- Thirty-one-year-old bald eagle Murphy is a first-time father to an eaglet that was found on the ground after a storm blew its nest down.

When a recently orphaned eagle needed a dad, Murphy stepped up to help at his home at World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park in St. Louis County.
"Although it might make you feel sad that Murphy has built a nest and is nurturing a rock as an egg, it’s just his hormonal response to spring," the sanctuary posted on Facebook. "Murphy is not sad, so you don’t need to be."

A couple weeks ago, another bald eagle chick fell out of the nest. Murphy is raising it.
Adopting and raising at least 1 eaglet was on Murphy’s bucket list. 🦅

It might seem silly not to name it, but some superstitions are strong for a reason. When I finally started dating again, we set our first date for New Years Day 2021 because I said 2020 was cursed. (For obvious reasons)
