Re-watching this golden video. I thank you on behalf of all Jewry. It is needed!
Explaining the mitzvah of Tefillin, that (I would guess) 99% of us are not aware of.

I always noticed the hairs, but I didn’t know the meaning. I like your explanation. Glad I wasn’t tempted to cut them off.

Interesting. My shel rosh has no small hairs sticking out of the batim. Mysterious lol

Sometimes they slip in. It is still kosher but you can bring it to a sofer to pull them out.

In Aryeh Kaplan's book he explains that in order for G-d to allow us free will and freedom of choice, he had to create the possibility for evil.
At first G-d gave evil barely enough power to exist. It's existence literally hung by a hair. It was only man's evil deeds that strengthened it and allowed it to grow.
Although hair is dead, it emanates from the living. This side of evil is given a small place in our most holy realm, because all of it's power ultimately comes from the Holy.
Why a calf's hair? The Golden Calf is one of the archetypes of evil.
This hair ultimately connects all evil to the Holy. It is a channel through which all evil can be brought back to the Holy and redeemed.
When a man returns to G-d all the evil he has done can be turned to good.
The most amazing thing is that it is written that a sinner who wears Tefillin may descend to Gehenom, but is immediately purified and refined!
