This is exactly why I don't think I will ever buy anything bigger than a 250 or 320 cc of Yamaha R3. What for ? You can easily do +100 mph on both. They are agile, light and, as we can see here, fun to ride. You will spend way less on fuel. What's the point of having a 1000 cc bike ? A 250R will take you from 0 to 60 in 7.5s. Even faster so with some mods. An R3 in just over 6s. That's plenty enough if you ask me. But hey, to each his own. And this is a great vid by the way! Pure pleasure to watch.
I totally agree. I could see as some experienced riders would like to upgrade to 600 or 1000 depending on where and how they ride. But a 250 is perfectly capable. I know plenty of people who started out on liter bikes, wrecked them, and are now afraid to take any bike on the road.
Excellent Riding Excellent skills !!! .. I understand that there is a high compression kit which will yield another 6hp (approx) Forged Piston and new cam set .. .. milling the head too. That along with 92 octane and you could easily get 33hp + The CRF250X motor is used in the MD250H which screams 125mph ++ .. I'm wondering if you can swap out the gears too. Not sure how much diff smaller sprocket will make though.
I have a Bazzaz EFI tuner and a map for the full exhaust but it lloks like it's accelerating so quickly bc it's downhill. it's actually very steep, the go pro wide angle takes the steepness out. the CBR250r is a GREAT commuter and stunning in traffic. and yes, you can do this with some skills... but don't be fooled. it's still 27hp even with the mods. but you don't need 100hp to have a great time.
Awesome run, fun to watch. Shit your pants moment @2:55.

Awesome riding, the camera mount captures the lean angles well!
Exhilarating ride. =) I love these bikes.

Nice riding by your "friend"
this video right here confirmed my reason for buying a CBR250, think a 600 + bike could do this? pfff...
Was this on stock tires? Very impressive either way!
Damn! This would embarrass some bigger bikes on roads like this.
lol it will. i was thinkin the same thing after watching 250r take on the big boys on a twisty track on some other youtube vid.
hey, which clip on are you using?
