  • When it comes to forage production, tedders play a key role in quickly transforming green, freshly-mowed forage to a crop with consistent quality and moisture that's ready to bale.
In this report from Agritechnica, RealAgriculture's Shaun Haney and Krone territory manager David Taylor take a close look at the new Krone Vendro C 1120, part the latest generation of the company's trailing rotary tedder series.
Taylor notes the C 1120, which features 10 basket tedders and a working width of 11.2 metres, is designed to deliver operational reliability, maximum output and excellent forage quality - even in combination with small tractors. "That's the beauty of our tedders," he says. "We manufacture these and engineer them to where you can run with relatively small horsepower tractors. So for a tedder this size, depending on the hitch, with 75 horsepower you're good to go."
The C 1120 also features a low centre of gravity thanks to the chassis running gear, and folds compactly for road transport and space-saving parking. As for working travel speed, Krone recommends running the tedder at six to seven miles per hour but the versatile machine can adapt to higher and lower speeds.
"Some jockeys want to go 12. Some want to take a little extra care and spend a little extra time out away from the house and they'll go four," says Taylor.
