Despite having the right to use the 'Nokia' brand until 2026, the company has decided to focus on its own label. They recently launched the HMD brand, aiming to introduce various mobile devices and collaborate with new partners for innovative products. This move marks a shift away from the familiar Nokia brand.

Nokia is like "raddi me becha gold" HMD;s corporate management are treating it as raddi (like launching irrelevant Nokia phones) but it still has huge brand value among masses, If Nokia brings good features in 20k to 50k budget, it can easily destroy OnePlus, mid budget Samsung phones easily..

I had Nokia 7 Plus. Let alone phones, it was the most well build gadget I have ever used and I still can’t find anything that matches it’s solidity and build quality. It felt as if it was just a small, well rounded metal slab covered in ceramic with a screen. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that heavy.
The camera was decent but unfortunately, the performance was not the best for the price and the SOC it had.

As a geeky guy, my priority was a clean Android and that's why when I upgraded from my Galaxy J6 , I chose Nokia 7.1 as my daily driver .
But when I checked their pricing... The specs didn't justified the price of the product.
So I changed my decision and bought a second hand pixel 3 as it offers clean Android with some exclusive features...

Hmd will manufacture HMD phones as well as Nokia phones too. May be stock android will be used only in Nokia phones whereas HMD phones will use custom rom as HMD is going for multibrand strategy.
I remember, In 2012, i bought my first Nokia phone (Nokia 1616) by getting loan from my cousin 😅, before it i used Motorola and Sendo phones. My first android phone was Huawei Ascend Y300, which i bought on launch date then i jumped to Galaxy S4 in 2014 and used it till 2019. Aap ne kia zamana yad karwa dia bhai ❤

the reason why it failed was they closed its door for developers and decided to have monopoly on app development while Android was open source if windows was open source, it would have beaten iPhone and android

I don't know why hmd is doing this for a long time. when they first did comeback with nokia brand name they were launching good phoes at reasonable price like nokia 6.1+ , 5.1+ . But god knows what happened then, they stopped launching good phones which can justify their price. And last few years they have gone completely insane like launching a phone with a basic processor at double to triple price of the other brand.
