    Today on BOAB Models we'll be finishing the 1/20 scale Ferrari 248 F1 from Fujimi. This car was used in 2006 - Michael Schumacher's last season with Ferrari and Felipe Massa's first.
    the video focuses on the Schumacher driver figure as well as the final assembly of the bodywork onto the chassis.
    The 248 F1 is a Formula One car, used by Ferrari for the 2006 season. The chassis was designed by Rory Byrne, Aldo Costa and John Iley with Ross Brawn playing a vital role in leading the production of the car as the team's Technical Director and Paolo Martinelli leading the engine design.
    The 248 model was driven by race drivers Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa. The 248 F1 was the first Ferrari since the F1-2000 not to wear the number one, denoting that the driver is world champion. The car also featured new sponsor decals such as Martini. This was also Vodafone's last year of sponsorship for the Scuderia as they announced that they would switch to McLaren Mercedes as title sponsor.

    Can't believe how good that looks, honestly ! And even more amazing is that the magnetic nose cone is an awesome display on its own

      Thanks a lot - I may try using magnets in future F1 builds too as they keep the parts in place so well.

    Full marks for perseverance Thomas, and ingenious use of the magnets to hold the nose on. I had a similar experience with one of the first models I built which was a Ferrari F189 Tamiya kit, but not being at all experienced, it did not end up as nice a finish as you have achieved. Well done

      Thanks a lot Allan. Yeah, experience makes a lot of difference - I made a Revell Ferrari 310b ages ago and now I know I would have done things differently to help it fit better.

      No problem, Matthew. I had to make a few changes but hopefully if you do lots of test fitting, it will go together better.

    Wow Thomas, you had to put some effort into that one! Fair play for persevering, great end result all things considered! Had a few minor fit issues on my Williams Fw14, but not as bad as you have suffered! Michael looks good as well! 👍👌

      Thanks a lot Paul. When I was filming it, I was thinking 'How the hell am I going to fix this?'
      I'm glad it turned out ok in the end - I hope your Williams is going well too.

    Amazing work on the helmet! I tried to make Mansell's once, and it was a disaster, so I know hard it is. It seems some kits are just not made to be put together, and require A LOT of ajusting. It tells a lot about your skills that you managed to make a fine model of this one.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! The Hasegawa FW14 kit I have came with Mansell helmet decals too - I wonder if it was that you made.

      @@BOABModels I made the one in Tamiya's F189. But "made" is too strong a word. I never managed to get it done.

    Nice end result despite the work around you had to use. Sometimes modeling doesn’t go that smooth. I remember when I was growing up I would occasionally want to throw the kit in the trash. I didn’t and happy for that it’s a learning experience. Happy modeling Thomas! 🏎

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot, Richard. Yeah, one of the things about filming these is that it never feels like I can give up - I have to persevere. Which is good - I've not failed to finish any yet! 😅 Thanks a lot for watching.

      @@BOABModels it’s nice to know, you are not alone when dealing with kits that have building issues. As a fellow TH-cam presenter says “That’s why they call it modeling!” Have a great day.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha yeah, I've heard that one before. I think it's important to persevere and I certainly feel satisfied now it's finished.

  • @alelauhaun6384
    @alelauhaun6384 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Absolutely incredible job! I couldn't have done any better myself. Beware of the f2007, it has major fitment issues on that kit I must say.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very kind, thank you very much. I can imagine so since it can't be that different to this one. I will definitely look very carefully at the next Fujimi F1 I make.

  • @Sarah-JaneR32
    @Sarah-JaneR32 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow I didn't know this kit had a problem let alone all the ones you highlighted, great work in persevering though, came out well

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot - I think if you are very careful with the interior parts it should be ok - if anything is off by just a millimetre, the fitment doesn't work.
