The 747-8 is undoubtedly the 'sexiest' 747 version ever built - all the proportions are just right & it's the most elegant airliner in the skies today, especially wearing the timeless LH livery! Probably last of the great big four engined jets though - too bad... Just *love* the sound of those huge fans spooling up from 3:00 onwards. Oh and btw: Who on earth are those 25 people who don't like this vid?? Great filming, thx for sharing this :-)

Lufthansa German Airlines is known to buy planes from Boeing and Airbus and also Embraer (for regional destinations), they do not have one manufacturer-only. In Germany, they did many prize quizzes and promotion tours for their new B747-8 fleet and they are very proud of them as they are proud of their A380!

incredible power from those 4 genx engines. the rain spray excellently emphasizes just how much thrust those 4 engines are producing to get that girl shifting from stand still to take off.

My mom was there with a phone to get some pics, I think she mentioned some spotters with good equipment atop cars, I believe that's you lol. Keep up the great work, the shot on 31st was wow, awesome.

BA are looking at buying the 747-8 to replace some of there 747-4. But they are still have not decided. It is between the 747-800 and the A380. I really hope we see more 747-800 for passenger service.

Which BTW, if your screen gets stuck and stops playing, they cannot reset it without resetting ALL the monitors. (because the planes are so old, that's how it works) I had this discussion with the Flight Attendant. The headphone plugs don't even click any more. They just slide in. And if you move, they come out. Their 767's are the worst. Fortunately, there are laws regarding the flightworthiness of planes. Otherwise, they wouldn't even service them. United customer service is the rudest in the world.

The dash 8 is just such a graceful bird. I love the scalloped fan cowl outlets, really dresses things up a bit.
I find it particularly shameful that no US airliner has ordered a single 747-8.
