There are a lot of comments on our mention of 'climate change'. We think that it is a natural occurrence and that there are certain cycles that our planet is going through. Some per decade, and some per millennium. When we look through history, there are a lot of mentions of those great lands that disappeared under the water. And we keep finding sunken cities. The climate will change with or without the interference of humans.
So true. At one mm/year, I think there is plenty of time to live and enjoy life on Tuvalu. Won't be climate change that gives these islands any trouble.
I am in agreement with the op. The climate change activists though have become the new doomsday cult. The world was suppose to be underwater with no more icebergs in 2013. next was if humans did not change, then human extinction was to happen by 2023. Another is the world is going to end by 2031, due to climate change. The date will be bumped up again after it doesn't happen. I can name the individuals who said these, but my post won't show up, if I do.
What an ignorant comment, Tuvalu and many other islands are sinking due to climate change brought on by pollution, which mostly comes from European countries, stop spreading misinformation
I knew somebody, in a company I worked for at the time, who installed a new Government telephone system on Tuvalu. It was around 2004-5 and the total number of phone extensions there was less than 600. He flew from Perth Western Australia and travelled to Tuvalu via Sydney, then Auckland to the capital of Tuvalu. It took around 2 months for the equipment to be shipped there and 3 days for him to travel there. He said it was the most amazing place. I also travelled to Christmas Island from WA to install telephony equipment in 2000. An incredible experience.
Fantastic video! I could watch it as a relaxing tool...to escape the toxicity outside of Tuvalu. The people seem very lovely and understand the importance of community...since all their fates are interconnected.
The ocean levels have only risen 1/2 a millimeter over the last 150 years, according to NOAH. The Arizona Memorial in Hawaii is at the exact same depth it sank in 75 years ago, and the stacks are still visible only a few inches under water. It isn't a crisis. The glaciers have been receding ever since they formed hundreds of thousands of years ago.
Thank you for your comment! Because we get a lot of questions about the mentioning of 'climate change' we have a comment pinned on the top of the comment section.
@solascripturaPR1517 Yes; I have been going to my local beach since the 1960s, and it is in the same place it's always been. I do believe in protecting the Earth and its limited resources; but the people pushing climate change are getting ready to exploit and pollute Africa at our expense.
@bertstreet5299 yes and these people can't take logic. You tell them at first the earth was covered in water and the ice came later. The Great Lakes were formed 150,000 years ago by receding glaciers. The Irish was formed only 8,000 years ago by receding glaciers.

Great video and really nice to know more about Tuvalu, thank you. Had to laugh about how "scary" it is to be without a credit card. We didn't have them in the 60s generally and it wasn't scary at all. I didn't get a card until it was absolutely necessary, I was nearly 30. I didn't rely on cards until I was probably 45 or older. It is a mindset. You find "necessary" or normal, what you are born into.
As you stated in the beginning please Like and Subscribe. Do you not think about people would have to watch the complete video before they like this video or not?
It's the South Pacific, so it probably rains enough to provide drinking and cooking water. Sea (ocean) water could function as sewer water and phase 1 for showering and some kitchen clean-up. Collected & stored rainwater would be a premium with seawater as the usual "clean-up" water.
Great question! Yes, just like @xavierkoolat6926 said, they harvest rainwater, and most families have a ferro-cement storage tank where they can store and reuse the (rainfall) water.
What I can find is that a month of rent isn't that expensive and would cost you around $423, a hotel would cost between $300 and a $1000 per month, food and groceries would cost between $200 and $400 (local food is cheaper), transport is cheap because it is a very small Island so rent for a bike or local transportation would cost you $50. For Leisure and Entertainment ( like diving, fishing or local tours) $200 would be enough. But it's all depending on your wishes and lifestyle. Roughly for $800 to $2,150 you can live a month on Tuvalu 🇹🇻 !
I can imagine that! We would easily go live there if it was just the two of us, but with children, it's harder to move that far away. But maybe it would still be an option in a few years.
I'm 18, and I heard about Tuvalu from reading an A-Z encyclopedia about the nations of the world. I've always thought that it would be cool to move to Tuvalu, but I don't know how it would be possible.
I thought this was going to be another one of those AI-generated robotic voice, boring overviews. What a surprise; a real person, interesting facts and good information, although I am left with many questions about life in Tuvalu. One thing I would like to mention: the oceans aren't rising because of "climate change." I think I would be more concerned about a cyclones if I lived there. One of my oldest friends is an actual climate scientist: doctorate degrees from Cambridge and Oxford, both a meteorologist and climate scientist. Used to be one of the top meteorologists in the world. I just asked him about "climate change as an existential threat to humankind" about 6 months ago, although I have known him for decades. He said that we have always had climate change (the earth's atmosphere was 20 degrees warmer 5,000 years ago) and we will always have climate change; but it isn't a threat to humans. As a matter of fact, as the world's population increases, farmers need a longer growing season, so some more heat would be beneficial. Unfortunately, many places this winter had record cold. Imagine that the theory is incremental increases in the atmospheres temperature annually, which would mean that all high and low temperatures would have to rise incrementally as well, yet we have had extra-cold winters in many places over the past year. Do they have sewer systems on Tuvalu? Besides selling their top-level domain rights, how do people there make an income? Is there electricity? So many questions.
Hey my friend; you too are well informed! Blackrock CEO came clean and said climate change agenda is about profits and not the climate. They are moving heavy industries to Africa-the "Elite" will be able to make huge profits out of sight of the peasants; while we peasants will only be able to make a pittance off of Environmental Social Goal investments!
Really? An entire country made up of only atolls. Fancy that! Actually The Maldives is the country that coined the word atoll އަތޮޅު in its own language, Divehi. In ancient times, even Romans travelled there, because pre-Christian, Roman coins can still be found buried there.
