We Istrians have connection with the Ostrogoths and there is one concrete proof from that period in the Italy on this matter, in the Ravenna, Theodoric's mausoleum was constructed of the Istrian stone, the same mausoleum in Ravenna was constructed in 520 AD by the Ostrogothic king Theodoric (his Latin name is Flavius Theodoricus), he was the king of the Ostrogoths (488-526) and regent of the Visigoths (511-526).
Istrians are of the origin:
- Histri/Liburni (Histri and Liburni are Illyrian tribes, Histri were in the ancient period up to the river Raša in Istria where they bordered the neighboring Liburni, the Liburni were from the river Raša in Istria to the river Krka in Dalmatia, south of the river Krka in Dalmatia there were Dalmati)
- Romans
- Franks
- Goths (Visigoths/Ostrogoths)
- Italians
