_You got me to thinking how much It disturbs me to hear other pastors say, "this country is as it is because of the church". It's a crushing weight to ponder at 55yo...to feel I didn't do enough. Maranatha_
I challenge people when they say that to me. Most times they say it as a prelude to trying to tell people they need to follow their cause in order to be a "real christian".
The KJV says higher powers instead of governing authorities. I’ve always thought it meant government but then I started thinking it may mean leaders of the church. Especially when verse 4 says this: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Today our government calls evil good and good evil so I’m just not seeing how this fits. I just read these chapters again tonight in my nightly studies. I told my husband I would wait and see what you say it means because I’ve come to trust your explanation of the scriptures. Goodness gracious I just don’t see how our government of today can be ministers of God. And I don’t just mean today’s as in this administration. Even long before that. Local governments also. But perhaps we are in fact under or being prepared for judgment.

Thank you Sir. Do you have any material on the kingdom of God. Whether it is now according to other movements or in the future?
