Hello bro thanks for the video Visual Intelligence on my 16 pro detects the date and create event in calaender but not Plants and animals. So is there any bug or I have to change some of the settings?
They were always expected to arrive in iOS 18.4. They weren't ready by 18.2 in December, and the .3 updates are always bug fixes as it tests during the holidays. They dont want to introduce big changes or new features during the holidays when people are on leave.
I don’t understand why Visual Intelligence is not available on the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s sad that Apple has started software lockouts to push sales of the latest iPhones.
OK, here is the information I found online. The iPhone 15 Pro cannot use Visual Intelligence because it lacks the dedicated ‘Camera Control’ button, which is the primary way to access this feature. Apple has chosen to make Visual Intelligence available only on the iPhone 16 series, which has this button. Essentially, even though the iPhone 15 Pro has the hardware capability, Apple has restricted its functionality due to the missing button design. I see, so it’s a feature that becomes unusable just because the button is missing.
Really annoying Apple is letting iPhone 15 Pro to be able to use Visual Intelligence. They could have, but just want to limit the feature to iPhone 16's.

@ thanks for the quick answer, is a same I can’t used in the iPhone 15 pro, but I will hold my breath for the 17 pro, ,because is not worth buying now, when the 17 pro will come with all lenses with 48 mo, and I used a lot as a photographer, you always carry the iPhone , I saw the Samsung s25, but at the end digital zoom,is BS, I’m a cinematographer, so I know what it is important, definitions crispy and natural looking, to much digital shows to many defects. I love finding new restaurants but it's hard! And a lot of the services only promote the ones that work with it or tie into their service so you miss a lot of them!

From a technical standpoint, why can’t this be on slightly older phones? Seems like bs that this is excluded from even the 15 Pro that can do all of the other “AI” features.
When iPhone 1 came out, one of my first ‘dream features’ was to be able to snap a pic of an event written on a paper calendar, business card or flyer, etc, then ‘auto-magically’ create a calendar event, or add a reminder, or create a contact. We’ve had OCR for decades, and even ‘contextual awareness’ (or whatever they called it) when you could tap on a date, etc. I know OCR FINALLY appeared (a year ago?) This still doesn’t do what I want it to do. I find it funny af (and kinda sad) that we had to wait almost 20 years and it has to use the internet & a power-hog like chatGPT to do this. Obviously it does much much more. And I’d have to buy a new $1,000+ phone. (I know I’m not special, and this is not the first time someone has complained about that 1 thing they want)
Hmmm buy the latest iPhone to handle light tasks on device, heavy tasks handled off device by chat GPT… or get chat gpt on a 2018 iPhone to do the same. Really Apple?!
The new plant and animal identification in visual intelligence sucks ass. Anything I pointed it at it got wrong. ChatGPT looked at a plant and got it right but Apple looked and then put a little bubble up that said “maybe aloe” it got every plant wrong and every animal breed but GPT got all correct
Dude I’m literally using my iPhone 16pro…I have everything Apple, iPad, MacBook Air, air pods, Apple TV. I have nothing Samsung…I’m just saying the plant and animal identification is weak compared to gpt
In the end it just sends the photo to google or chatgpt… I don’t see why not every iPhone could do that. And I don’t see how Apple is doing anything ‘intelligent’ there.
That's ok. It's just one feature from the phone -- not the only new one. But you'll see it on all new phones going forward. Plus, if you wait, it will be more built out by then!
Yeah, Google has this feature on the Google app that you can install on any phone. Apple has to come harder to get those on the 15 series to upgrade. The 15 series is what the M1 revolution was like.
