I saw the Lanford Wilson play FIFTH OF JULY at the (New) Apollo. It was a lovely theater, not distressed at all. It's a shame it was demolished for the new Lyric. The Lyric has had a hard time getting decent bookings. It's way too large for even most musicals. Now that the theaters use dynamic pricing, even small theaters like the Golden can be financially viable.
I saw my first (okay, somewhat first) broadway show here, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, when I was 6 years old, back when it was called the Hilton.

I’ve been to the theater in 2011
