perhaps it's not a complement.
1:25 is one of my favorite pictures of The King and Queen. He wears Highland dress so well.
George VI was often seen in Highland Wear, but that whole WWII thing got in the way a lot. I look to inspiration from the late Sir Sean Connery.
Connor McLeod of the clan McLeod is My inspiration.😊
Sean Connery was the one I looked to for inspiration of what to wear.
Don’t forget Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg!
You can’t make me remember!
Excellent video, apart from the casual shade thrown at Edward VIII/The Duke of Windsor. He was a far more complex and sympathetic figure than he's given credit for being.
I agree. I haven't watched that many biographical programs about him. However, I can definitely see where your statement is true.
Yuck
King Charles is hard to beat.

As a concept it's plausible. But definitely needs more R&D to be viable. The volcanic lead up to the Henry then the Winchester

Wow, that's commitment!

USA kilts of course!
Samuel L jackson looked really sharp in his kilt.
Sean Connery did it best for me.
As others have said King Charles and the late sir Sean, but lets not forget Christopher Lee in the Wicker Man
As a Scotsman I can say. He is not my king

Edward VIII was an incredible dresser!
Prince Edward is NOT the Heir Apparent.

Always liked Charles
Sir Sean Connery

Snoop Dogg wore a kilt like a real king.
