- This is the story of the first Passover from Exodus 1-12 and can be used during this portion of the Seder meal when the Passover story is read.
I love how this passage tells us of God's love for His people and points us towards the ultimate Lamb of God, Jesus, who would free us from slavery to sin.

One of my favorite movies. I am a Catholic school teacher and I play this movie during Holy Week/Passover and my kids love it too!
I hope one day you see the light and turn away against the Catholic church, spreading the word of our Father to kids is the right thing to do. Unfortunately the Catholic teachings teach using the way of mans traditions with should not be mixed with the word of the holy spirit. Let no man deceive you, i could be wrong, take what i say and let the holy spirit guide you, but ask the holy spirit not another man on this earth.

I am glad to see this video is being used. All I did was the voiceover but feel a personal connection to it. And as a Christian (Anyone is free to stop it before the Jesus bit comes in if they so desire) all the anger and hostility saddens me. The story is symbolic of what Jesus would ultimately do for anyone, regardless of heritage.

I’ve never seen this movie. Can you tell me what is biblically incorrect? I believe my granddaughters have this movie.
Biblically inaccurate that they for sure name the pharaoh as Rammesses but really do not worry about the fact that they took artistic license, instead enjoy the movie and also read scripture for yourself. It’s actually a very biblically accurate portrayal, it truly is amazing and worthwhile. We watch it every year.

the blood of the lamb did not just save the firstborns of the Hebrews...it saved the firstborns and those wise enough to decide to go in to a home after being invited...in other words the blood of the Lamb saved the firstborns(Jews) and also all Gentiles who were graciously invited and wise enough to go

Beware of holding the seder to the same position as Yahweh's word. Yeshua specifically destroyed the hand washing tradition in his day, and the scriptures themselves warn against worshipping Yah in the same way pagans worship their mighty ones. The egg comes from the same Babylonian fertility goddess which gives Easter its name!

My Greek Orthodox friends told me that Easter can't happen until Passover. After this video, I understand now that Jesus could never have existed if the Jews did not escape Egypt. But the passover story is about Jews escaping bondage. I see some Jews for Jesus, but I am a Jesus for Jews.

The Israelites are God's chosen people. Jesus died on the Cross and his blood was shed for the forgiveness of sins. The Passover story is beautiful, the Israelites we're obedient to God and death passed over them. Jesus is the lamb of God, we are covered with his precious blood and we are temples of the Holy Spirit, Jesus blood is on the posts of our temples and the wages of sin and death passover us just as the night years ago in Egypt. Jesus reign on Earth will take hold when the Israelites recognize him as Lord and Savior, the Israelites will recognize what Jesus did that day on the Cross and will reign in a new Era of peace on Earth. That was a jolt at the end. I never heard JC mentioned once in all the seders I attended growing up. It was the passover story that convinced me of the cruelty inhere in religion when I was a child. Murder of children or Human sacrifice are not the correct paths for me personally. This is just my own opinion.

One of the easiest ways to know that this is not jesus is to simply ask why everyone is surprised. If they are expecting jesus, then why are they shocked?
so much left out and Moses didnt do it himself. He had his brother Aaron do all the work. he was like a God and his Brother like a prophet. Aaron is the one who raises the staff
And Passover.. not only a perfect lamb but a Male perfect lamb. That has to be under 1 year of age.. also a Female lamb to be killed for sin sacrifice so you can keep the Passover. Later christ died for sin sacrifice so no more. but still the Male lamb has to be killed on the 14th day of the new month witch will also be the first month of the Year. So each time a plague ended, did pharaoh refuse to let the Israelites go and so God sent the next plague?
According to Exodus, yeah. But God had Moses and Aaron warn Pharaoh each and every time, so Pharaoh's (to use a line in a song from The Prince Of Egypt) "stubbornness and pride" was to blame for the plagues. God knew ahead of time that Pharaoh wouldn't listen, and so He warned Moses of this and told Moses that He was going to bring judgement on Pharaoh and all of Egypt. The only place that did not have plagues was the region of Goshen, where the Hebrews lived. God separated His people from the nation of Egypt, and set them apart to be His people. (See Exodus 3-15)
Obviously from the Christian view point. Too condensed and truncated for the truth of the plagues to be understood.
Yes. Thank you for not making it a holy war. We believe it was symbolic of the new Covenant of Jesus. We don’t believe the God of the OT is mutually exclusive with Jesus (same actually). The hostility is a bit surprising.

Diana polania watch from 3:45 onward it gives an explanation as to what Passover is. God sends the last plague the will free the Jews from slavery and therefore they celebrate. The video also explains as to why it’s called Passover since the angel of death passes over the houses that have been marked with the blood of the lamb. I hope this helps a bit.
Hser Eh It is mostly a Jewish tradition although I think there is some Christians that do celebrate it.
It was a time when Gods angel was send to take the firstborn of all people who sinned against God. But God gave His people protection by saying they must put the blood of a lamb on their doors and windows. If the angel see the blood he will pass over the hous and they will be spared. The blood of the lamb os simbolic for us today that Jesus Christ os ou lamb and we are saved by His blood.

It’s traditionally a Jewish celebration but not exclusively. The idea is that it’s symbolic of the sacrifice Jesus would make in the New Testament. An innocent and blameless sacrifice that would atone for all who believe.
