Small correction orders.cid=customers.custid This is what happens while you written only in notepad and not practiced in sqlplus.I saw the error while you entered the value.

The left outer join not only displays the matching values of both the tables, it also includes all the values of the table which you provide in left side of the join command

When it comes to the 3rd table joining..here is the logic is u have to create 3rd table in 1st then 2nd table then 1st table like from backwards,
Why means while creation the 3rd table u face some problems with taking references from existing table. So that's why 1st create 3rd table then 2nd then 1st then it will work.try this.i hope u can understand.
