I bought one when I worked at a refinery. Because the air would destroy it. It worked great. Zippers all work still. And it’s thrown in a corner till I need it again

Yeah it's a pretty solid bag for cheap I must say.

I have used this as an overnight bush craft bag for over a year and I love it. For $24.99 it has held up to abuse admirably. My load out averages 17# without food and water and just under 20# with; includes full one quart military canteen. I even mount my bush craft knife on one side, either a Schrade Scaxe 10 or an Ozark Trails hatchet (another great surprise) on the front molle's. The large bucket and the organizational pockets make it very easy to pack and find gear when needed. Like you I picked the OD green with the red zipper pulls. Even though the zippers aren't YKK they glide easily with these pulls...well thought out. There have been no stitching issues, no rock or tree abrasions and the bag looks like I bought it today. I overloaded the bag once with almost 30# with a heavy wool blanket plus a heavy grade tarp and the bag showed no signs of stress. If one is on a strict budget and needs a good backpack in the 30 liter range this bag is a great one to try out.

Whenever you hear the statement, "I was in Walmart the other day, grabbing some ammo ..." it's pretty much guaranteed that what follows is pure gold. :)

    They're GREAT packs!
I use one of mine for all manner of duties.
I ride scooter & bicycle. This usually hold what the scooter-box does not.
My discs for disc/frisbee golf ? They fit - even want to fit more & carry a large water (1/2 gal) for hot days.
So, in that - I think I put the zippers & such through their own hell. They still work.
I liked this bag so much that, I not only got the one in OD green but, gray and lastly black. (3 of them!)
If I had to change anything, sure! Change is good/I don't fear change when I'm eager for it ….
They bottom of the pack I'd like to change/though not necessary.
Maybe I could spray some flex-seal onto it.
The grommet you talked about would be great.
Lastly, some lashing provisions more than the two loops at the bottom. Those are actually
where you fit the point of your trekking poles and the bungee loops hold the rest of the pole.
If they don't make a version 2 of the pack/I'll go to an "Alterations" seamstress/clothing repair
and have them install lashing support for sleeping bag straps. I think this daypack is the large enough
to hold gear & supplies got an extended weekend camp trip if done right.
    Good review/subscribed/hope to see more!

Just got this pack in black at Walmart for like $20. I love it. Despite having a few backpacks already, seeing this pack for only $20, I just have to get it. I've seen countless other tactical backpacks that cost well above $75 where the functionality and quality isn't even half as good as this pack.

@@TerriblyTactical Great, I'm old and disabled so no one gives me a 2nd look. The pack carries well and is very comfortable' BTW, mine is OD green so it looks like military surplus which is a growing trend around here,

I got the O.D. it's a great little pack, if it had a waist belt it would be an awesome pack. I'm thinking you get a padded waist belt and tie it into the 2 loops at bottom of the pack, but not sure which one would fit best.

  • @cobbler88
    @cobbler88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

I almost snagged one of these the other day but the back padding is what made me think twice. There's really little to no difference between the mesh padding and the rest of it as far as how much it sticks out. It's basically a uniform surface except for where the stitching is. To me, that means a wet back. I did email Outdoor Products to see what the official weight is, though. That will take "up to 48 hours" though.
And it was either this or the Kachemak pack I tried where the chest strap at full length was very tight on a 50" chest, and I think I was only wearing a windbreaker and sweatshirt. Again, I don't know that it was this pack, but regardless it's good practice to test the length of the straps if you have certain areas that tend to be bigger than average.

I've had this bag and it just can't compare even close to a real bag.
If i have to have something that my life may depend on within a moments notice such as a bug out bag or long term EDC, I need something with pure quality.
It "works" sure... but, no. No.

I have 2 of these bags. 1 in OD (or Grape as they call it) for fishing (Fits 2 large Plano boxes in main compartment perfectly), and 1 in Asphalt (Gray) for EDC. Great bags. In regards to the red zipper pulls, next time your out in the woods, even the greenest of woods, really take a good look around. You'll be surprised at how much red is actually present.
