The Nameless one from Planescape Torment is also a very interesting one for me, I don't know if he qualifies as a "chosen one" or even if he was so unique in such a varied and high fantasy setting, but his story portrayed how immortality can very much be a curse rather than a blessing and how quickly it turned from a dream come true to a never ending nightmare, even those who know him pity rather than envy him for his "gift".
