AMENDNENTS OR CORRECTIONS: I have been informed by a helpful viewer, that the collection video with the glass fish and danio species found in myanmar, may actually be Tamilnadu in India... I'll let you know if I can find more info, but the fish and habitat are still very similar or identical regardless. Thanks! -Alex

It's hard to keep track of...honestly, they have been in and out of conflict for 60 years, and the hill tribes, are safe from major battles due to the fact they constantly are fighting to keep their region autonomous.
The other thing I'd emplore folks to look into is the plight of the Muslim Minority living on the Irrawaddy River on the border to the west of this region and over the last 10 years, over 10,000 people including women and children, have been r@p3d and or killed by Buddhist and Hindu nationalists extremists. The name of the people I'd suggest you Google and learn about it "The Rohingya ".

I think it was refugees, pre irrigation (so the oral tradition locally goes.) A city was attacked and about 5,000 people fled from modern Mandalay when the local Warlord who was Hindi, pushed out the Buddhist minority of the time 2,000 years ago...and the valley was remote enough that it gave them safety. But lake Titicaca is ssssuper similar in story and culture

I'm gonna try breeding my group of Devario (or Inlecypres) auropurpureus next summer. I bought them in a shop in belgium as Inlecypres Auropurpureus a year ago and they are doing very well....They are soooo beautiful... Is this still an endangered specie ? I thougt I could keep them unheated, but you mention the lake is 26 °C almost al year round... I keep them at 20 °C without any problem. ... but Alex man, you are really something else with your knowledge. Respect !

Wow, well researched informative video, a real pleasure to see this tonight. Easy to understand why it's your favorite biotope. I have a tank of those auropurpureus but didn't know a thing about them now I do thanks. Found them in local aquarium shop here in Chiangmai where I live. They are reproducing without any effort on my part, always active and beautiful. The lake isn't that far from me actually and would consider a visit if travel wasn't the way it is currently. Maybe hopefully in the future and not too distant. Lots of Shan people live here in the Chiangmai area, hard working, honest, attractive, fiercely independent and just want to keep their identity and ancestral homeland. Anyway, love the video, thanks.
