Jesus is the new covenant! We still must apply the blood of Jesus..Acts 2:38 is the beginning of the Church, it was 50 days after Passover, on the day of Pentecost, Peter preached his very first sermon after being filled with the Holy Ghost...Peter explains that Jesus was the Messiah, feeling sorrowful for having the Messiah killed they asked what should we do to be saved? And then Peter said, repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost.....It’s the only way to salvation..

Thank you for this video. Fowlling the teaching and symbolism of the Last Supper, you mention that Jesus took 'one of the four cups' of wine, representing the promises of God to redeem Israel. I've never heard of this before; could you please say where this is found in the Gospels. Also, I believe there's a discrepancy in the timeline of the Jews' bondage in Egypt. In this video you state 300 years but in another video "Jesus Christ The Passover Lamb" you state 400 years...

    • @messagesofChrist
      @messagesofChrist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great questions! First, the "four cups" actually comes from later writings about Passover indicating there were four cups used for Passover meals (four cups are still used today during a Modern Passover meal by Jews). This teaching was recorded around 200 AD, but it is based on the practices that were said to be happening during the second temple period (the life of Jesus). It is hard to know for sure if Jesus would follow this tradition (using four cups), as it is not originally part of the description in Exodus on the Passover. That said, Luke mentions at least two cups of wine, which would mean that there was more than one cup used. Luke 22:17 mentions the first cup which is drank before the meal. Then Luke 22:20 indicates another cup after the supper.
As for the 300 vs 400 years, that is due to two issues. First, this video was one of my earlier videos and I have learned a lot since then. Second, there is debate on how long Israelites were in bondage. The scriptures give some different dates (I don't recall the references) but it is not clear exactly how long they were in bondage. From what I recall, the question is if 300 years was the actual bondage and the 400 years was just how long they were in Egypt (meaning at the start they were not slaves, but just lived there as free people).
As I mentioned, this is one of my earlier videos where I was not as knowledgable (though I still have lots to learn) and also not as careful about how I worded things. I try to be more careful now where we don't know things like the exact amount of time for something, or if the scriptures are not clear. Anyway, always learning and in the process, I will have mistakes in various videos.

even though im an athiest i think jesus was very intelligent and magnificent , he really did try and make the world a better place but things are still so messed up around the world, but its not religions fault, its humanitys fault, humans will never change, human nature will never change, humans will always stoop to the bottom and do foolish and evil things no matter who they say they believe in or who they say they are, what people do is far more important than what people say.

There is absolutely no way the last supper could have been on Thursday and the resurrection on Sunday because from Friday to Sunday is only two days and Christ was risen in three days… If you count from Friday evening when he was buried then he would’ve risen on Monday

✝️Checklist to see which is the True Church ⛪️ based on Jesus as Passover lamb stated in 1 Corinthians 5:7
      1 Corinthians 5:7
“For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. “
Jesus is mentioned as “the Passover lamb 🐑 “ in 1 Corinthians 5:7. If Jesus is the Passover lamb, then the CELEBRATION of the Sacrifice of the Passover lamb JESUS🐑 (who took our sins on His Body) in the New Testament and in our Church should take place exactly in the same way as the people in the Old Testament CELEBRATED the sacrifice of Passover Lamb 🐑 .
People in the Old Testament used to sacrifice lamb placing their sins on it and they have to “EAT ITS FLESH” for the forgiveness of their sins as God had commanded them to do in
Levictus 4:23 “When he becomes aware of the sin he has committed, he must bring an unblemished male goat as his offering”.
Let us see how people in the Old Testament celebrated the sacrifice of Passover Lamb 🐑
& how it applies to Jesus, our Passover lamb in the New Testament
      1)Exodus 12:46 -Old Testament :
It (The Sacrificial Lamb’s FLESH) must be eaten inside the house; take none of the MEAT outside the house. “Do not break any of the bones”.
      John 19:36 - New Testament :
For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, “Not a bone of Him (Sacrificial Lamb -Jesus Body) shall be broken.”
      2)Exodus 12:5 -Old Testament :
Your lamb shall be an unblemished (perfect) male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats.
      1 Peter 1:19 - New Testament :
but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished (sinless & perfect) and spotless, the blood of Christ.
      3)Exodus 12:7 -Old Testament :
Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they EAT THE PASSOVER LAMB . (Old Testament People need to EAT THE FLESH OF THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB for the forgiveness of their sins)
      Matthew 26:26 - New Testament :
While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, EAT; THIS IS MY BODY (We need to EAT THE FLESH OF SACRIFICIAL LAMB JESUS for the forgiveness of our sins)”.
      4)2 Chronicles 35:6 -Old Testament :
Now slaughter the Passover animals, “SANCTIFY yourselves” and prepare for your brethren to do according to the word of the Lord by Moses.”
      1 Corinthians 11:27-28 - New Testament :
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the BODY (FLESH OF SACRIFICIAL LAMB JESUS )and blood of the Lord. Everyone MUST “EXAMINE themselves”(sanctify themselves) before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
      Conclusion:
As per above, the Scripture teaches us We need to EAT the FLESH (BODY) OF THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB 🐑 JESUS in order to COMPLETE the pass over meal, which is happening in the Holy mass in Catholic Church .. Eating some bread is not enough, as it is happening in the Protestant churches!!!!
      John 6:53
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you EAT THE FLESH of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
      John 6:54
Whoever EATS MY FLESH and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.
      John 6:55
For MY FLESH IS REAL FOOD and my blood is real drink.
      John 6:56
Whoever EATS MY FLESH and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
John 6:57 Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who EATS ME (EAT THE BODY/FLESH OF THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB JESUS) he also will live because of Me.
      John 6:52
Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” (Protestants also has the same thought 💭, so they do not consider the bread as the REAL BODY or FLESH OF JESUS, but only just as a bread of remembrance !!!! )
      John 6:60
On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
      John 6:66
“As a result of this many of His disciples LEFT, and no longer walked with Him.” The same way Protestants left Catholic Church & its true teaching about the Flesh of the Sacrificial lamb 🐑 JESUS, the HOLY EUCHARIST. It’s a strange coincidence that the number of this scripture is 6:66, mark of the beast satan, the deceiver.. it’s so sad that people are deceived by satan despite JESUS spoke the above words LITERALLY NOT METAPHORICALLY!!!
If somebody cannot understand what Jesus is saying about eating His Real Flesh , please atleast understand by looking at the Old Testament about the Passover lamb 🐑, as Jesus is called as the Our Passover lamb in the New Testament who takes away our sins. (For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Jesus is mentioned as the Passover lamb 🐑 in 1 Corinthians 5:7) and please understand how people placed their sins on a unblemished (perfect) lamb for sacrifice and “eaten it’s flesh” for “the forgiveness of their sins”!!!!!!!
Words of Institution Contain Explicit Sacrificial Terms (Matthew 26:26-28)
Jesus' "words of institution" use clear sacrificial language.
"While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.' Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'" (Matthew 26:26-28)
Most striking in this passage are Jesus words: "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
Look again at the Gospel, and look again at the New Testament.
If the Eucharist that Jesus instituted was just a meal, then Calvary was just a Roman execution. But if Jesus instituted the Eucharist to be the Passover of the New Covenant, then it had to involve “BOTH SACRIFICE AND COMMUNION”, AS DID THE OLD COVENANT PASSOVER.
The words of institution show that Jesus established the Eucharist as the sacrifice of the New Covenant. As such, the Eucharist transformed Calvary from a Roman execution to a holy sacrifice-the consummation of his self-offering that was initiated in the Upper Room. Thus, he didn’t lose his life on Good Friday, since he had already given it-in loving sacrifice-on Holy Thursday. Jesus was not the hapless victim of Roman injustice and violence, but rather the willing victim of divine love and mercy.

@@stacyjobe6697 ✝️Checklist to see which is the True Church ⛪️ based on Jesus as Passover lamb stated in 1 Corinthians 5:7

I’m confused. Since the Passover was when a red X was placed on the doors so that the first born would be spared, how is that linked to the last supper hundreds of years later? I mean God was angry with King Ramses.

Yes, this is because the Gospel accounts don't agree on the date, so the thought is there were two days that were celebrated for Passover. There are quite a few theories out there. In the video I went with Thursday night because that is the traditional night, and I did not want to go into all of the intricate details of a Wednesday night Passover in such a short video. Probably at some point I will do a video on the Wednesday vs. Thursday Last Supper option. Here is a good article that goes into some of those details. It uses accounts of Jesus visiting the Americas to help verify some of the dating (from the Book of Mormon), and also a bunch of other historical content to help with the dating: byustudies.byu.edu/content/dating-death-jesus-christ

You have the day wrong, Jesus did not partake of the Passover lamb because he was the sacrificial lamb.the last supper according to the Jewish calendar was Wednesday, that day is called seder.its a preparing before Passover, that's why they had wine and bread.that evening is when Jesus was arrested, the next day he was crucified and died before sunset.thursday evening is when Passover began, Jesus had to be sacrificed at the same time.from Thursday until Sunday is 3 days ,if he died on Friday it would only be 2 days which is impossible

Jesus was not crucified on a Thursday.
There were 2 sabbaths that week.
Bought spices after the annual high day sabbath and then prepared them.
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
    Mark:16:1
Prepared them and rested another sabbath
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

The last supper and the suffering of Christ in the garden of Gethsemane occurred the night of Thursday and then he was crucified the next day. Was in the grave during Shabbat and then resurrected Sunday morning

According to the Gospel of John, Jesus was crucified at the exact time when the Passover lambs were being killed. If you read John, you will notice that it never calls the Last Supper a Passover meal. Some scholars believe that Jesus was killed on the eve of Passover, and that the Last Supper was not actually a Passover. The problem is because the other three Gospels say it was Passover, we just don't know.

John 18:28 The Last Supper could not have been a Passover meal. Also the bread in Greek was ARTOS - which means leavened. John 19:14 speaks of day of preparation. That is the day before. You need time to prepare as everything will be closed on Passover. John 13:1 the foot washing. If this was a once a year Passover meal, why do the churches not keep it as a once a year meal? Some think it is like the covenant meal that Moses had with Aaron. (Exodus 24) Also look at the trial where the Pharisees cannot come into the judgement hall as they don't want to be undefiled to keep Passover. Also, the disciples were sent out to prepare for Passover. Messiah died on Passover along with the lambs at the temple mount as He was our Passover lamb. Think back....when Judas left the last supper, some thought he was leaving to buy something in preparation of Passover. There would be no place to buy anything if they were seated for the Passover meal and Passover started. You cannot eat a Passover meal on Passover and be on a cross. There had to be time for prayer in the garden, the trial, beating, and sentencing. It is a confusing area especially since we use translated texts.

Jesus did not eat the passover with the disciples he was the passover lamb. He died when the passover would have been killed.
Luke 22:14-16 (ESV): And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

When Our Lord appeared to St. Paul on the road to Damascus, He didn't say "Why are you persecuting my people?".
No! He said "Saul, why are you persecuting ME?"
The fact is that the Lord is so intimately united with His Church that we are ONE with Him. So, to reject the Church is tantamount to rejecting Christ - just like Jesus said "Who ever hears you, hears me; and who ever rejects you, rejects Me".. ( Jesus ) to St John to St. Ignatius, and even like St Matthias. Acts 1:26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles and so on . that's what you call Apostolic succession . it's only St John who was at the cross the rest of the apostles are in the upper room afraid they would be put to death .they were in fear of the Jews and Jewish pharisees . St.Ignatius was a disciples and student of the Apostle St. John who wrote the Gospel of John and the three Epistles of John and the Book of Revelation . Jesus gave his mother to St john at the cross and from there he took the blessed mother into his home and took care of her. St. Ignatius in the year of our Lord (A.D. 110) was the third bishop of Antioch, succeeding St. Evodius, who was the immediate successor of St. Peter. St. Ignatius is given the title of Apostolic Father of the Church since he was a disciple of the Apostle St John. . After the Crufixion .Christ transforming of the Seder into the Eucharistic meal the Passover to Full Fill the scriptures so we can receive the fullness of Christ . To Eat His Body And drink His Blood Hes been there in the Eucharist in the Catholic Orthodox Church for 2000 years ,You are What you Eat and make sure that your Worthy to receive...St Paul.1 Corinthians 11:24-25 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”1 Corinthians 11:26-29 . 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord..28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves..StJohn 6:52 . 52Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, "How can this man give us His flesh to eat?" 53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day 55"For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57"As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58"This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.".Does scripture tell you who is allowed to partake of the cup? St Paul says in Hebrews 13:10 we have an altar at which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat of..The cup of benediction that we bless is it not participation in the blood of Christ?..Jesus died to serve himself in the Eucharist that's ministered from the altar to the tabernacle at every Mass, Then whats not consumed by the faithful is put back in the tabernacle for the next mass . This is What St Ignatius Written in one of his letters , "They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His goodness, raised up again." - St. Ignatius of Antioch, Letter to the Smyrnaeans, 7:1, in the year of our Lord 107 AD That's 74 Years after Christ Ascend into Heaven..Thank you Jesus for giving us your Flesh and Blood in the Eucharistic the lamb of god who takes away the sins of the world. the bread of Life..Our Daily Bread..The New Covenant .The Eucharist !. The Seder meal it is made up of 4 parts structured meal , God gave Moses for Israel tribe to partake in the Seder meal so he will Passover so the first born sons would not die, in short ,, The Seder starts with the first cup of wine - the cup of sanctification: “I will bring you out”. God brings us out of Egypt - out of the world and out of spiritual slavery to sin and the fear of death.the first cup of wine the cup of sanctification in honor with that , ,The second part a cup of wine is the cup of plagues drunk after the Passover story is told but before the meal.At the point where bitter herbs are eaten,to remind Israel of the 430 years in Slavery in honor with that and Scripture readings and the big and little psalms, the third part of the Seder consists of three pieces of unleven no yeast matzah .At the Passover seder, it is customary to eat matzah made of flour and water; matzah containing eggs, wine, or fruit juice . The flour can be made from the five grains mentioned in the Torah: wheat, barley, spelt, rye and oats. the Passover is a commemoration of the exodus from Egypt. The biblical narrative relates that the Israelites left Egypt in such haste they could not wait for their bread dough to rise; the bread was unleven no yeast matzah .and the third cup of wine is the cup of redemption the cup of blessing., , Then the forth part of the meal is a male lamb with out a bone broken and the 4th cup of wine during the sacred Passover the cup of consumation the consumption and they had to physically eat the flesh of the lamb and drink the blood of the lamb ,So they took the blood of the lamb on a hyssop branch and the blood was put on the doors posts and lintels and when God in seeing the blood he passed over and the first born son's lived. the Eucharist when Jesus went up in the upper room to celebrate the Passover Seder , He took part in the first part of the seder meal , then he moves into the second part of the seder meal ,, then he came to the third part of the seder meal unleven bread and the cup of redemption cup of blessing , The thing here is Jesus transformed the bread and wine in the third part the unleven matzah “Take and eat; this is My body” the cup of redemption this is My blood of the new covenant, to full fill the scriptures ,and Jesus says I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." notice when he gets to the forth part of the meal , he omitted the feast and he walked out , now if you were a good Jew this is what you would of said to Jesus come back were not finished the Seder yet, we need to celebrate the forth part, notice Jesus he walks out in the garden and falls on the ground and says to his father take away this cup , he's talking about the forth cup , the lamb as to be slain and his blood as to be shed for the many and eat the flesh of the lamb and drink his blood , so when Jesus drank the fruit of the vine from the cross , remember Jesus saying. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine . so here Jesus full fills what he said at the third part of the meal .Jesus says I Thirst, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and as soon as he tasted it and he said it is finished , the Seder is fulfilled in the Eucharist . to full fill the scriptures, Jesus transforms the seder !into the Eucharist that's what the mass is the full fillment of the Seder .He did partake of the forth CUP of the Last Supper Passover Seder Meal . they sacrificed the Passover lamb Jesus the Christ. and we also have to physically eat the flesh of the lamb and drink the blood of the lamb. Yeshua was the PASSOVER SACRIFICE ("zebaḥ Pesaḥ") who must be consumed..the disciples / early Christians where being killed for there faith of Jesus in the Eucharist for cannibalism. the Eucharist is the Flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His goodness, raised up again .do you think for a moment that the saints would be put to death for being charged for the Eucharist for cannibalism for the real presence . if it were just a once a month communion remembrance service as a symbol .They died because they believed the Eucharist is the Flesh and Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ fulfilled in the Eucharist .Jesus died to serve himself in the Eucharist that ministered from the altar to the tabernacle.. Not a once a month crackers and grape juice communion and after the service is over and whats not consumed by your faith full, Ends up being thrown away. So whats wrong with this picture.most Protestants do not see the bread and wine as anything more than symbols. There is no blessing that is ever attempted to transform the elements into the literal body and blood of Christ. Consequently, the bread and wine (or juice) that could be stored for long periods of time prior to the observance (the Lord's Supper) . can be stored for long periods of time afterwards. Additionally, if the bread or wine goes bad or if there is anything left over after an observance, they can be just thrown away. So, some would ask if the disposing of these elements irreverent. To answer that, it should be understood that the elements only serve as symbols during the observance of the Last Supper. Before and after, there are just regular, ordinary, garden variety" bread and wine.So this is not similar to that of Catholic Orthodoxy. so this should question protestant tradition th-cam.com/video/LwwiIkrLxTM/w-d-xo.html
