Using this was a good experience overall! Two notes I wanted to share with other denizens of the comment section, feel free to call me out if either of these seem unusual: - A few times, I peeked down during my sleep and found the cannula status light would flash red as I peeked at it. That made me worried my test was in danger of failing. However, whenever this occurred, the green would return shortly after, and I got a green Test Complete light at the end. I... do tend to breathe through my mouth, so it may have been protesting my lack of nasal airflow, haha. I suppose some degree of occasional red lights is normal? - I tried to press the status button for too long to turn it off in the morning. When that happened, the lights went out, but when I overstayed the 3-4 second threshold, it came back on. Of course, that's a good feature since it might cut back on times the off button is pressed prematurely. When you see the lights go out, that's your cue to release the button! Then you'll see the test complete light.
Effort sensor is incorrectly placed under the arm. It should be next to the apnealink air-recosrder. I understand that this is educational video made by people who might not have exact knowledge how to put this on and you should always read the instructions.
Ummm, a woman's breasts are often very different than a man's breasts. Some instructions (visuals) would be helpful. Many of the women using this device will be overweight and have large breasts. 😊
First night my husband did the device and the light was red. Replaced the batteries and the second night got up and the light was red again. What are the chances the device is faulty? Now after 2 days you indicate in your email that it is $25 late fee for returning after 2 days. Sounds like a money scheme to me since the initial charge was 195.
My machine turns on but after a few seconds it turns off. Don’t have anybody to call and ask questions in the middle on the night when I get up in the middle of the night and the machine is off. I check the batteries too
I just got the kit in the mail. After GP ordered it. I have just read though that is only useful for diagnosing sleep apnea so there are many other sleep disorders that I believe this device would not help with so I’m kind of disappointed and I have not even done it yet.
All medical devices and advice are still focused on men. Any chance the other 51% of the population can get some instructional materials? Don't know what I expected in a country that just started using female shaped crash test dummies in cars and teaching x-ray technicians what hair bands or extensions look like in images.
Hi Andre, thanks for reaching out. The Apnealink will be able to determine results based on a requirement of 4 hours sleep in one night. If you unsure you will be asleep that long, that’s no problem. If we find the results are inconclusive you can just test again. Alternatively, we have another sleep test option which is less invasive. The onesleeptest is worn only on the finger and is used 3 nights in a row to assess your sleep. This might be a better option if you are only able to gain a few hours of sleep at night.
This is gonna be uncomfortable😑 Only I must do the 2 night study. The nasal cannula is likely going to be the most annoying, but, if I can get a good indication of the severity of SA, it’s worth it. Happy sleeping youtube world☘️
Hi Brianna! Thank you for reaching out. ResMed designs with the intention of comfort. Although it might be different sleeping with the apnealink, remember this will be the beginning of many better nights rest. If you are concerned that you might have difficult with the cannular wear it an hour before bed. This will allow you body to adjust to the feel and weight so when you are finally read to sleep, you wont even notice it there.
Todas las luces deberian estar verdes si es que todo esta conectado bien. La unica luz que deberia estar roja es el que dice "test complete". La manana siguiente deberia estar verde o apagada.
I just did a home study with this on. I felt a cramp coming in my thigh so I might’ve stopped breathing for a little while bracing for the pain. Will this affect the test?
Thank you for reaching out to us. Would you mind giving us a call on 1800 737 633 so we can discuss this further and obtain more information about your experience?
This video sucks is not very descriptive and goes too fast. There should be steps and pause indicators for each step. This video could be far more user friendly
Love the attention to detail to include a paid woman actor to be in the video but not have her serve a purpose, such as instructing women how to wear device.
Did the mistress really need to be brought in for this video? Is an adjenda being pushed here? An assumption of the way a person should be living? An assumption of a person's proper status?
This equipment is janky and old tech. There has GOT to be better. My HR strap can detect cadence and keep weeks worth of data. My watch and phone tell me how I've slept. My Dr prescribed this, but I ripped it off. There's no way I was going to be able to sleep with this on.

Now for big breasted people, how do you suggest I put the belt?

I was sent here by my sleep clinic. If this is bad info, it's widespread.
I thought so, thank you!
You need to make a video for women..where do we place it? 🤷🏽♀️
Just above your nipples is what I was told
It's exactly the same for men and women. Probably better to place the box above the boobs but it'd would work fine below as well

Ok Karen
Suggestions for those that sleep on their abdomen? Unit on Chest is a non-starter. I cannot sleep on back or side.

This exact thing is happening to me. Did you figure out what the issue is?
I slept like 5 hours and the red light stayed on that mean I have to do it again ?

This video shows nothing about how to put on the belt. There are no instructions with my kit.
Does the machine stay on when you wake up to use the bathroom
Yes
Yes, just record it in the accompanying journal.
the so what if the batteries dont work?
Thing doesn’t ever work, done everything they ask many times and not once did I get a good enough reading
Is this accurate? Just had it done at home and don’t like the results.

The strap makes it uncomfortable that one can’t sleep well due to the plastic joint pressing against one’s back when laying flat on the bed.
I use it during about 4 hours because à sleep only 3 hours in two shot. Is it enough to get a complet test?

WHERE DO GIRLS PUT IT OVER OR UNDER BREASTS
We need to see how big or small the breast are
over
Over
For women where does the belt go under the breast?
I was told above the breasts
No one not even the TH-cam!!! Damn everything is geared to men even in 2023!
@@Cre8-Gr8-FXI looked at the pamphlet included with the device and it showed a picture of under the breast is good
I don’t have the second thing to put on belt for oxygen
There is a clip on the hard plastic part attached to the cannula no suggestion is to how that might be used????
You can place that on either side of the belt. It is there so that the cable is not moving around all over while you sleep.
How do you use it with oxygen
Sounds like an oversight on the part of whoever gave you this test.
Y si de pronto no funciona o no alumbra uno que psa

No. It's to measure your air coming out. Hope this helps others.

Lololol why didn't you schedule it for another night? Awkward! Hoping your comment was to give us a giggle. It did just that. TY 😂😂😂
You guys need a video for women. Where the heck do we place the belt!
Google it
Under the titties
Just above the breasts. Even if large.
can't wait
How many hours do you need to sleep for it to be an accurate test?
My doctors said five is preferred if you can.
