As far as I'm concerned this is one of the most beautiful riffs in the history of music. The development of the whole track is something really interstellar. A real journey within our mental galaxy. Infinite masterpiece.

"Interstellar Overdrive". Here is what am thinking every time I listen to this exquisite composition: Look at these TH-cam comments, so many thousands of good folks express their love for this song, the joy that it has brought them (and me). The creativity is incredible. It sounds like every single tempo change was deliberate and inspired. But I absolutely cannot hear it without asking, "Is it worth it?" I have never met Mr. Barrett, but it's impossible for me to believe from this song that he is a soul at peace; it sounds like the very soundtrack of torment. Is ten minutes of mind-blowing music worth another man's misery? Is there a redemptive value in a human hearing his or her confusion and bewilderment expressed so graphically? I think Pink Floyd should be proud of such a unique artistic achievement, but was it done at an infinite cost?
