Thank you Pastor for your relentless drive to equip the saints, it means more than you can imagine.
Drive. Get it? _Drive._
As a former farm boy, I can appreciate the image of calves leaping in joy as they are let out into the sunshine in the barnyard. What a great description of how we’ll respond when Jesus comes back in glory.
The promise he will return is very important. There will be a final judgment and we will be joining him forever.
Amen! Come Lord Jesus! ❤✝️❤
Great point - the redeemer is returning! Thanks.
My Lutheran pastor put it as, "You are going to spend your life." Full stop. Always stuck with me.
Thank you for breaking down repentance like this. I have some sin I've struggled with and always feel bad when I give in because I felt like it must mean I'm not repentant. But as Jesus said in Matthew 26:4, " The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." That really just gave me some much needed encouragement to keep on trying to battle against the bad inclinations of my flesh.
Battle yes. But only after receiving the gifts of God in Word and Sacrament. In addition to Pr. Wolfmueller tune into 1517 on TH-cam especially “Talks with Dad Rod.” Great conversations on the grace of our Lord. God’s peace to you.
Right there with ya!
Sunday drive home (albeit 10 months ago or so) and no Martin in the backseat? What is this world coming to? Serious! That dude is a fixture back there and without him, not a good Sunday drive home.
As usual Bryan, kidding aside, another great word offered! Keep ‘em coming!
Here's a proposed ending for that couplet: "American Evangelicalism confuses repentance with the fruit of repentance because they confuse the Gospel with the fruit of the Gospel."
The Gospel isn't "changed lives", "living in victory", "finding God's will for your life" etc. It's Christ, and him crucified FOR OUR sins.
Thank you so much for this message today Pastor Wolfmueller. I needed to hear it. God's blessings to you and your family!
Great. As always.
Thank you, Pastor -- God be praised! Looks like Luther left his coffee in the back seat.
Praise The Lord!
Santa told me I've been good this year. And will get everything I've asked for this Christmas.
How about for the sake of witness?… so we can tell others how this story ends! Come, Lord Jesus!
He already returned. Some of his followers had to live to see it. Matthew 16:28
Morning
“Modern evangelicalism mistakes repentance for the fruits of repentance.” Very good… I preached from the lesson from Malachi - focused on the OT lessons this fall
That syllogism about American evangelicalism confusing repentance with the fruit of repentance is spot on. As I have said in my Bible class, you can cease from practicing a sin and not necessarily repent of it. A man may stop getting drunk, not because he understands that it's wrong, but because he doesn't want to get caught drunk on the job and get fired (even though a part of him couldn't care less about being drunk on the job). That's not repentance.
Beautiful! Thank you pastor. But the yoke is a good one, blanco e inocente.
Thank you.
Gamboling is a good one.
Works based doctrine is everywhere, permeating just about everything.
I don’t see repentance as a work, but a necessary active ingredient of faith
I amassed too much knowledge, based on doubt, oral tradition, human reason , philosophy et cetera for my own good. I trust that Christ can use it for the benefit of others, in His mercy , because I’m ashamed of how I used it in the past
I often hear about having to go to therapy, psychiatrists and what not because I’m viewed as being unable to appease my neighbors desire to be loved how they think I should love
In heaven, there are no therapists taking notes about me
Self appraisal is worthless without contrition
Things can get all mixed up when we do not recognize dispensational salvation. There are 7 different methods of salvation in the Bible.
I like this priest he’s real and conversational if not a little corny but he is saying what many many pastors won’t. This is that times are getting evil and dark, not better. I’m not sure on his rapture eschatology but hard times are coming and many will fall away because their pastors don’t teach or train them on how to live and even thrive in these days and ending well.
Not priest, but a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod pastor.
Where’s Martin? Did he get smooooooshed in the back seat? Say it ain’t so, Joe!!! 😳
🐄🐄❣️
Modern evangelicals put the cart before the ox
Hi Pastor Wolf Mueller my name is Neil Martin and I know this is not on the subject but have you ever heard of the extinction is the resurrecting of animals as long as it’s been extinct what is your and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod stance on this science being used to bring back animals like the woolly mammoth or woolly rhinoceros set up and dead for thousands of years?
"PREPARE the WAY!"
Where does Martin Luther go when you are using the cup holder? Are we not blessed enough in that He as Father gave us His Son?
I hope people will be open to this perspective. Jesus did not say HE was coming back, as the same individual who lived 2000 years ago. How would anyone today even recognize or know if someone who claims such a thing is the same Jesus of that time? Jesus was talking about each of us becoming the new Christ, which is what the "second coming" is about. People may not agree, but we have all been "working out our salvation" (which is to live in love and joy unconditionally), changing to become like Christ through experiences and choices made for various circumstances in life. When we become like Christ, that is the second coming of Christ, not Jesus returning. People today are waiting for a savior, just like people did back 2000 years ago, which is incorrect. They didn't understand then, people do not understand now. It is about us as a species following in the example of Jesus UNTIL we become the new Christ. We will become more than Jesus because it will not be one Christ, but multiple Christs. Jesus wants to make "heaven on Earth". The only way to do that is for everyone to be like Christ, not to take everyone away from Earth.
That isn't biblical though. The Bible is literal as well as spiritual!
Jesus will come to take all who believe and have tasted of His finished work of salvation. The dead will come out of their graves and the living will ruse up to meet Him
@@nancymclaughlin8051 Please understand that I am in no way trying to tell you what you should believe or accept. I'm not looking to argue about beliefs.
Is Jesus' message about people following him literally, as in sheep, or is his message about teaching how to be a fisher of men, meaning as a teacher? If it's to be a sheep, then that perspective makes sense, as one only need to "accept Jesus". If it's as a teacher, then it is not about following Jesus, but becoming like Jesus. Someone is a sheep in a flock, not because they are followers, but because they do not understand what they do. Until they understand, they will remain a sheep to be gathered. That's why Jesus said, "today, you are my brothers" because the Apostles understood at that point the message of Jesus, that they understood like him.
The problem with the literal interpretation about Jesus' return being the point of resurrection physically, is that it implies that the physical body is just as or more important than the spiritual body. I believe Jesus' message about the resurrection isn't about the physical body, but the perspective of someone who is "born again" like Jesus. The "resurrection" in this context, is about someone being reborn with a new understanding and perspective about life. Believing it is about the physical body contradicts the message "lay your treasures in heaven where it will not rot".
I've never understood why anyone would want the end of days to come. Why don't you just meet him now? Please stop driving and doing videos. Some of us don't want to die from some religious "leader" killing us because he's so important that he needs to record a video. I only have this life and I'd rather not have it ended from someone like you.
You will not mind however your life ends because your mind will be erased. You don't actually have even this life because it will be entirely erased. A person who doesn't want to die minus that person who doesn't want to die equals zero. A person who doesn't mind dying minus that person who doesn't mind dying equals zero. Your complaint against him is as religiously irrational as his irrational need to make relgious videos.
Goof ball. Cringe.
Thanks for introducing yourself, Burn Inhell! Lutherans accept you with all of your goofiness no matter how much cringe you may cause us in the future. :)
