Any know if those pipes are still being made please? His website seems outdated.

When I was 15 and didn't have a license I bought mine in the crate for $1200....I got my learner permit and then stuck the SPEC II's on it! Coolest bike at MY High School!!

This is exactly why I don't think I will ever buy anything bigger than a 250 or 320 cc of Yamaha R3. What for ? You can easily do +100 mph on both. They are agile, light and, as we can see here, fun to ride. You will spend way less on fuel. What's the point of having a 1000 cc bike ? A 250R will take you from 0 to 60 in 7.5s. Even faster so with some mods. An R3 in just over 6s. That's plenty enough if you ask me. But hey, to each his own. And this is a great vid by the way! Pure pleasure to watch.

Yeah I know, the bike is not going to do 140 or 160 mph but theoretically it's good for at least 115 mph with the proper tuning,. I got to 91 mph in stock trim and it had another 1000 rpm left.

I'll throw a GPS on the bike for shits and grins and see what it's actually doing...

I take that back. the +1 may help 6th gear actually pull more so it's not that simple. stock the bike may see top speed in 5th? I really don't know. have you seen CBR250dotNET? Lots of good info there and lots of top speed arguments too,. haha

unclear? I'm +1 in the rear sprocket so my top speed is prolly lower than stock but yes, it gets there much faster. I never ride on fryway so I didn;t care much about top speed, obviously it can matter at the track. My speedo, which I assume is correct as the front tire is same size, never reeds over 94. It's probably hot too? The strange thing is that the transponder on my bike at Fontana has me at 103mph as top speed on that track? weird? The CBR250r is far from fast, it's just fun.

What Top Speed did you end up achieving with the all the mods ? It must get there a lot quicker than stock.

Thanks. I bought the bike as a fun commuter but have a disease and my curiosity got me. I dumped like 4k into this sewing machine to see if it would go. tight track/infield yes. But you get killed if there's any straights. Full suspension, race tech front and a JRI rear shock, bazzaz, exhaust, rear sets, clip ons, brake lines, tires, the whole ball of wax. Not worth it. SV way better for track. But the CBR is a genius street bike sans freeways and cuts traffic like a knife though butta
