For those pins, which you tried to remove with pliers and screw driver, you can use the can opener tip to pry beneath. Tip of can opener can also be used as owl, tricky but can be used.
My tti came with a small bit set from a leatherman retail store. As of 2017 you can expect a half-card of them as well as the pocket clip and large lanyard extension. I got the premium sheath if that matters.
You probably know by now, but the actual crimper is at the pivot point between the handles when the pliers are out. So you squeeze the wire between the handles
Great review. You can buy one of those small glass screwdrivers and grind a pint on it so you can use it as an awl. I actually ground down one of their common screw drivers and made an awl out of it. I am planning to buy another MUT screwdriver kit and make a longer awl. It works great. I really enjoy my Charge XTi, I like the 2 screw drivers over the scissors. I carry a Victorinox Explorer, better scissors and a magnifying glass. At 65 I need the magnifying glass very often, LOL.......
Just got my Charge TTI today. It came with a total of 9 double interchangeable bits (total of 18n heads). I ordered the additional bits package. Kinda sucks that those that came with the tool are doubled-up on the additional bits kit. I suppose it's nice to have spares for the ones you potentially use more but would have preferred the bits kit to come with the bits extender rather than the doubles. But I'm happy.
Also, you can have more leverage by pinching nails mid-point in the needle node and twist up, using the plier tip as anchor to your levering action, pulling up the handle. Another method is to pinch the nail at the base and twist is out. But you probably know this already.
I know I'm super late to the party here, but i always use the can opener on my charge to pry staples it works like charm. Give it a try I'm sure you'll find it works very well.
Its a cool idea but you can just mount them in the pliers. With the tool horisonattly and the saw blade vertical, you grab the sawblade at an agle so that the T-shank mount rests ontop your cable cutters. You can retain a sawblade with very little pressure. Its also possible to grab on to a t-shank with a folded leatherman by placing the T-shank where you would place the bit on a sog reactor.
Could you please test out SOG PowerAssist and/or PowerLock multi-tool? I was going to buy one, until I saw a review where the guy said that "it's not gonna be comfortable to use the tools like screw-drivers or saw because the pliers can not be folded inside the handle and always stick out, unless you fold the whole tool what will drastically limit the rotation movement". Seems legit, but once again it's only talk, I'd love to see those tools in action!

Rather just use the cutters like I do with my normal linesmen pliers. I don't usually use this. Obviously would rather just use my proper electrical tools, but I work industrial, I dont always carry all my tools depending what I am doing. So if I don't have the tool with me if its faster to use my leatherman I will. But being in those spots it sucked. I may be slightly biased, I don't use strippers anyways, just know how to strip with normal side cutters etc. Otherwise great test. Cool stuff, never thought of cutting zip ties with the strap cutter. great idea.

Nice video and great concept, like it a lot. but to be honest, that wasn't challenging at all for the charge! The operations you made were too easy! Cut more stuff, fill more stronger materials, push this thing to the limits! Best regards
I dont know who at leatherman came up with the idea to put a notch for crimping in the middle of a pliers.But you ruin it.As mush as i like everything else about the TTI that nocth is a deal breaker for me.At the price of this tool i would expect almost perfection and that notch to me seems like a mistake.
The wire crimper does a pretty bad job and original crimper has no room to fit the wire terminals and crimp them all the way down! The needle nose has less working surface because of this useless crimpers and it’s only one thing I don’t like about ...

Yes sir that's exactly what I said. I used the can opener/bottle opener for prying staples that are too far in quite a bit and it works like charm.

The crimper does work. Use the crest not the trough of the plier jaw to crimp. Try it again. Otherwise good review👍🏽
the crimper is for a blasting cap, not electrical wiring.
