What's amazing is that this was filmed and the film survived. When this was filmed, Pink Floyd was unknown. They hadn't even made an album yet. And this studio looks like somebody's basement.

This is all fucking bullshit, Pink Floyd was one of the biggest bands of the psychedelic scene in London back in 1967, probably THE biggest at the time - they had been receiving accolades from various people, for example Jim Morrison called them his favourite band, and they also met with The Beatles at Abbey Road Studios whilst recording Piper there at the same time Sgt. Pepper and S.F Sorrow were also being recorded, they were far from ''unknown''.

Although their sensibilities were pretty different, I can't help but hear an affinity between Syd-era Pink Floyd and the Velvet Underground on songs like this, with their use of noise and repetition, and their respective interest in pushing rock and roll structures to the breaking point.

The London66/67 version smashes the album version and so does the Live In Stockholm, HECK all alternate versions sound way cooler, better quality and focused than the one on the album, It baffles me how they had 6 takes and they chose the 9:50 one to put on the album! this is amazing thanks for uploading it
