    Thank you so much for this. I have been preparing for the SAT using prienston review for the past month and a half and with the exam date being 9 days away I have been stuck at 1450-1490 with the reading section being my biggest issue. After watching this video I feel so much more confident and after doing 4 passages on different topics I can say your tips have helped ALOT. I was instructed to avoid reading the full passage and always found my self having issues focusing and engaging with the text though I am an avid reader. You tips on reading the full passage and pretending as though you are reading it aloud to someone else REALLY helped me. Going back and forth from question to question was very difficult for me and the focus just got worse (Ive been formally diagnosed with ADHD)
    Thank you so much for these tips I feel a lot more confident about my reading than I did before and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. I was stumped on this section for almost every practice test I took.

      Hey Hi, Even I was using the Princeton review strategy but this seems like a better one for me, plus I'm stressed about my March Test as I was always worried about my reading section which held me in 1300s. So do you suggest me to follow this strategy?

    Subscribed! I think I need most help with reading, I took a practice on khan academy and got more than half questions wrong in that section while in writing I got 8 wrong and for the first math 1 wrong and in the 2nd math section 6 wrong. I got a 1200 for the practice but I’m in 8th grade so lots of room to improve and time to improve. This walkthrough really helps. Please do more!

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It might help to answer the questions as you read if you run out of time, as long as you can find the textual evidence as you're answering each one! I kind of answer them as I go too (but it's kinda hard to demonstrate that in the walkthrough)

      For grammar, I keep recommending this website to people because I think it does a good job at covering all of the basics: magoosh.com/hs/sat/sat-grammar-rules/
      Reading is a little trickier since it's a bit more subjective...so the only thing I can really recommend is doing practice with Khan Academy or Prepscholar if you're willing to pay money
      The biggest thing tho is to practice, practice, practice with the real released College Board tests! :D

      I read a little faster in my head for the SAT passages (maybe double speed of this video) but slow enough that I can still comprehend it like a story. • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It helps to familiarize yourself with the types of questions that get asked by doing lots of practice--that way you can figure out what the question is asking just with one quick look, but it is tricky! Also the more you comprehend while reading/the deeper you read the passage, the easier it gets to point back to exact bits of evidence that help answer the questions fast

I did very well in Scientific reading (probably not that well:( ) because I know there is a DEFINITE answer despite all those nasty terms. However,the History and Literature passages are really killing me! When I was reading those passages, I totally lost myself in the long and hard-comprehensible sentences and literally cannot get what it is actually talking about. Do you got any advice for me please?😭

    How do you manage time? I don’t think you would normally go through questions this slowly on the real one lolol. I really struggle with time management and I would appreciate some strategies (and also exhaustion after reading the passages) xx

    • @annas-universe
      @annas-universe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I split up my time about 50-50 reading the passage and answering questions, and I think I kinda combine the two (answering the questions I can as I go) which is sorta hard to demonstrate gracefully in real time lol. I do the same method of eliminating all the wrong answers but much faster since I don't have to explain it out loud/completely. Practicing more full-length tests will help you with time management and exhaustion, since it's all about building your stamina up! Good luck :D

    Dear Anna. Can you make a walkthrough video like this. However, can you do it like how you would do in a real test. You are not going to talk, accept for intro outro, you are not going to timelapse the period when you circling the quote and prepare at the start. This way I could really know how you actually apply the technique you said, and to really know how you do time management on the real test. In short, just a short video of you time yourself like in the real test, and do what you do in a real test. It could be the whole reading section or just for one passage. The video on youtube are like this, talking explaining and guide us through. However, I haven't seen a video that help me to apply those technique they teach in to real practice and how to would really do it. I am going to have SAT on March 3rd so hopefully you read this and could help me soon. Just 1 video like that and the others could be like this. Thank you for your video.

    This is quite different from the approach I use, I typically skim the passage in 3-4 mins (without looking at the questions) then refer back to the passage often to answer all the questions. I got quite good at this approach (finish a passage in 11-12 mins with only 1/2 wrong) but I want to still improve my score. Would you recommend learning your method or keep practicing mine? What would you say is more beneficial to me in the long run?

      If you're curious about my method/think it might work for you, maybe try it for a practice test or two and see if there's any difference in your score. That way, if it helps--awesome!--and if it's worse than your current approach, you don't have to waste too much time/stick with it. Also, for the sake of keeping this video straight-forward, I did the questions all at once after reading the passage, but usually I think I answer some of them as I'm reading, too.

      @@annas-universe thanks that makes sense. I’ll try it out. Btw your video series is really helpful, made me go from a 1440 to a 1520! I also want to try and score perfect on the SAT by March!
