    Oga there are principles. He can actually use tiny cables if they are pure copper. You did not specify if it's copper or not. 2. The higher voltage you go the lesser the size of cable you actually need. The higher Amps you go the ticker the cable at that point you can go for 12awg if u are running higher Amps. From what I have seen, apart from the maintenance factor which has to do with the owner of the system, there is nothing bad with the cables he used or the connection.

    If cables were the issue they would have shown heating /melting signs. Cable size or quality is fine. I think the problem is the dod was repeatedly romanced without maintainance

    This is terrible. Judging from the way the cables are coiled, an electrician did the terrible installation which led to the death of the batteries. I think we need to have a regulatory body to certify professionals. So many sad solar stories out there.
