lol, I almost can't believe this is on youtube. I had these on tape when I was a kid, used to be my favorite cartoons, but nothing ever came of it and hardly anyone has ever heard of it or remembers it. I'm surprised someone found this and posted it. =)
Awesome ! I remember the toys were hard to find in Canada...expensive too at the time ..but it lives on tnx for posting...has to be same producers as G.I.Joe and Transformers,Visionaries
Ahhh...the 80's. Greatest time to be a kid. I hear voices and music from Transformers. I used to have the guy at 2:34, he had the bug eyed cockpit eyes. He was the only Robotix set I had. He was white tho not gray like in the cartoon. Good times and memories.
I really liked the idea that which robotic bodies an alien's consciousness downloaded into was random. The exoskeleton you recognized as belonging to a friend could actually be piloted by an enemy.
I remembered this show I just wasn't sure what it was called, I remember it because of the vehicles, yes it was lesser known than transformers etc. I am glad I found it once again
Victor caroli is the narrator for this and tranformers. I just heard his voice in a tv commercial for poncho votivo weed killer. I was so pumped when i heard it i had to come on here and check these cartoons. I never forget a voice that cool!
I remember that cartoon Robotix because it's one of the segment from Super Saturday and Super Sunday when they have Robotix, Bigfoot, Jem and Inhumanoids all on one show!
Just got a working set of robotix off ebay to add to what I had when I was a kid for my nephew who is into space, rockets, fireworks, dinosaurs and pirates. Gotta show him this cartoon before I engage him in a major battle. What happened to all the cool stuff of the 80s? Uncle Crambone
I remember watching Robotix (forgot the name forever). I used to try and get up early to see it but usually failed and ended up catching the end of it plus Jem (Why oh why did I have to sleep in?) Anyway, never had any of the toys but always liked the show. I wish it could have been picked up and gone more in depth. However, reliving those early mornings many years ago it is nice.
WOW! I love this show "SUNBOW" studios made another masterpiece along with TRANSFORMERS,G.I.JOE,INHUMANOIDS (too many to mention) the 80's were and are still the best tnx MichaelSeebach for the posts...Rock on
omg yo have posted this too thanks this is awsome i have been looking for this for years. i love the film so much almost every weekend i made my dad rent it out for me. im so happy i found this everytime i tryed too look it up i couldnt find it as i spelled the name wrong but thansk too you i can find it again^^
cartoon from my childhood years!! LOVE IT SO MUCH!! TY TY TY TY TY!!!!!!! BTW: any one know cartoon where the good guys are in 80% of time in cars that got super powers? The plot is in space and in one of episodes wizard in purple robe eat a big strawberry. And I remember one thing more. In This cartoon was some big space plant that eat the planets and stars. In Tittle was digit "4" but I can't remeber what was the full tittle.
It's done by the same production company as G.I. Joe and other Hasbro cartoons; Sunbow/Marvel and is very likely to have been animated by the same Japanese animation studio Toei Animation.
i was too small to remember this series but i know i had the VHS, it's quite brutal fighting (arms torn off) and such intense soundtrack just for moving rocks.
The Transformers along with Spider Man and his Amazing Friends, GI Joe, Jem and others were all done by Sunbow/Marvel Productions. While the Animation was outsourced to Japan and South Korea, all the stories were written/storyboarded in the States, unlike say, the American version of Robotech which was truly a re-edited Japanese cartoon
I have so many questions, like who are the crew of the ship and why do they have a battlecruiser chasing them? How can the Protecton and Terrorcore have designed and built the Robotix and NOT know about the biological interface system? If the so called 'Cosmic Storm' that forced them into stasis has passed, why do they need to tranfer themselves into the Robotix and not just come out of stasis? 80's cartoons and logic are rarely aquainted
I vaguely remember this... Transformers animation from Toei and also the voices, so basically this is Transformers except for the storyline an characters..
It uses the same music as transformers sometimes, but they were by the same company so it was probably cheaper than writing new stuff. It sounds like ghostbusters, but doubt it is.
2 things, its been like 20 plus years since ive seen Robotix, and im a avid 80s fan esp of cartoons, cant believe I forgot about this one. Second, is it just me or does the intro music sound a little like "Ghostbusters" from Ray Parker Jr? Lol. (or "I want a new drug" from Huey Lewis)
@SinnFein4ever The only one you are right about is Peter Cullen (Ironhide). The others you mention from the third season of Transformers are not on the cast list. The production company was the same though, hence the sound effects...and music.
Ah I see now, sorry YazJ87, my bad! You did say that Sunbow/Marvel re-used music of which is true, I've seen enough of them to know ^_^ G.I. Joe the movie was a very good example of music recyciling, they even used a piece of Moondreamers BGM for Cobra Commander's trial scene. Anyway my apoligies, for some reason I thought you didn't, or I was went to reply to a comment left by someone else. Once again I apoligise, but I'm glad that you enjoy Cereal Geek magazine. ^_^
Where did they come up with the names for the humans? They don't sound like Earth names! Zaru? Kanok? Exetor? These guys must be from an Earth-like planet or something.
Have you seen the credits to these shows, apart from Visionaries, all these Hasbro cartons are co-productions of Sunbow AND Marvel. In fact it was Marvel who got Toei Animation involved in these cartons to begin with. Buy a copy of Cereal Geek Magazine from Gram Cracker Comics website and read the article about Toei Animation in Issue 1, it's very interesting!
Is it just me or does the theme have the Ghostbusters theme playing in the background. I also think it's funny the guy at the beginning is called Xeter (This Island Earth ref?)
I like how this show just opens with a battlecruiser chasing and attacking the main characters, and then once they're shot down, it's never heard from again. Who are these people? What were they running from? Why did other people want to kill them? Hell, they could be terrorists for all we know... :P Great show, but come on now, let's have a little background here...
I am nostalging so hard right now. This was in the VHS player constantly for a very very long time. Childhood.
Robotix Deseves a comeback!
I find it interesting that that the protectons knew the word human and the species in general
Why am I hearing Ironhide's voice?
Robótix VS transformers
lol, I almost can't believe this is on youtube. I had these on tape when I was a kid, used to be my favorite cartoons, but nothing ever came of it and hardly anyone has ever heard of it or remembers it. I'm surprised someone found this and posted it. =)
Thank you so much for posting this! I can't find a region 1 DVD of Robotix anywhere!! This is one of my all time favorites!!!
Used to have the toys back in the day. Great show!!
So awesome. I watched the crap outta this for like 2 years as a kid. I may have the only mint-condition VHS tape left in existence :)
Awesome ! I remember the toys were hard to find in Canada...expensive too at the time ..but it lives on tnx for posting...has to be same producers as G.I.Joe and Transformers,Visionaries
thanks for posting these up..these bring back a lot of memories..thanks for especially putting up the first begining episodes. :)
Ahhh...the 80's. Greatest time to be a kid. I hear voices and music from Transformers. I used to have the guy at 2:34, he had the bug eyed cockpit eyes. He was the only Robotix set I had. He was white tho not gray like in the cartoon. Good times and memories.
How could I spend my childhood a fan of Transformers and only now find out about this cartoon. I'll go hunt for it now I think
These were some of the best toys ever, ever.
I've got a u-haul moving box full to the top with just robotix parts. I'LL NEVER SELL IT.
Thanks for puttingthis up, havent had a chance to watch this so this brings back memories.
I really liked the idea that which robotic bodies an alien's consciousness downloaded into was random. The exoskeleton you recognized as belonging to a friend could actually be piloted by an enemy.
Hi man! 14 yr later, what about you?
Don't you love how the robots speak the same language as the people who just crash landed on their planet?
I remembered this show I just wasn't sure what it was called, I remember it because of the vehicles, yes it was lesser known than transformers etc. I am glad I found it once again
Had almost forgotten about them... Shame on me, cause they rock! :D
loved the show as a kid. the toys, while cool, were really expensive and i was never able to afford them.
I used to watch this every Saturday morning in the 80's, thanks!
Huh. This is actually much better than I recall it being.
I've got a VHS copy as well, not to mention the R2000 Argus, R1500 Bront and Venturak Robotix sets. Cool stuff...
I love this show, thanks for the upload.
thats great ive been looking for these for years
Just got a working set of robotix off ebay to add to what I had when I was a kid for my nephew who is into space, rockets, fireworks, dinosaurs and pirates. Gotta show him this cartoon before I engage him in a major battle. What happened to all the cool stuff of the 80s?
Uncle Crambone

I never saw this before, but i used to collect the Transformers UK comics as a kid (in the 80s) and the Robotix was the backup story for a time
Given the complexity of the character designs, the animation's pretty good....
The Protectons are the good guys, the Terrorcors are the bad guys.
WOW! I love this show "SUNBOW" studios made another masterpiece along with TRANSFORMERS,G.I.JOE,INHUMANOIDS (too many to mention) the 80's were and are still the best tnx MichaelSeebach for the posts...Rock on
In other words, Hasbro got tired of paying Takara it's fair share of royalties... still, this looks great and I want to see more
Thanks a mill for posting Robotix MichaelSeebach. swissnor.
i loved this show
OH YEAH!!! i have it on VHS this is wicked stuff
omg yo have posted this too thanks this is awsome i have been looking for this for years. i love the film so much almost every weekend i made my dad rent it out for me. im so happy i found this everytime i tryed too look it up i couldnt find it as i spelled the name wrong but thansk too you i can find it again^^
Ah good memories!
Lost, god I never knew it even existed and remember the commercials for the toys. wow this actually looks pretty good.
cartoon from my childhood years!! LOVE IT SO MUCH!! TY TY TY TY TY!!!!!!! BTW: any one know cartoon where the good guys are in 80% of time in cars that got super powers? Wow - GI Joe music around the 4 minute mark. And some good animated scenes. Good watch here.
it has been so fucking long since ive seen this! classic, im still a kid at heart
I loved this cartoon. It was pretty underrated compared to the other cartoons of that time, but I loved it nonetheless.
Funny thing, these toys still exist. It was taken over by a start-up company called Robotics and Things, inc. Just Google Robotics and Things
'Our instruments suggest a total loss of power.'
...he reads on the instruments that require power.
was this from the same people who did transformers the soundtrack and effects sound effects sound the same in someplaces?
i remeber when every charity shop had a copy of ROBOTIX.
wow i was trying for years to remember what this cartoon was called .
OMG! Everyone said I was crazy that this cartoon doesnt exist!!! I knew it I knew was real!! (LOL)
It was produced by Sunbow/Marvel who did the Transformers and many other Hasbro related shows.
The theme song for ROBOTIX sounds very much like the Ghostbusters theme!
hie hie the cartoon i loved when i was a kiddo, i had it on vhs but i lost it somewhere ;/
I really thought this little gem was lost!
THX for uploading it!
Its not lost anymore.
It's done by the same production company as G.I. Joe and other Hasbro cartoons; Sunbow/Marvel and is very likely to have been animated by the same Japanese animation studio Toei Animation.
The sountrack really sounds the same as "The Defenders of the Earth" :D
i was too small to remember this series but i know i had the VHS, it's quite brutal fighting (arms torn off) and such intense soundtrack just for moving rocks.

2:24, that's my favorite...
"robotix,ROBOTIX !" :)

I suppose Compu-Core felt she couldn't release their real bodies until the solar radiation on the planet's surface reached a safe background level.
Actually the 1980 Transformers Cartoon was made in America,
But it was animated in Japan and South Korea.
The only thing missing is the classic Transformers changing sounds.
The goodguy robotix leader sounds like Destro from GI Joe
My brainz.... So many memoriez...
robotix is on dvd but in the u.k i hope it come soon in the u.s.a soon
I vaguely remember this... Transformers animation from Toei and also the voices, so basically this is Transformers except for the storyline an characters..
You know, it would be too far out there to have a crossover between Robotix ,and the Transformers in the comic.
Wouldn't it be cool if it was remade
I recognize Neil Ross. And I think Peter Cullen is one of the bad guys. And
obviously, that's Frank Welker in there
in well.
considering this is a MB/Hasbro toon Am not surprised the SFX, music, actors & the narrator is from Transformers & G.I. Joe LOL
2:34 IS THAT IRONHIDE ?!
@SinnFein4ever The only one you are right about is Peter Cullen (Ironhide). The others you mention from the third season of Transformers are not on the cast list. The production company was the same though, hence the sound effects...and music.
another 80s cartoon perfect to make a live action movie like transformers.
go Goon GO!
The theme song sounds like Ghostbusters. Same announcer as Transformers. Same animation as 3rd series of Transformers. LOL.
Victor Caroli was the narrator for TFG1
Ah I see now, sorry YazJ87, my bad! You did say that Sunbow/Marvel re-used music of which is true, I've seen enough of them to know ^_^ G.I. Ahhh..Now we know where the transformers came from!!!LOLZZ
@4:56
Hasn't anyone ever told this kid that it's rude to get into a ladies cockpit without asking first?
Is it just me or does the theme have the Ghostbusters theme playing in the background.
I also think it's funny the guy at the beginning is called Xeter (This Island Earth ref?)
It would have actually been Sunbow/Marvel who would use the same music in quite a few of these cartoons.
Thank you so very much
Why Did'nt There Make More Of This Stuff It's Cool!
I like how this show just opens with a battlecruiser chasing and attacking the main characters, and then once they're shot down, it's never heard from again. Who are these people? What were they running from? Why did other people want to kill them? Hell, they could be terrorists for all we know... :P
Great show, but come on now, let's have a little background here...
Probably the voices of turbo & cy-kill did those voices too.
The toys were cool too
That and the TIE fighter sounds from Star Wars.
With being Sunbow-made, it's still weird to hear Transformers audio(music, voice, even bits of music)
esa pelicula es bien calidad no dejo de verla que malo que no venga en español
Was there ever toys of this? I mean it isn't great, but it was neat.
Robotix is Robot Jox , Robot Wars for Kids.
This came on every Sunday before Jem but it didn't last as long.
so what? i remember this cartoon more than the transformers cartoon series. too bad it has been revived like He-man and the MOTU (2002).
reminds me of transformers when they landed on earth
